Better there than Cleveland. Awesome to get back home and play in front of family and friends.
A few years ago I was organizing a golf tournament for the New Orleans Bar Association and Lexis was one of the big sponsors. As we're setting things up, this Lexis higher up guy sees my block O cap and asks if I'm an Ohio State fan. Thankfully, I wasn't a jerk and enthusiastically told him that I was. He then asks what I think of A.J. Hawk and I had nothing but wonderful things to say. He then tells me that he's A.J.'s Dad. I was floored of course.
Nothing cleanses the soul like a no call pass interference.
He is from Centerville, OH. Elk Pride.
The road to nowhere leads to me...
He was born in Kettering, but I understand the need to cite Centerville, so I'll amend it.
Los Angeleno by birth; Marionaire by the Grace of President Warren G. Harding.
There is some tension between in those parts over such misunderstandings.
Damn straight, Go Firebirds!
Being born in Kettering is more of a technicality...the hospital he was born in was located in Kettering, but the family lived in Centerville.
There's my serial downvoter. Good to see you're alive and well!
Don't you mean Elks* pride? Classic GWOC mascot joke. Although I'm pretty sure it has since been added to the dictionary as an acceptable plural form of elk. So, I guess Cville is now off the hook for that one.
Every year on Thanksgiving I'm thankful for the same thing: my parents leaving Detroit for Ohio before I was born.
Not a Cinci fan but happy they picked him up. Love watching Bucks in the NFL.
We train to fight and we fight to win.
I am a Cincy fan of the most epic proportions. Have been since I was a toddler, so naturally, I despise the Brownies. lol
Good to see AJ get to move closer to home and play in front of a home fanbase again.
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0
Ditto - not enough jungle love on 11W - we always have to take crap from the proletariat here. Nice to see AJ return home, thats the only Buckeye jersey I have!
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
don't you mean Kentucky? Covington's team.
Almost rather him go the Stillers

OI. i'll reck u proper, m8 i swear on me mum i will
but seriously, It's the offseason. I can't help who I grew up rooting for. Bengals, Brownies, let's all just get along. For like a week. ish.
Awesome! Taft was governor when I last resided in Ohio.
Welcome home AJ. Who Dey! I hope AJ has something left in his tank to help the Bengals get over the first round hump.
Its good to be the king
Can he play QB?

It's great to be a Bengals fan today!! [most of the time, it's utter frustration]
@SM_Chi - regarding the playoffs, I can see the frustration, but at least they field a competitive team. Been here in Arizona 18 years, and used to follow the Browns. They have been so laughable, I'm considering becoming a Cardinals fan.
Congrats to the Bengals on a GREAT Buckeye coming home!

I'll be buying that jersey! Welcome home!!!!!!!!

And Birm jumps for joy.
was hoping he'd go to the Browns...

Yessssss!!!!!!!! Everyone yapping on Cincy jungle about his PFF grades but he's solid in run support and had a lot of leadership in GB. I'm stoked, Go Bengals but always first and foremost, Go Bucks!
"Illegitimi non carborundum"
Dude, there are several people on CincyJungle that are complete effing idiots... I used to read/comment there (alot) until I just couldn't take the dissenting cry-baby shit anymore. I had an epic comment debate/argument for about 2 months leading up to last years draft. I was promoting Roby in the first round and 90% of the people there were blasting on Bradley, saying that he was overrated and a loser. I was quick to point out his superior athleticism and his ability to lay the boom stick in run support, but to no avail. We all know how that played out for Cincy/Denver. The Broncos got an immediate starter/playmaker and my Bengals drafted another "project" corner..... Goes to show how football savvy some of the readers are there. I wouldn't put any stock at all in the shit that half of the commenters there say.
Bungles. Go figure.
Couple of things. In regards to AJ I think he is a much better fit in a 4-3 defense vs a 3-4 defense that he has been playing. I don't have huge expectations but I expect he will play better. You are right a lot of people on the Bengals MB are pretty lame. Especially when it comes to Ohio State and their players, lot of hate (or as I see it misplaced jealousy). With Roby vs Dennard you are right that Roby has made an impact where Dennard has not but I believe a lot of that has to do with how Marvin Lewis handles rookies (I would not be shocked had the Bengals drafted Roby he would have spent most of the season the same way Dennard did) I would have been more than happy with either of the two. This website is much more friendly than Jungle Noise.
As a kid growing up when he played at The Ohio State University, A.J. was my favorite player. As I started to play football I tried to model my playing after him. I am definitely buying a jersey. Welcome home A.J.!!!!!!

So glad to see AJ land on his feet…and back in Ohio!

Bengal's D just got a serious upgrade! Hope he does well.
I have long ago forgiven him for going to "That School Down South".
( Centerville, that is... )

Glad to see the Ohio guys come back home.
Very nice pick up for the Bengals - glad he has some extra in the tank still.
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssss! Love this deal!
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.
I Believe In Ohio State.
Great to have AJ back in the great state of Ohio... even if it's for the Bengals! But seriously welcome home AJ! Hopefully he can swing by Columbus a little more often now!
We will fight to the end for OH-IO!
Good for him! Glad to see A.J. return to his home state.
Speaking of A.J., does anyone else think it would have been kinda funny if he had played for the Kansas Jayhawks?
I'm not finished! Before we let you leave, your commander must cross that field, present himself before this army, put his head between his legs, and kiss his own arse.
I'm a huge Packer fan and AJ was always a class act in Green Bay. He had a great work ethic and never missed a game. I always wished he would come back to Green Bay as a strength and conditioning coach or assist. Best of luck in Cincinnati AJ!
Packer fan here too. Agree completely. AJ gave Green Bay his best for 9 years, but lots of people there didn't appreciate him for his solid, consistent play and leadership. He's not flashy, just a good solid football player. He'll do well in Cincy.
The people who don't appreciate his contribution are morons. He played for nine years and missed two games. TWO GAMES!!! On top of that, he was a defensive captain for a big portion of his time there; calling all the defensive plays (including the SB year). Sorry for this mini rant but he does not get some of the credit he is due (not talking to you) and it chaps my ass.
Welcome home A.J.!!! Not a Browns or Bengals fan but just love seeing A.J. remain in the league!
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
Big Packers fan here. Sad to see him go, has an amazing work ethic. Really glad to see him picked up for another few years.
Pay it forward
Welcome home AJ

May have list a step over the years, but he'll be a smart add to the bengals. They need a leader...now they have one.
Glad my boys finally have one of my favorite Buckeyes.
Confidence is the stain they can't wipe off
That sucks. Glad he is still playing, but that is the third worst choice after Pittsburgh and Baltimore. And I hope he does well.
