Thanks for the link - though, to be honest when I first read the thread title I saw "Phantom RB..." and immediately got excited.
After reading your review, though, I can't say I'm less intrigued.
Lol! The high school team that looked like Michigan that he was schooling probably thought he WAS a phantom!
That WAS the Michigan team he was running through...
Lots of ‘phenoms’ have come and gone.
I know you’re a critic, Rill. Keep your eye on this one regardless of where he ends up.
True, but there should be a steady stream of em coming and going though Ohio State..
This recruiting thing just gets interesting and interestinger!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
Geography lessons are needed for all if the kid wants to stay close to home. Columbus is 100 miles closer than Baton Rouge to Dalton, GA. Virtually due north of it (people forget how far west Georgia is).
So if staying close to home is the #1 priority it would seem that Bama would have the inside track. The comment in the article is about staying close to home not about wanting to stay in the South.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
It's ironic that you talk about geography lessons and still say Georgia is west...
The juice is worth the squeeze
Atlanta is farther to the west than Columbus is. Cincinnati and Atlanta, in fact, are basically both 84 degrees west latitude.
That would be longitude.
I did not say it is west, I said it is further west than people realize. Most people think that because it is on the East Coast that it is due south of the eastern part of Virginia and North Carolina. Georgia borders the Central time zone.
Just giving you a hard time Philly. I am never one to correct people. I went to Columbus public schools.
I can work with that. I give my wife plenty of opportunities to practice her correction skills on a daily basis.
Geography is needed for all as Georgia is EAST of Louisiana and not SOUTH or WEST. Wooooooooo

Philly, this is from Birm on 12/31:
That speaks to what has long been the expectation with Gibbs: He is most likely to stay in the south for college.
Thanks, article link only mentioned wanting to stay close to home.
There is a Columbus Georgia he maybe confused ? Not impossible as the cat said in the God Father but the same results I feel.
Been there. Started up a new manufacturing plant just north of there in LaGrange. Summer heat index was regularly in the 115 to 120 range.

"Captain, over here, I've found someth... AHHHH!!!!!!"
The theme is “so you’re telling me there’s a chance”. The post makes it clear it’s a long shot.
Wouldn't it be an easy sell to show him tape of our OL - who are in fact going to kill everyone next year??

Ohio State should be beating top flight running backs off eith a stick with our history
Birm has said that Gibbs tried to replace his Ohio State visit with a visit to LSU since his theoretical initial scheduled visit to LSU would have been during the recruiting dead period. Birm also has said that Gibbs would probably stay committed to Georgia Tech before flipping to Ohio State. It seems to be a very small chance that he comes North but once a player gets on campus, you never know. Birm has said that Gibbs is a very long shot so I won’t get my hopes up.
I think this visit is more just a "checking things out." If Gibbs flipped I would be totally shocked, but it'd be a great get.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
There are countless things that could happen on the trip. Since little is known about his mind set, things like him and his family fall in love with the campus and it's educational draw, the depth chart or the use of the RB and even the coaches and players. Without the visit ,no chance so this is good news no matter how you look at it.
Exactly. We’ve had more shocking commits from higher rated guys we had recruited less.
This is an unusual comparison, but his elusiveness in the open field reminds me of Braxton Miller. He's very shifty. It's not a jump cut, but his cut is deadly. He knows exactly where the space is.
And if you're looking for one of the best RB highlight reels of all time, do yourself a favor and go back into the vault and watch Maurice Clarett's tape. The first 7 minutes or so are him ripping off 70+ yard TDs. I remember hearing a ridiculous legend that he only got tackled less than 10 times his senior year. If you watch his tape, you'll understand.
I played defense in a scrimmage against Clarett. He scored on his first 5 touches. Im not sure we ever even laid a finger on him.... he was amazing
I’ll have to check that out. Sounds incredible.
