That escalated quickly.
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.
I Believe In Ohio State.
dude needs to put the phone down and get back to the business of football... just sayin.
"Defiance in Silence"
Football is obviously not his number 1 priority.
Oops, I must have navigated to a UK blog. I thought this one was dedicated to Ohio State.
Thank you for this great and insightful comment.

Wow... didn't think the comment was THAT bad. Actually I kind of chuckled to myself because I was being such a smart ***. Maybe if I had used the sarcasm font it would've gone over better. Sorry 11w community!
THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!
...and I got 2 words for you: GAME OVER!
Dude stole my avatar.
For the record I had it first and I called you out on it a couple weeks ago. But I like the piling on technique you employed.
Bullshit. I don't really care about an avatar but I've had it for several months. You "called me out on it" a few weeks ago? When, where? Whatever dude.
Have no fear NUTTY, the authorities have been alerted and are dispatching reinforcements...
He is a former OSU recruit/player, that is why this is relevant to 11w.
I'll even go a bit further and say that even if he WASN'T a former Buckeye, it's still relevant as we can often go head to head against Kentucky in recruiting, and he's from one of Ohio's biggest talent-rich high schools.
Also, one should know that the Buckshots are often (always?) about OTHER news in the realms of college sports.
We also have college sports, other sports and anything else forum topics
Get outta here with your nonsense logic. Only Ohio State topics permitted!
I want a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium..
I'm not sure Ohio State and Kentucky actually goes head to head on ANY recruit in football. More like if Ohio State doesn't want a player, then kentucky has their leftovers

Exactly. I was confused by that as well.
I disagree with the relevancy, but that's why we have the comment section, right?

Thanks... I think??
Well I may not be in the majority OSUGREG but I enjoy keeping tabs on players who have gone through the OSU program, even if only for a short period of time.
uh, you are in the majority. OSUgreg is in the minority!
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
I didn't think I was THAT much in the minority, but I guess I have to concede that point. At the risk of getting plastered again with DV's, I have to say, I don't have the time/desire to keep up with former recruits/players that made no real impact on the program. And again, I will concede that puts me in the minority.
Did you all subscribe to 11w notifications? I'm 15 minutes late and didn't get a chance to DV this!
Surely this will go over well...

Jason should let us downvote until -11 (not just by glitch), and people who buy the gold pants should get the option to push it to -12.
With the possibility of another glitch to get it to -13
Class of 2010.
The same glitch has been there since the -10 limit was established. Voting is allowed until the counter hits -10 AND you load your page. Each person who has loaded the page before the comment hit -10 can still vote, which means frequent -11, 12, -13 and occasional -20 votes.
Now's your chance Calgarybuck! Let's keep the stoning going! In all seriousness, like I said earlier, I was too much of a smart *** in the comment and am clearly in the minority of caring about what happens to a former recruit/player of ours who was dismissed from a lower tier SEC team.
I think many of us are of the once a buckeye always a buckeye mentality. Just an FYI
And I agree to a point. While poorly stated, the point of my original post is I'm not sure I want to read every detail about everyone who was ever associated with the program. Plus this was the third (I think) update on Jones since he's left the program. It's a little tired of a topic, in my opinion.
I miss this highly valuable post by 51 minutes, and the "Downvote" feature is already shut-down? Can't I PLEASE just throw one down arrow OSUGREG04's way? Pretty please?
Here's your chance Scuba_Steve. I stand by my feeling that I don't really care about the article and I think we're kind of beating a dead horse with all of the updates about this kid. However my feeling could have been better worded, so I'll take my DV's and move on.
Once I got 60 DV's between two posts, an obnoxious and factually incorrect first one and a belligerent "doubling down" second one. Ah ... the good ol' days when there were no limits to the DV's!

