Looks like the first pic is the 'under armor' (whatever adidas calls it) shirt.
If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special.
I think he means undershirt/compression shirt (worn underneath the uniform..and is usually sweat wicking)

i dont get what this is in reference too, but i stopped reading bill simmons when he created Grantland.

hell im a 90s kid, my love for jim ross is seared into my heart.
I like the helmets. The rest is adidas so not much more needs to be said.

Awesome. Sure wish we would quit cross-dressing in the cloths of The Greek Goddess, and go with Adidas ,or UA. Time to BUCK UP BOT. GO BUCKS!
I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.
You are the only person I've ever heard say you'd rather OSU be an Adidas or Under Armour school than Nike.
I would, but I hate Nike. Literally the only clothes I own with a swoosh on them are either Scarlet or Gray.
I've got a pretty awesome black with scarlet trim Nike breathable hoody. You would make an exception I think.
Can't say I echo that thought. Just remember the zubaz style basketball uniforms from the last couple of years anytime you wish that evil upon our fine university.
Just because he dislikes Nike he gets DVed? Wow.
STAHP IT ADIDAS.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Is that denim?
I'm pretty sure those are either sweat pants or long underwear he's wearing. W.T.F.!
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster...
Um, is that jersey crocheted?
If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. ~ Bruce Lee
I still have no clue why any schools even consider wearing adidas. Especially with the evolution of Under Armour.
I have friends who are Notre Dame fans and Tennessee fans and both of those schools have left Adidas within the past year and signed on with Under Armour (ND) and Nike (UT), although UT's contract with Adidas doesn't officially end till 2015. Needless to say, my friends are pretty happy about the change.
Here's an interesting tidbit for everyone: With ND and UT leaving Adidas, Michigan is the highest profile school and has the largest contract with them.
It does make the world go 'round last I checked, DJ.
The pattern on the upper part of the jersey gives it a little too much of an "ugly sweater" feel for me
I like that second jersey with 'Louisville' spelled out on the front. Adidas usually makes some terrible jerseys (think about those atrocious zumba basketball jerseys two seasons ago), but this one is good.
I remember when I was a kid and my dad was getting his car painted. I went with him to select colors, and I was enamored with this ridiculous color of blue. A color of blue that would have worked perfectly on a clown car… but not so much on the family sedan. I learned then that kids shouldn't be allowed to decide what's appropriate and/or tasteful, because they have no clue about such things. Same thing with this inane, ridiculous uniform bullshit. Just stop it. Here's what we wear. If you don't like it, or if you want to wear a different uniform every week then go to Oregon. Sigh...
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
I got an idea, go ahead and tweet that to every recruit that is interested in OSU.
because they are the "kids" who think this stuff is cool and they are the "kids" that you want playing for Ohio State.
but your opinion means so much more than theirs I guess.
BTW, Oregon is by far not the only program doling out multiple uniforms. Get with the times.
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
I totally understand the argument that recruits love alternate uniforms so the rest of us should deal with it. However, I'd argue that I don't really want a recruit choosing my school simply because of uniforms. I'd rather they make more mature and rational decisions.
If it was Josh Sweat you would. If Josh Sweat or Justin Hilliard said I want to go to OSU for the ice cream they give players, you would be fine with that. Don't act like you would hate a top recruit who chose OSU for the wrong reasons as long as he can play great football and get good grades. Please!
We are talking about added emphasis in getting attention. I'm not talking about kids selecting programs just because of a jersey. I'm talking about the flashy new jerseys get publicity. They get noticed. Even if they are the ugliest thing ever created (Maryland), people talk about it and it gets recognition.
Obviously a winning program is the ultimate pull for a recruit, but some programs have to get their attention first. We are talking about 18 yr old kids who idolize shoes that Lebron wears. If he wore clown shoes, these "kids" would run out and buy a pair if they had Lebron's name on it.
You might not like it, but you still see it. And the more people go "omg, these are the most hideous things ever", more people will see them. If DJ didn't upchuck on these jerseys above, you or many of us wouldn't have even known they existed. That is marketing! That is what football programs care about, not your taste.
Yes, because Alabama's recruiting is really hurt by them not have flashy alternate uniforms.
obviously winning trumps all in getting top caliber recruits but as long as recruits ogle new uniforms teams will create and use them. Not every program is Alabama, they have to find other ways to bring in talent. Especially teams like Louisville and Baylor.
Fine, you don't want to listen to me on this. Go ahead and speak to the football programs that believe it is helping them attract better football talent. The point is, the football programs care more about what those "kids" think than what you think. That is the fact.
I'm pretty sure they won't wear the one with the gigantic L on it. Still, its not really that great either way.
I did like their all blacks with the flat black helmet and chromed out red bird. I know a lot of people don't like alternate unis but I really want OSU to have an all black uni with the flat black helmet. Maybe not a chrome block O on the helmet but I would love the red stripe down the middle and some red buckeyes all over the helmet.
of course we have discussed this many times before. lol
From looking at the first pic and the ones after it, I'm think that big L shirt is the 'base layer' that'll go under the uniforms.
I think the TTUN should have that big "L" uniform since Adidas already has the machinery set up.
There is no such thing as "friendly fire"..
Pretty sure the first picture with the old English L is the base layer (i.e., under armor like item).

I totally missed that comment too, and I was looking for someone to say it. Sorry. Have an upvote.
In fairness, I like the helmets.
I thought the first picture was it at first and was like "OMG WTF STOP IT, GO HOME UL YOU'RE DRUNK, THAT'S TERRIBLE".
Then I saw the actual jersey. It's still a "Go home UL, you're drunk" but it isn't as bad.
Class of 2010.
The L logo and helmets are the only good thing about this. Wearing sweaters and long johns on the field is not a smart idea talk about dehydration.
The actual uniform isn't bad. I do like the helmet.
The Big L?? Even as an undershirt…..woof!
Do less, Adidas, do less.
Adidas has become the fat girl that hangs out with all the cute girls at parties. She knows damn well, she's not going to get the best of the best, but she will get some decent table scraps, no matter how ridiculous or drunk she gets.
Go home fat adidas, youre drunk.
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Are you the best of the best?
Maybe a finger and a thumb in the shape of an "L" on the helmet forehead would make for a Smash Mouth uniform, Adidas? Hey now you're an All Star, get your game on, go play.
Upvote for reference that takes me back to the 90's that doesn't make me sad.
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
I think as a whole they look very bad up close. However, in a game, uniforms are usually seen from far away and these won't look that unusual while plays are actually happening. Also, individually I don't completely hate either the jersey or the helmet, but either one should go with a plain black helmet or jersey rather than each other.
Or it is possible that my bar is just extremely low for adidas products after those atrocious Michigan jerseys hit the internet.
I don't think Adidas necessarily has bad designers, I think they're just trying too hard.
Why would they wear these pajamas to a football game?
Those uniforms should be modeled by Kellen 'Soldier' Winslow.
A bit much, but not as bad as some have said. Adidas really does try too hard with a lot of this stuff. First picture is definitely a compression shirt & helmets are very cool.
Get busy living.
“Being average means you are as close to the bottom as you are to the top.” John Wooden
I don't understand the whole alternative uniform stuff. I get that teams are trying to copy Oregon because recruits apparently want to wear the brightest and loudest jerseys, but some of these are ridiculous. As I've heard Spielman say: "Just give me a shirt and I'm good."