I watched Mo play in a game against t top 25 team in the country and he had 300 yards in the first 10 carries. He ended with 404 yards and I think he would have had more but it was a beat down.
You are correct, Salty. These are some damn fine highlights of Mo:
That was insane. I had never seen that before. I’ve never seen so many touches result in straight TDs on a highlight reel before.
OSUCOM 2008 Graduate. Go Bucks!
Clarett is THE most insane running back I've ever seen. I really think he could have reached GOAT status if he kept his head straight.
What sadden me is we have a Two time Hiesman and could have had 2 more that could have joined him. If Clarett would have not listened to Brown and stayed he would have won 2 maybe even three then Robert Smith is the Other one that could have been great but his claim that Couch Elliot wanted him to spend more time working out than going to class only to leave after getting Elliot fired then end up leaving only to end up in the Booth doing games. I still hold that against him and have never forgiving him for that to this day...
Damn it feels good to be a Buckeye
I'm sure he'll love the weather in Columbus in January.
Let's wait and see if this visit even goes down.
Gibbs looks like a very good back on tape. My concern with Gibbs is his size. He's listed at 5'11 195 but from seeing him in the AA practices, he looks tiny. Reminded me of McCall. And as much as i like McCall, he hasnt been able to find a way onto the field which i believe is due to his size (and ball security). Hopefully if he does flip to THE, he's as valuable as some believe he will be.
I will be anxious to see who has the better college career. Gibbs, who the fan base seems to be sold on. Or Miyan Williams, who fans moaned and groaned about when we took him. I wouldnt be surprised if its Williams...
LOL Gibbs already looks bigger than McCall
The beauty of the eye test, I guess... they look the exact same to me.
I agree, BBB, a little bigger and faster than McCall. Which, McCall was a great HS player. Not sure what happened to him at OSU but he never reached the potential everyone believed he’d reach. Probably switching back and forth from RB to WR didn’t help.
Probably to small.. he's been on campus long enough to learn both positions. Ie. Berry
Reminded me of McCall too. He looks really small. Very shifty but too small
He’d be lightening to Teague’s thunder. I’m sure he’ll buff up.
Very very frightening.
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
Watch Devin Singletary for the Bills. He's 5'7", 200. Beast.
These guys are all plenty big enough.
A lot can happen in 14 days. Seems to be a lot of drama with this RB class particularly those who are in the SE. For whatever reason, let's see what happens. But as long as Zach Evans is still up in the air...
His highlights look ridiculous, but it's also clear from those clips that he's going up against slow and vastly inferior opponents trying to tackle him. Regardless, I'd love for the good guys to get him, but too many people "in the know" like Birm, AE etc are saying (in my words) "not going to happen".
I don’t recall where I saw it but I believe this was debunked. Any folks from Georgia want to confirm this? Dalton High School in Dalton, Georgia.
Dalton is in far north GA, not far from TN. Pretty rural area, so likely the level of competition isn’t great. Not sure what size his high school is.
5 Star Vonn Bell is from north of Dalton (right at the TN/GA border) and he turned out pretty well.
PS. Nice avatar!
Ok, according to 247, Georgia has the third most talent for 2020 behind only Florida and Texas. Within the state of Georgia, football is divided into 7 classes based on the size of the high school. Gibbs’ high school, Dalton, is in class 6A, which is the the second highest class. So to recap, he plays in the second highest class out of 7 in the state that has the third most talent out of 50 in the nation. I’d said that’s pretty damn competitive.
I don't know anything about GA high school ball, but just because you play in a certain class based on school size in a state that produces lots of talent doesn't mean you play top notch competition each week. If that's a fairly rural part of GA, then odds are he's playing against pretty low level competition most weeks, which is what it appears like in the highlights.
Not discounting Gibb's talent, he looks fast and his cuts look amazing. Just always hard to tell for me from high school clips because you don't know if the other guys on the field are even in the same ballpark as far as physical speed/size/strength goes.