I wanted to keep this positive, but OSUGreg04's favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Precisely no one will be shocked to read that.
Hey, that's a low blow. Don't lump all of us in like that.
I kid, I kid.
THAT was a low blow AndyVance
I meant with the guy in the picture :)
But kudos to you for showing up to take your proverbial lumps. Classy move, and well handled.
Appreciate it Andy
Hey thanks for that KCBREZ... yes, a lifelong Steelers fan from SE ohio. I'm also an Ohio State alum. You?
Nothing like brandishing your bona fides…
It was a joke, and I made that clear with my "I kid, I kid," comment. I'm sure I didn't need to read your résumé.
Downvoting locked - so say it in gif's
I'd hate to see a talent like Jones go to waste so I hope he rights the ship and lives up to his potential. Best of luck, big fella.
This is the 3rd post. Come on DJ
Careful now, DJ can make you not exist just like the other thread.
Sarcasm font! That's what I did wrong! However, that was exactly my first reaction. In retrospect should have kept it to myself.
Sad to hear. Hopefully he'll get his act together and still be successful. Hopefully no serious violations
Perhaps folks will reconsider the allegations that he was pushed out for "over-signing" purposes.
That which does not kill us makes us stronger.
That is exactly correct. Too many people were accusing Urban of unethical recruiting tactics. Maybe he allowed Jones to leave quietly to give him a second chance with an unscathed public record. I don't know, but to jump to conclusions is foolish.
Regardless, I hope Jones gets it together and can excel to his talent's highest level.
Foolish? really? Dammit, what the hell am I supposed to do with this now?
+1 for you sir! For great graph ... and because my wife is from CT and she must be obeyed.
Maybe you could loose it on purpose.
Yes, I've also used this pic before.
Don't count on that ever happening!!
The degree of one's emotions varies inversely to one's knowledge of the facts, the less you know the hotter you get!!
Not a shocking development unfortunately. Hopefully this kid can get his head on straight, get another shot somewhere and finish school.
I agree. I was not intending to take a shot at him above, just responding to the allegations of over-signing with a "purpose". I do wish him the best. He is not the only young man his age to face challenges as a college student whatever they may be.
I hope, for his sake, he gets things headed in a better direction.
Jones, OSUGreg or both?
Clever... UV from me
I always hope the best for these super-talented kids. I like most people was never as talented but I work really hard to make up for that. What you see in the best of players is that they have that talent and work extremely hard to get even better. I hope he's able to do that.
Not a buckeye issue but interesting nonetheless. If that message from him where he said f the Buckeyes is legit then Its karma.
Right when I saw this I instantly wanted to make one of those "Straight Outta ______" pictures with it saying 'Straight Outta Kentucky" but I figured that would be in bad taste. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't entertain the idea. Hopefully this dude can turn his career around like Dale and Hyde did.
"I've had smarter people around me all my life, but I haven't run into one yet that can outwork me. And if they can't outwork you, then smarts aren't going to do them much good." - Woody Hayes
This is just as relevant on this post.
"Hi Marcelys, Gus Malzahn here..."
actually I would be surprised if even an SEC team would take him. In order to transfer to another D1 program, he would have to sit probably another year. He will be at least a junior by the time he could help a team and the lack of effort by him so far means it would take at least another year before he would be any good for PT.
he basically screwed himself unless he goes FCS. Hopefully he figures it out and gets to enjoy football again.
Do phones still go ring ring?

My Cell Phone ringtone is set to ring, ring.
More like, Hi, this is Bo Pelini, you'll have the chance to play immediately.
What we can't do in the air we'll do on the ground.
Lol, I was thinking Jimbo Fisher, but that'll do donkey, that'll do.
Get Ginn Sr. and Mr. Clarett to talk to him and then send him to IU.
Maybe we can send one of MoC's new hires to pick him up in the van and hand deliver him to Pelini???
I was thinking he needs to get back in touch with Coach Ginn, who expressed surprise at the sudden decampment from OSU -- suggesting he hasn't been in touch. Coach Ginn always seems to know how to get them going in the right direction again.
Wow - honestly I wish him the best in the future but i did not see that one coming.

