TTUN fans are entering the portal everyday.
I am thinking one of our TE and maybe a WR after spring if they are passed by the 4 incoming guys but you never know.
This is the correct way to discuss this topic.
The offseason is the longest season.
Yea not really sure why some people feel the need to put some kid on blast who in their opinion is underperforming like they have any clue what’s going on in the day to day for the football program blows my mind.
I thought it was an unwritten rule to stay away from this topic on the forum. Or is it to just stay away from names?
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Not sure why I got downvoted but it was meant as a honest question I had. I know the 11W writers have said that they will stay away from naming names but I also know their rules are not our rules.
Media shouldn't talk about transfers. We're fans though so anything is fair game for us.

I can think of 2 WR that may or may not hit the portal.
I was thinking Elijah Gardner!
Those who say they can and those who say they can't are both right. Which one are you?
His forward passes always seemed to enter the transfer portal
His forward passes would have ended up 4 rows in the bleachers of team transfer portal

Seriously folks. We can grow up and not be like TTUN.
Football is a religion in Ohio. We attend our service every fall on the banks of the Olentangy. A place we affectionately call "the shoe".
Growing up is not the problem. It is the subject matter of the post. Not cool.
Not sure why I snagged some downvotes for commenting on the nature of the subject considering each and every offseason this subject pops up and it is widely agreed it is in poor taste and can teeter into subjects that warrant MODs closing post.
SOhioBuck, Methinks what the posters are trying to say here is that your thread is tacky and very disrespectful to the players. I agree.
If you have two people that agree on everything, that only means one of them is not thinking at all.
Oldebucke, no disrespect intended to any of the players. I wish all these young guys well now and in the future. Also, I can see and appreciate your thoughts on the subject. I hope others can as well, especially when so many intentionally blast players.
You win Thursday. Laughed to tears. Bravo Toad!
You never lose to those pricks. Ever. Ever.
Antuan Jackson (though he's already done it once), Gardner, Harris, McCall, one of Gant/Mitchell/Pope, maybe a TE.
Antwuan Jackson is in line for increased PT this upcoming season with Landers, Hamilton, and Cornell all graduating so I doubt he's going anywhere (especially since he was a JUCO transfer once already). Jackson will very likely be part of the DT rotation with Tommy Togiai, Taron Vincent, and Haskell Garrett.
As far as the WRs go I think Babb is more likely to transfer than Harris or Gardiner just because his bad luck with injuries has put him so far behind the eight ball here.
Babb is more likely to retire and take a medical hardship waiver than he is to transfer. He's had 4 different season-ending leg injuries.
I’m hoping he turns out to be like Johnnie Dixon. Feel so bad for him.
Exactly.. Jackson would be a fool to transfer because of playing time now. Its his time...
While I normally would never speculate who might transfer (as stated above, it's usually disrespectful to the players since we're essentially saying they aren't good enough to play here), I do wonder about the future of the scat-back position filled by players like DMC and Jaelen Gill. So far, it seems like Ryan Day's offense doesn't necessarily cater to that skillset much. I know we had Parris Campbell in 2018 that kind of filled that role, but this past season certainly didn't involve anything like that.
DMC and Gill are, without a doubt, talented enough to play here. But, it doesn't seem like the offense is a good fit for them. Would love to be wrong though.
Gill is impossible to judge at this point. He plays the same position as our schools all time reception leader, so he really hasn't had a chance to play much yet. I guess we'll see this year.
We got a glimmer of what he can do in this offense on that run against Rutgers. Dynamic with the ball in his hands. I just don't know how natural he is as a route runner.
Yea but everyone looks good against Rutgers. Tathan went 10/10 against them last year. Chugs had 2 TD passes against them this year.
I even picked up a three yard run for a first down. High point of my buckeye career (but I've still got three years left!)
Wargor = Gunnar Hoak
I was just making things up, but that's pretty close, looking at the stats. Though it looks like he didn't get the first down.
Speaking of Tathan and possible 2020 portal travelers...
Yea but everyone looks good against Rutgers
Our 2s and 3s on Defense sure as hell did not look good - as I was freezing my ass off watching them.
And Chugs, in front of his hometown peeps could have been even better, but I was glad to see him get some PT in his home state.
BB, it’s true about Gill being behind Hill. But another reality is that Day is no longer featuring the H WR like Meyer did, targeting and throwing to them ad naseum, while asking the other WR positions to primarily block. Instead, OSU now has a modern day offense and I absolutely love it!
I heard Tate’s coming back
So two schools of thought on posing this question:
It's a valid offseason topic, especially in the xfer portal age.
The speculation thing can easily get under the skin, takes on who may go (or worse, who should go) are often precarious.
I don't have any names, but there's always offseason attrition...we know this.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
There are times where the worst thing that can be spread is misinformation
Anyone who’s been on campus 2+ years and hasn’t made any headway towards significant playing time is a potential transfer.
Also, based on the amount of success a lot of transfers have had after leaving OSU, I’d say this topic isn’t as taboo as it may have been.
Exactly. Discussing specific players who you think might leave is in poor taste.
Looking for positional logjams, experienced+no clear path to the playing field, and getting recruited-over are good indicators. Even then there are still surprises where none of the indicators are met.
There are some specific rooms with highly recruited guys who aren't close to the two-deep. It doesn't take a savant to figure out which rooms are likely to have movement.
Absolutely spot on. I'd guess nobody playing QB, RB, LB, or DB but I would expect WR, DL, and OL being potential groups seeing some losses from players such as Kamryn Babb, Jaylen Harris, Max Wray, Ellijah Gardiner, or Jerron Cage.
Nothing is too difficult for the person that doesn't have to do it.
damn, jacking my thread from last night so quickly, huh
Sorry, Oprettyricky . . . just saw your thread (The Numbers Game).
This is totally different, 'cause "transfer portal" wasn't mentioned in your title.
That you, Waycracken?
Tate Martell to Oklahoma to be a Heisman finalist
this would be my face if that happened
Over the GOAT Spencer Rattler? Not a chance lol.
Tate to the portal was cliched last night. He just got bumped a peg lower in Mee-amm-Mee

