Opportunity to ban him from games?
"Defiance in Silence"
I don't know a single Buckeye fan who likes seeing Buck-I-Guy's ugly mugg shown at all of our televised games. Or the guy who paints his skull to look like a helmet. They are welcome to cheer as they choose, but they annoy me and the television coverage they get makes others believe that we, as Buckeye fans, support them. Not at all true.
This guy apparently doesn't mind. To each his own really but I just don't see how this guy can be liked after seeing how he conducts himself.
"Everything you see on the internet is true." - Abraham Lincoln
Being an Ohioan who moved away more than two decades ago, I used to think that Buck I Guy was something of a novelty. I used to think seeing him on television was pretty cool, because I hadn't lived in the state for so long and I love Ohio State. However that all changed at the 2009 Fiesta Bowl, when I tried to get my picture taken with him and found out what a major inconvenience fans were to him. & I have had no use for that tool ever since.

pipey do you mean this guy?
Not a fan.
Not a huge fan of Barton, but his take on that douche takes the edge off for sure
What's your beef with Barton?
No beef, just not his biggest fan that's all.
I feel like he has to have an opinion on everything and the need to share it. I like the guy but feel he has to always throw himself into every story.
Love Kirk's take on this. That guy is a total asshat and a terrible representation of Buckeye fans.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
I'd give Barton one shot at revenge.
“Don’t fear criticism. The stands are full of critics. They play no ball. They fight no fights. They make no mistakes because they attempt nothing. Down on the field are the doers, they make mistakes because they attempt many things.”
Circle drill - my money's on Barton
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

Man Linga, now that is how to fundraise for the site right there...
That arrogant douche wouldn't see it coming, how could anyone hate him?
Give him $2k to show up and Barton out of the kindness of his heart does it for free, Circle Drill. Bingo.
Thanks man - sometimes it just writes itself.
I know one thing for sure KB would do it in a heart beat - we may be onto something here.
And maybe a few previous posters in here can put up or shut up.
He'd like it too much. Way too much attention.
Until he wakes up with a bunch of medicine and an I.V. in his arm.
Pros vs joes! Plz!!!!!
I'll chip in.
Heck, I'd pay a dollar to watch a monkey f#%$ a football. I'd pay ten to watch that show.

Guys be careful what you say, he may visit this site!
I lost all respect for the man when he tried to charge my then 4 year old daughter to take a pic with him during her time at children's hospital a few years ago..
Wait, are you saying he was at Children's Hospital and asking for $$ for a picture???
My daughter was in children's hospital for a little while, during our little walk around to the food court, we ran into him at the lobby desk signing in or whatever he was doing..so I told my daughter lets go see if he will take a pic with you..so I asked him and he told me $10..I said thanks but no thanks..
That's just wrong on so many levels. He takes solicitation to a whole new level of ugly.
Charging kids at a children's hospital for pictures? Pretty scumbaggish. I was more or less ambivalent about them all (except the one I heard does a scholarship, he at least does SOMETHING), but I'd say I'm part of the converted now for utter disgust at the guy.
I have met the guy 3 times and all I can come away with is he's an a$$hole.
saw this game in NOLA for the sugar bowl.. dude was walking around with a "bodyguard" and I was like wtf seriously??
Well, in all honesty, judging by the sentiment most users on here feel towards him, he probably needs a bodyguard unless he'd get f'ed up by some drunk guy. Or by Kirk Barton.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
Ha, I thought the same thing.
Incidentally, I'd put my money on Barton over the bodyguard.
If he's at a hospital charging KIDS money to have their picture taken with him I can understand why he may need a bodyguard
Shandy is not beer
Kirk Barton just became my new personal hero.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Maybe Barton could give Buck I Guy a Schlegel-bomb
He just needs to take a long walk off a short pier. Can't stand that douche bag.
How much you want to bet he records the games just so he can see himself on TV and not actually watch any football?
Did you get me my Cheez Whiz, boy?
This is the ultimate troll job by ESPN. They knew darn well that Buckeye Nation doesn't like this guy.
Walking minstrel show -- him and his two sidekicks. The only OSU celeb fan I find tolerable is that Cousin It looking thing.
Did Phyllis from Mulga make it into the ESPN HOF?
"Shut your damn mouth Cowturd" is my favorite quote.
Jan 2nd Cowherd show where he bullied her made me smile cheek to cheek for a week!