Just because a school is huge or a certain league has big schools don't mean that they are talented, it means they have a lot of kids, now show me highlights of him against playoff competition in Class 6A I would take for granted that it is good competition. Like Stars on recruits usually it means something but often it is misleading. Like Baron Browning being 5 star.
He is OSU’s top RB recruit and is being recruited by all the tops teams in the country. He doesn’t need to prove anything to me.
Honestly, theres not much in the way of High School ball in Northern Georgia. They stomped the local High School Ringgold. I took my kids to a couple games and Ringgold is absolutely horrible. I would say the teams they lost to are the ones you should look at the film on. A guy I work with has a son who went to Heritage which is a local high school and he signed on to play for Fickel in Cincinnati next Fall. The High School talent around here is very weak, every once in a while you get a Vonn Bell or a Gibbs. Its like any other area, sometimes a kid is just athletic and good at sports.
Can’t win the pot if you don’t have a seat at the table…not counting out Day and maybe Fields gets in the kids ear
Justice delayed is justice denied....#FTP
Honestly after the Under Armour game last night I thought EJ Smith looked like the best back I saw play in the game. Another good pickup for Stanford.
On Gibbs, his tape looks like he's got pretty much everything you could want from an elite runner. Would be an exciting pickup if the Bucks landed him, but seems to be a longer shot due to geography.
I honestly don’t understand why Ohio State didn’t recruit Smith more, maybe they knew he wouldn’t come, though.
yea sounded like a guy that is more focused on academics which I mean OSU is good for...but it's not Stanford.
I think we cooled on him when we thought Knighton and Robinson were part of the plan and then by the time we wanted back in, he had moved on a bit. I could be wrong though.
Just don’t see him coming here.
Not sure why that should grant much optimism. He is visiting OSU and that is good, but I would not count on it at all. Just from reading AE and others it seems like it is very unlikely that he heads outside of the South anyway.
Get him on campus and see what happens. Still not sure how we’ve had trouble landing an elite RB since JK. We’ve shown to consistently have a great running game for a very long time. Now you have a very favorable depth chart, and very good Offensive lineman that have been recruited here the last few years. Great QBs, and WRs. The missing piece is a RB. If a kid was thinking of this as a business decision, it seems like a very easy one. Sometimes kids get nervous about going far away from home, like Bijan Robinson. He may very well be great at Texas, but I think everyone knows OSU would’ve been better for him in the long run. Ehlinger has carried the ball more than the RBs have there the last few years. We’ll see how it plays out.
I REALLY wanted Robinson. I was shocked he flipped and STAYED with Texas. We have developed backs WAY better and we have an offense that is proven to be RB friendly.
I know he explained it as "playing closer to home," but he lives in AZ! I hate we missed out on him...
I did too. That one was soul-crushing
I like Robinson, but man I just can't believe he fell for all the stuff Tom Herman fed him. Dude is not trustworthy or elite. That program is not coming back under Herman. There's enough evidence out there that he should have known better and that's why I won't feel sorry for him as he wastes his time there while Texas continues to underachieve.
Wait--I heard that after cruising to victory in the Alamo Bowl, the Longhorns are back?!?!?!?!
Wait--I heard that last year too. Hmmmmmmmm...
Tennessee is back, yo.
Come on Ryan Day flip him!
I guess you get him on campus and maybe have a shot....I mean we just had a guy rush for 2,000 yards and barely played the second half of most games, he has to see how valuable running backs are.
haha, the rumormill is going strong on this one already. :) his film looks very good - would definitely be a welcome addition to the team. hopefully his visit goes well.
Someone on Reddit posted that Gibbs' mom confirmed that he is going to sign with Ohio State. Guess she said so on Instagram?
"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."
Nicholas l Ernst
AE said the post were real, but stuff is being implied from the post that wasn’t actually in there. Who knows?
Where side AE say that, Smitty?
Thank you, sir.
