Hope he finds what he is looking for. We will be just fine.

Man that's a helluva lot better than what Jones allegedly said on his way out. Class move Terrell
man this kinda sucks
Sucks. Good luck.
I think some poster actually called this a week ago. Sucks but we will be fine. If there is anything we have learned since Urban got here, it's that he generally gets players just as good or even better after someone de commits.
Well thats not good news. Like fans, recruits need to stop paying attention to recruiting rankings. Every single recruit in every recruiting class has potential to be a starter one day. Stars are decided by a group of guys, most of which never played football past high school, and ranks players based on their site-sponsered camps. If Hall doesnt feel like he can compete with Bosa and Cooper, then this is the best move for all parties involved.
To help back up my point check out these lower ranked recruits who is starting over their higher ranked class mate.
Pat Elflien (82 overall) was the lowest ranked recruit in the class. 2 years later he was getting major minutes in the Michigan and B1G Championship Game, and has become a top NFL draft prospect.
Michael Thomas (81 overall) is on the verge of being a 1st round pick, and was a big reason we beat Bama. Ranked ahead of him in that class was Frank Epitropulous (89 overall) and Riquan Southward (87 overall)
The 2nd lowest rated commit in this class was Darron Lee (89 overall). As a LBer he has played much more than other LBer recruits in his class, Trey Johnson (94 overall), Chris Worley (90 overall), and Mike Mitchell (94 overall). I realize Mitchell never got a chance, but it just shows that anything can happen, and the guy you came in with may not be there forever.
Every time I have heard Urban talk about who will replace Bosa, he always brings up a surprise name. The lowest rated commit in the class, Darius Slade (84 overall). This class is way too early to even include in this post, but he has caught the coaches eye so far, and we will see how it goes from there.
Noah Brown was the 4th ranked WR in the 2014 class, but managed to make one of the biggest plays of the title run...the block that sprung Zeke free. He is now is serious consideration to earn a starting spot this season.
If you're referring to the 85 yds run that was Evan Spencer delivering the crucial block

Thanks for the good post. In reality, a recruiting service tends to focus more often than not on tangibles. There are many examples where a young man with a tremendous work ethic, football smarts, and a refusal to lose has prepared himself for the moment of opportunity and excels. The young men you cited are excellent examples of that. Go Bucks!
Unless there's information out there that I've missed, let's not speculate on why he decommitted. It is what it is, and everyone involved will move on and be better than fine.
let's not speculate
First time reading one of my post?
With Hall, I think confidence in himself is one of the things he doesn't lack. So I have a hard time believing it was because of competition.
Bama just got in his ear and impressed him more. Just because a recruit decommits from the Buckeyes doesn't always mean he was afraid of competition. Wish him well and move on. All we can do. It opens up a scholarship for another player at a position we might need more than the stacked position of DE. Bosa/Cooper seem like the perfect duo, maybe this is a blessing in disguise.

Only reason I brought up the stars and rankings, is because I remember reading that opposing coaches are using his ranking to recruit against OSU.

Can't fault a kid for wanting to make sure it's the right spot for him.

Possible replacements? Sammons?

Hard to be upset about much on the Dline with Bosa and Coop in the fold. Buckeyes will be just fine.
So we lose this kid and Urban goes out and picks up another 4-star player. The sky truly is falling.

Wow... he always says he is the #1 DE in the country yet he is afraid of our depth coming in?
Our Honor Defend
Who said he was afraid? Stop. Just stop.
Damn, I thought beating Bama would help us on the recruiting trail against them
Let's not jump the gun. It's just speculation on our part that's where he ends up.
Do we flip Robertson from MSU or has that ship sailed? Or even Josh King?
Ive always liked Robertson. Kid is a beast and WANTED to be a Buckeye. I take that kid anyday!
BUT i feel the ship has sailed.
Was it Robertson who is good friends with Austin Mack? Maybe that can help salvage the relationship
No biggie. Urban will get someone else, Prince Sammons comes to mind.
"I kind of pulled back, and I think I pulled something." Orlando Pace
Poop. As long as we keep bosa and Cooper and add Jackson I'm ok
If he ends up at MD or another northern school it won't sting so much but if he ends up in Tuscaloosa it won't feel very good at all.
Ya especially IF he left because of bosa and cooper, not like Bama would be lacking talent. (He did say Saban sold him on the whole im an SEC caliber player)
I'd love to flip Auston Robertson or Josh King from Sparty, if we can.
Harbaugh puts ketchup on his steak.
maybe FNL showed him what he would be up against and he didn't like it.
I could care less if he stays or leaves...he gots to know his limitations.

Thanks Teach. Things like this is the main reason I like 11W. The holier than you people. the smarter than you people. need I go on.
You may if you wish. "Could care less" is just one of my pet peeves, and I find the graphic quite amusing. I'm sure that I've made some mistakes on here and gotten called out. It's all in good fun. Just gotta learn to take it all in stride.
Bout to tweet him and call him an idiot.
Must be a newb that DV you bass here ya go +1
I said several months ago, if this guy decommits, I won't be disappointed in losing him as much as disappointed about the guys osu passed on because hall was taking a spot.
Good point. But its part of recruiting, kids decommit all the time.
Ohio State wants these kids to come in and compete. I wish the young man the best. Maybe he will change his mind and decide that he wants to compete against the best in practice every day. I loved having him as part of this class. I could envision all of these D lineman rotating in with fresh legs.

Best of luck to Terrell Hall.
I had to run away high, so I wouldn't come home low...
Could it be karma that Dylan Moses has decommited from LSU. Top LBer for 2017 and there are none committed. I would like to see Urban pull this one from the South.
I still think he goes to LSU. He's from Baton Rouge, LA. He wants to stay close to home so his family can see him play. Les Miles offered him when he was in 8th grade. He is the #1 player in his class and i think he just wants to enjoy the recruiting process a little bit.
So as I read it he is opening up his recruitment again. I still think there is a chance that he still comes to Ohio State. He has really good relationships with our coaches and he may soon realize we are his best solution. He committed once so he surely can again. I just hope he finds what he is looking for no matter where he goes.
I guess he could. Usually once they de-commit though, they almost never come back, at least from what I have seen. Hope he does but I would bet Urban already has a contingency plan in place...It will definitely be interesting!
Just goes to show you that recruiting is moving way too fast on both ends of the spectrum
Watch what his buddy Abdul Adams does now. I bet he leaves sparty for bama too (if hall does) and then sparty full-court presses George hill.
Cant help but wonder if Cooper getting a fifth star and all this hype might have swayed him away. I mean, I think he was hoping it would be him that skyrocketed up the rankings the way Cooper did. And now he's the 3rd highest rated DE in his recruiting class being left out of at least 60% of the comments mentioning how deadly our Dline would be if we could get Gary or another highly rated DT. I mean, he believes he is the best DE in the country, and he's the forgotten man in this class due to our success lately. He could be the talk of just about any other teams recruiting class and I think that he's feeling a little overshadowed. I've even commented on this subject in the past about how we need to quit leaving him out of the discussion when it comes to how awesome our Dline hall is this year. I hope he comes back, but if the reasons I listed are why he did this, then I must say I dont think he really believed he was the #1 DE in the country.
We beat Bama, and Indiana beat Mizzou!
Has more to do with overall depth with, Holmes, Cornell, Hubbard, Jones, Cooper, Bosa and maybe Berry.
Dont forget slade and Lewis they will be good as well. I believe they are starting Berry at the TE position first
I think he comes back for some reason just a hunch. That is unless his spot is filled and he can not.
That won't be happening
Nicholas l Ernst
Wish him all the best but