You've got to give him and the other two camera whores credit for one thing, they know how to score front row tickets to every game we play, home or away. I have know idea how they can do that so consistently.
Don't know if it's true but from what I've read it doesn't matter what seat they have they push on down to the closest spot they can get to because of their "celebrity" status.
The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win. -- Woody Hayes
I heard essentially their schtick is, if you let us up here with you, you'll get on TV. Personally, I'd say this ain't Hollywood, and I've got a face for radio, so get the fuck out of here!
I've got a face for radio
Oddly enough, so do they but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
He insulted my father. We were at the Spring Game and he said to my dad, "there is a long time Buckeye fan," insinuating that he was old. Who says crap like that? Now my dad flips him the bird whenever they show him on TV.
"The future is bright at Ohio State."
"Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends"
Could be worse-he could've said "there's a long time TTUN fan"
Buckeye fans should let that tool know how they really feel about him at games. If that idiot had pushed my family member out of the way he would'vd wound up on his ass.
"I find your lack of kalua disturbing" - Darth Lebowski
the one guy whi has the little dude on his head ( cant get the pic to show up) hes really cool! met him in NOLA.. he stopped took pics with everyone, didn't mind anyone.. I talked to him for a little bit.. that guy I respect
You might change your mind if he was sitting in front of you.
"Hey look at me --- Look at me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Met him at the Navy game last year and i have to agree. Got a picture with him and a couple Buckeyes (living in Maryland, I don't see them too often).
Lost any respect I had for that guy when I saw him parked in a handicap spot. He does a great job walking all around the stadium hamming it up for pics before the game...
Well that changes things a bit.
When the holiday Inn was hiney gate. He would stand out in front of conrads. With two hands full of tickets. Scalping. The when they was gone. he'd run into holiday Inn change into his outfit. Real fan.
Real fan...Orlas King
The guy in the background is trying to cover his face with his cup because of these 3. Can't blame him
I have to return some videotapes
Hey guys great idea, let's dress up head to toe and try to commend attention to ourselves at college games!
You're always good for late night humor.
You're making me blush!
Saw the spiky hair dude and the bald guy get out of the same piece of crap car at champaign, Illinois. Pretty sure they car pooled there. They were taking turns getting each other in their outfits. They must hang out on the weekends..
Overheard the big guy say "Does this sticker on my third chin make me look fat?"
The other guy just shook his head and replied "Pass me the Aquanet."
Two things here about Buck I Guy and Big Nut one im not going to begrudge him his Handi Cap card because there are people whom are handicap to where you really see nothing wrong wit them. I know I fit into that group myself with me Heart problems but en though I have that tag on my car I very rarely use those space's unless im having a real bad day myself which is not to often thank god.
But from all I hear here and else where on him is he never seems to have any trouble getting around at all and should not even have one. I think the one test for people who claim to be disabled with no signs showing anything wrong but either just fat or to damn lazy to walk should be required to walk those damn steps up to C Deck. I know I had to stop about 4 or 5 times and thought I was going to die on those damn steps.
And has far as those hats he wears if I was there and he was in front of me he would either that the dam thing off or I would remove it for him with no chance in hell of him ever wearing it again. And has far as Buck I Guy goes in pushing people to get Camera time I would have no Problem knocking him the Fu_k Out if I saw him do it and take my free trip to jail has it would be worth it. There now I have my Ranting over these two out of the way im done.
I don't find it endearing that grown assed men wear wigs, stickers on their 3rd chin, capes, and whatever other kind of idiotic apparel the feel like wearing. If you want to do that, though, that's your business. Who cares if you look like a dumb shit. In general, I think "super fans" in any form are dipshits. It's just not my cup of tea. A HUGE portion of our fanbase validates their behavior though. Obviously, he charges for pictures because people pay it and want to have their picture taken. I wouldn't pay 10 bucks to have my picture taken with Urban.
I sat behind the one that wears all the buckeye neclaces one time. He throws a towel to people all game and takes pictures with his cell phone. I don't know if he charges or not, but why do people oblige him? The game and the band are entertainment enough for me. I don't need some silly bullshit in the stands too. If people told them, NO you can't get down here I don't care about getting on TV, NO i don't want your stupid towel to get my picture taken, no I don't want you to harrass kids at the hospital, or people in line at Kroger to see the national championship trophy, these guys would just fade away and actually, everyone would get to WATCH THE FUCKING GAME and not the side show going on around them.