Sounds like that young man has some growing up to do pretty quickly if he wants to play college football anywhere.
Damn. You hate to see this. He's going to start running out of lifelines pretty soon...
I wouldn't be surprised to see him land at Youngstown State. Closer to home.
Hmmmm... must have been something big considering he would have sat this season out anyways because of the transfer rule
For all of those who think Grey is wrong~ Dictionary
Hopefully this kid gets it together. He needs to watch Rand University so he can see what his future holds if he doesn't.
You've just got to hope the young man gets his life together, so that he can take advantage of the opportunity to obtain a quality education. Here's wishing Marcelys all the best.
Did he have any issues while he was with OSU or did he leave due to depth chart? Kind of curious because i dont remember hearing about any team violations while he was a buckeye.
I seem to remember some vague comments about him not being a good fit for the program, etc. Sounds as if the coaches were trying to keep his path clear for a fresh start elsewhere. I can only imagine that whatever his issues were with the Buckeyes - they were probably similar issues at UK.
In any case, it's a shame to see that kind of potential go to waste.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement. - Will Rogers
he didn't have any issues that is known about but he did get involved with a few rumors. He was apart of the rumor when Rod Smith got kicked off the team last year. I don't know enough to say he got into trouble but based on all the info, seemed like he wasn't interested in working hard. That and some immaturity will not help you with any elite program, let alone Urban's team!
I had this modern art history class with him, Jamarco Jones, and some other walkons. I noticed Marcelys missing more than once.
I heard his lack of attendance was related to his disdain for the French Impressionists.
Can't blame him for that one.

Apparently I'm a trailblazer... UV!
He'll probably get a third chance. If he was dismissed twice for the same reason, I hope it's something he can turn around.
I dont like to be "that guy" but I never really believed in the whole M. Jones hype. He was a high 3 star when he committed, but due to his Glenville roots & Urban waning him, I was content with him in the class. But his game really never impressed me. Was too slow & didnt have that nasty mean streak on every play
His attitude and mentality always rubbed me the wrong way. He didnt have what it took to continue to be a Buckeye and he wasnt happy he couldnt have his cake and eat it to. Goes to Kentucky after bashing OSU on twitter, then gets the boot at Kentucky.
i wish him the best of luck, but I think this is kind of funny. Bashes OSU & karma bites him!
You sure seem to know a lot about the young man beyond what tape will tell you. What insight on his attitude and mentality did you have that the rest of us didn't? Also, what does it take to be a Buckeye? If someone is missing it, then shouldn't you able to quantify what IT is?
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
You need to lose your "black stripe" to be a Buckeye
He is only a year or two younger than me. So i do follow him on twitter and instagram. His tweets and what he tweets about and how he tweets shows how his personality is and possibly what his mentality is. U can tell how a person is how they tweet and talk.
Also if you read the reports about him when he left, he was in the dog house, was having problems keeing his weight down and wasnt doing what the coaches wanted him to do. Thats what I mean when I say he wasnt doing what it took to be a Buckeye. When you want to play, you normally do what the coahes and team asks and needs you do.
Fair enough. As someone who doesn't follow many of these young men on Twitter (which does give us an odd amount of insight into the lives of strangers, doesn't it?) I will bow to your expertise. Thanks for the reply.
You're welcome. I get what you're saying though. Its weird how you can tell what people like, how they act, and get a great sense of their personality on social media sites these days
I don't think that folks these days realize just how much social media reveals and how damaging it can be. I am constantly giving my kids a hard time about what they put out. Once it's out there, you can't bring it back!
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
It's not weird at all, social media is a window into ones soul...
The shocking thing here is that an SEC team has rules.