No chance this is real.
Reddit post may be real. Looks like it was on Facebook not Instagram https://m.imgur.com/gallery/5RPO6jS?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&...
I think the poster was Mia Willis on Facebook
I pulled up the FB profile- no sign of the post in question. This is fake, guys.
Family member took it down. Poster on Reddit (who allegedly knows the family) said they were asked to take down the Reddit post.
Because it's fake.
Why is it assumed its fake?
It’s not fake. AE said in the recruiting thread he believes it’s real.
I would assume if it was posted than it would be deleted for obvious reasons
Also the name checks out since Willis is his grandmother’s last name. In my opinion the only way this would be fake is if the Reddit poster photoshopped this, which is probably unlikely
Here’s the Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/OhioStateFootball/comments/ejh9pu/jahmyr_gibbs4...
Him running all over TUN was the best highlight I saw! Get him coach Day!
Interesting to see him playing against Justin Field's high school team. Maybe us having Justin and having the chance to play with him will help sweeten the deal? I know grasping at straws...
Right? I’ll grasp at any straw I can. Selling points for Jahmyr Gibbs:
1) Fellow Georgian Justin Fields at QB
2) OSU Title contender
3) Instant playing time
4) Nearly the entire O-line is returning
5) Day is an offensive genius
6) Alford one of the best
7) Thunder and Lightening = Teague and Gibbs
8) Family atmosphere
9) 1st Round breeding ground
10) Coach Mick - the best in the biz
11) Receiving class is amazing and will compliment the run game.
12) With Justin Fields at QB, stacked at receiver, stacked at O-line, Jahmyr would be the perfect final puzzle piece to an offense that would be unstoppable.
People are asking whether the post means he's signing with Ohio State. I think it does. Here's what it says:
It looks like his aunt posted a picture of him wearing an Ohio State uniform and tagged his mother in the post. Then, in the comments, a family member asks "Ohio State? is that who he selected?", indicating that he was in the process of making a decision and had settled on one school. Then, his mom says "Congrats son. You deserve it" and then "He signs next month. They have a good program. A lot of their players go to the NFL.", talking about one specific program. Which program? The one in the picture, Ohio State. Another couple of family members offer their congratulations later in the comments, further indicating that he's made a decision.
The other question is, is this post current? For his mom to say that he signs next month, I think it has to be, right? With that being said, we have to take it with a grain of salt, because it isn't a public commitment.
Unless him or his family comes out and says it isn't true then I have no reason to to give it at least some credence at this point because it's new information. Of course, it does run against what we've been told about Gibbs and his interest in UGA, so who the hell knows
Would love to be wrong, but not buying it.
Did anyone notice how he out ran players on the team with the ttun replica helmets in various plays?
He's definitely a Buckeye target for sure.
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
Kid reminds me a lot of Dalvin Cook. Effortless explosiveness, shifty, strong, and another gear that 99.99% of guys don’t have.
You see what I see. This ruined any RB film I have watched since as he makes everyone else look so slow.
I agree. Makes film from our other guys look meh. Hope we get this guy!
Nice video - thanks for posting. There are runs where he seems to hit another gear, but only use it when he needed it. I se patience, vision, and a great job of setting up defenders and then bursting with inside cuts rather than just relying on speed to get to the edge. He wants to go North-South. Impressive.
People that know more than me say don’t get you hopes up. Kid has to have some interest into a least seeing what is going on in Columbus to make a January visit, so hopefully the coaches can hit the ball out of the park.
If he was just checking the block, why visit in January? Even if the chance is remote, there has to be some small bit of interest. Hopefully, Day and Alford knock it out of the park.
Tailgate Fare Historical Archive
Right, if I had made my college selection I wouldn’t be coming to Columbus in January, I’d be heading to the University of Hawaii or USC for a free trip.