I think about my grandpa when I think about a super fan. My grandpa had the same old UK hat that he wore for 30 years. He had a UK jacket he wore all winter long. He would wear a UK sweat shirt in the spring and fall. He had the same old gear my whole life. He loved UK. He watched every game and listenned in the years when they weren't allowed to be on TV. He loved UK his entire life. This extreme love he had for the program and he never set foot on UK's campus. He had never been to Rupp or Memorial Coloseum.
That to me is a super fan. Someone who has never physically been to see the team in person but fully understand's how special it is to be part of that fan base. I took my grandpa to his first UK basketball game when he was 70 or 71 years old. I paid way too much for him to see UK take on UofL at Rupp arena. I'm not a UK fan, but that's one of the greatest sports memories I'll ever had. He talked about that game every time he talked to ANYONE about UK basketball.
Superfans don't end up on TV dressed like idiots, superfans are that huge portion of the fan base who will never have the opportunity to even show up at the shoe for a game, but would give their right arm to watch a game there.
This is the best comment I've ever read on this topic. Agree 100%. Great story
I hate UK, but I can't think about my grandpa without thinking about him in that old hat. It's an old "trucker" hat from the early 80s. After he passed away 5 years ago, I took that hat so it didn't get thrown away. That disgusting old hat of an even more disgusting team makes me smile every time I see it, and then it promptly chokes me up after.
I saved some of my grandpa's old trucker hats as well..after he passed away, all of his hats were put into a trash bag to e thrown out..I said i would gladly take them! They now hang in my man cave, and provide me with memories every time I walk into that room!
Well said! Excellent post!... it reminds me much of my grandpa as well. I've never met a person more passionate about sports. Every ohio state game was either on the tv or radio. Every browns/Bengals game was on the radio or tv. As much as it bores the hell out of me to watch golf, you could bet your ass that if tiger was playing the tv was on lol.
I've literally begged him to go to an ohio state game with me before he took a turn for the worse and he refused and always said there's no better seat in that stadium than this recliner in front of my 60" tv lol. For years my Saturdays were spent on the couch breathing in second hand smoke and listening to him bitch and complain until the game ended. Much like you mentioned, he had an old black wore out ohio state hat with a block O on it her wore for as long as I can remember
I'm kind of surprised these guys haven't stepped up and commented here. Maybe they aren't on the site, but I have a feeling they have to be. We've seen guys who are former players, players dads, recruits, hell even the guy that Pryor supposedly was in the autograph business with came here and defended himself. These guys are probably here. It would be interesting to hear them to tell their story here. I for one would respect them for at least manning up.
Buck-I-Guy would charge 11W $10 per comment if he posted here.
He can't type, he is too busy putting makeup on, can't see with sunglasses inside his moms basement and the gloves get in the way from typing on the keyboard
I kinda cringed when JT Barrett gave him a high-five post game on TV last season.
I'd charge him $10 to read his stupid shit.
Met the guy one time. It was the very first game I had taken my wife too. She seen him in his goofy outfit and said he take a pic of me with him. So she went up and asked for a pic and he said yea sure I'll take a pic with ya for $5 or $10 whatever it was. Caught me off guard, I thought he was joking at first and said are you serious. He said yes sir I don't do free pics. I laughed, told him there wasn't any damn way in hell I was gonna pay to take a pic with my wife. He said everyone else does and I told him they were bigger fucking idiots than himself and walked off. Not had anything for the guy since
Good for you, what a douche bag.
Who does this?
@Kirk_Barton Buck-I-Guy came to my grandfather's (Jimmy Crum) funeral, gave out autographed pictures of himself, then left. He's awful.

Two words..attention whore..
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
ESPN still hates Ohio State.
I may be in the minority here, but I've been a huge fan of Kirk Barton ever since I started following him on Twitter. He is one of the few guys that speaks his mind and goes, as some call it, "no filter". He's also very interactive with fans/followers on Twitter.
Anybody who stepped on to the field for even five seconds as a player (and is not in ESPN's "Hall of Fame") should feel insulted by his induction.
For that matter, that goes for band members and cheerleaders, too -
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement. - Will Rogers
A lot of hate on here. He is cheering for your team...right?
He's cheering for the camera, from what I see.
Doesn't seem like he's cheering for anything, except himself.
That's not you Buck-I-Guy is it? LOL.