I hope my kids aren't still doing that at their age.
When you lose, say little. When you win, say less.
From what I've been reading (noticed didn't say hearing as it is all on the web) it isn't pot, it is a sense of entitlement and not working hard. So basically "rumor has it".
Do you get booted from the team for failing a drug test?? I can't help but believe it had to be more than that, it's not like he has been there long enough to fail 2-3 drug test right??
"If you don't have something nice to say, then say nothing at all"
I made more than my share of mistakes at that age. Hopefully this is a wake-up call and he gets things together.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Why is it that when I read Jones and Kentucky I instantly think it is just Bassdropper trolling?
Sure helps exonerate Urban from making schollie room but I believe this speaks more to the sense of entitlement and privilege that is so prevalent in sports. But again it appears Coach Meyer is ahead of that game...
Where are all the "Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye" posters?
Where are all the "Ohio State knew what they were doing" posters?
Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye. Get your life together, Marcelys.
I believe the once a buckeye always a buckeye mantra gets dropped when the player says f#*! The Buckeyes
Paralyze resistance with persistence
Agreed. Tell that to the dudes earlier in the thread too.
Hate seeing a local Cleveland kid struggling like this. I hope the big fella gets his s*hit together.
“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” - Mark Twain
Come on Marcelys, you're better than this...
Apparently he's not.
Wow! Getting kicked off of the football team at Kentucky is hard to do. He must have really pissed off Stoops.
He'll end up at so,e Deep South diploma mill like Shaw or NCCU. Hope he turns his life around before becoming a statistic.
The human torch was denied a bank loan.
Stay Classy, Columbus
No no no, Auburn bound.
Hopefully the young man get things turned around, I wish him a positive life.
Kentucky reports they tried to fix him but he was already too corrupted by Urban
We were born to love Ohio State and hate that team up north.
Hope he at least received his participation trophy before getting booted...
My brother is an UK fan and when Jones "transferred" he and several others said it was because he always wanted to go there and felt pressured to go OSU, never really wanted to be a Buckeye. Several OSU fans went to their forum and basically said he is now your problem. Those OSU posters got roasted. The UK posters, and my brother, are now eating crow.
Bummer. Hopefully he figures it out. Running out of chances before he even proves anything.
Here's to finding your way big fella.
Just putting feelers out for opinions but.....Am I the only person out there who is tired of people putting "just sayin" after comments? Drives me crazy, and I just thought I would ask. No offense Defiance, I'm not picking on you, just trendiness in general.
Looking at it logically, you saying "Just putting feelers out for opinions but" is just a round about way of saying "just saying"...
"Well, thats just like, your opinion, man." -The Dude
I'm not going to wish him well when he threw Ohio State under the bus on his way out. Not saying I hate him or wish ill will or some sort of injury, but this kid did not handle himself professionally.
He isn't a professional. He is just that, a kid. Not everyone has it figured out, I hope he does before it damages his future.
The person responsible for toes clearly wanted you to stub them.
Good luck kid......and that is all I have to say about that as it isnt worth tearing down somebody who obvioulsy wasnt ready to commit themselves to be a big time college football player
I Hate Michigan.
Did he handle his departure well from OSU? No. Is he an adult? Yes but only probably 19-20 years old. We all do,and say things in the heat of the moment that we'd probably like to take back if we could. Hopefully he gets it figured out and straightens things out. Not sure if football is in his future, probably 1AA if it is. I'm not one to say once a Buckeye always a Buckeye when they choose to leave but I do wish him well.
I don't think it was necessary to write a 50 paragraph in-depth article about a kid who doesn't even play for tOSU. Wait, it was just a couple of sentences? Well, still ...
"I run fast. Don't care. I jump high. Don't care. You're a pain in the ass."
It. Is. Time.
Well that's a shame for him. Hope he figures it out.
Les Miles is going to take a team vote tomorrow on whether to give him a scholarship......
"Because I couldn't go for 3"
"I couldn't stand him, and I'm glad he's gone. He's not a guy you want on your team. He refused to listen to the coaches, strength coaches, academic people, and couldn't follow our team rules that every school has and started fights with players. Coach Marrow is the best guy out for when it comes to relating to guys with that kind of attitude and calming them down and he couldn't even handle Marcelys."
There you have it