I'm hearing a lot of rumblings that Tuf Borland could be entering the portal:)
If I were a player and got the kind of abuse he gets from the team's fan base, I might consider it.
a 2 time captain/starter? im calling bullshit
Lol. He actually might be slower than Storm Klein who was easily the worst MLB in 30 years to start until a fullback - Boren took his place.
Borland- a good kid but not a below average player that can occasionally have a decent game against a team like Army who runs the ball between the tackles. He is just limited athletically as the LBs the last 2 years just cant pursue well or make big plays. That Queen guy from LSU showed what the Buckeyes need at LB.
I'd say a LB. Only graduating Harrison and having signed a couple more is going to make for a very crowded room.
I could see at least one LB leaving but we're also losing at least three LBs (maybe 4 depending on what type of season Browning has in 2020) after next season so spots will open up for the younger guys in 2021.
Yeah but 3 of those "younger guys" will be SRs by then
Had high hopes for K.Babb but injury bug has taken effect on him .
This is very possible but I think he'll at least stick around through spring ball since multiple CB spots are up for grabs and no doubt he'll be given a chance to compete for at least one of them.
It's a big offseason for CBs
Waiting for spring ball is a good point. Players could see where they stand relative to off season development, injuries, better/worse positional log jams. More importantly for some, they could be closer to graduating and getting immediate PT.
Maybe there’s a pattern. December—players who have a chance to join a top team enter portal to get one of last schollies. Jan/Feb—younger guys who see the new class coming in, are not close to graduating, so get an early start elsewhere. April/May—guys where lost close position battles like Burrow, and older players about to graduate.
I think in today's world this is a discussion worth having if gone about the right way. We don't need to put specific kids on blast but this is a big part of major college football now and would be ignorant to simply ignore this. That being said. we will see at least one guy leave from each of these position groups: WR, OL, LB, DB, and maybe a TE
I don't think it will be that many, otherwise we would have let Gibbs visit.
Maybe 3 more transfer out or aren't here for a 5th year, then we leave one spot for an incoming transfer.
Gleitman mentioned in passing in A-Deck that Wint could be on his way out. He's now a RS Senior, right? So staff isn't obligated to give him 5th year here necessarily
Sorry, I really dont think its fair to the kids in the program to speculate like that. Clearly though, there will be attrition. Its impossible for there not to be.

Not gonna name any names here but I'd take a look through the Scholarship Grid under the Football heading. Any Seniors or Juniors who are not in the two-deep may look elsewhere for some playing time. Some just love being a Buckeye though.
Fields of Dreams
Jaylen harris and jake hausmann also
Hausman will be a senior, and gets PT. He won't start, but I really doubt he leaves at this point in time. As for Harris, spring ball will tell a lot-this year is his chance to grab meaningful PT.
There is a rumor that Hafley is on the list as well.
The coaching staff is feverishly working on it.
Eh it's tough to speculate on what other people are thinking.
A couple receivers maybe, tight end also. I could see maybe some offensive linemen going also, especially with what we have coming in with Paris Johnson.
Defensive back room will be interesting through spring ball, might see movement after that. Linebackers, hopefully more athletic backers get a shot. Defensive line I don't see any movement, since they rotate so much plenty of pt to go around
Ellijah Gardiner, Marcus Williamson, Jake Hausmann, Jahsen Wint, Jaylen Harris, Gavin Cupp, and Max Wray all seem like possible transfer candidates.