Gibbs isn't coming to Ohio State from what I read. Not getting Robinson and Knighton really hurt them and they had to settle for some low ranked 3 star running back. Personally, I think they should stick with what they have and hopefully Alford can coach them up. It will be interesting to see how makes the leap this upcoming spring.
It is amazing that a school with guys like Hyde, Zeke, and Dobbins (almost in succession) in, or going to, the NFL and they can't land elite RB recruits. I know Snead didn't pan out, but they still haven't had a big time recruit at RB in back to back recruiting cycles. That's peculiar as hell.
The only thing I can think of is there’s only one ball. Under Day this year, we have focused on the power running game, even having the QB line up under center, which I thought was a penalty. But we are loading up with elite young WRs, and we are recruiting kids a long way from their homes. It wouldn’t be hard to sell them on the fact that they won’t see the ball at OSU nearly as much as they would elsewhere. They won’t be featured like they might elsewhere.
Now, I don’t buy that argument, but I could see where a kid could be sold on the pitch from someone like Herman.
There just be something.
How do you dismiss a 2,000 yard rusher? I'd think that it would be easier to negative-recruit a WR, because there aren't enough passes to go around, but here we are, killing it.
Basically, I can't figure it out. *shrug emoji*
He’s coming here
That's a lot of effort to fake those Instagram messages. Would take a professional graphic designer to do it to that level. Why expend that much effort over a high school football recruit. Looks pretty legit to me.
Buckeye born and bred, Buckeye till I'm dead.
Would take a professional graphic designer to do it to that level.
While I dont think its fake, no it wouldnt take a graphic designer. It would take maybe 5 minutes using inspect element on google chrome and maybe some screenshots/remove background in powerpoint.
The Life Of PABLO
I don’t believe the messages are fake, but people are taking something out of the post that isn’t there. I believe “he’s signing next month” and the remarks about Ohio State are separate thoughts. He is signing to a school next month, and then she talks specifically about Ohio State. Not that he is signing with Ohio State. I think it all lined up perfectly to point in that direction but was unintentional.
They aunt asks tOSU? Mom answers Yes they put a lot of players into the NFL. Replied. Congrats he deserves it.
I'm optimistic too, but it's hard to ignore this and make it look coincidental. But, just because it may be tOSU on January 4th doesn't mean that's where it will be on signing day. I almost always assume when facing sec powers head to head in recruiting we got about a 20% chance. Our chances drastically increased when whatever bridge was burned with Georgia. Their bag guys are heavy weight champs. LSU the new hot chic on the scene also has been known pull out all the stops. We have a better chance than was originally been told. This would be a holy grail haymaker with time expiring.
OMG if we get this kid....would be the most important piece to this class.
Thank you Urban Meyer and Gene Smith
After watching this kid's film, he has the quickest movements I've seen in awhile. Very fast acceleration too but it looks very smooth and automatic like a damn video game. His jukes are small but his timing is off the charts. This looks like it would allow to conserve energy for breakaways. He is patient and uses his OL which is key. Looks like an amazing back.
This kid, behind our elite OL, would be a Heisman candidate.
Agreed. Most importantly, he is just a completely different style of runner than any of the other backs we have. Teague and Crowley are equally different as well. I think he would see significant time his freshman year and potentially breakout due to the big play ability. Teague will be just fine against the majority of opponents, but you need a game breaker like Gibbs against the Clemsons of the world.
Yes I agree that we need a game breaker. When Dobbins was out vs Clemson, our offense was definitely not the same. Nothing against Teague. I love Teague, and he is still developing, but need a more all around back vs a Clemson or Bama.
Great HIGHLIGHT TAPE! Good vision, exceptional hips, great burst and in space is very dangerous. But, everything is outside running. The edge defense is a mess in this tape and the video itself is sped up! I have watched high school ball for over 40 years. I see in this tape a guy running clean and very poor defensive play. On multiple occasions there are 2 defenders on the outside unblocked giving up the edge. There are no tough yards reflected. Just to understand I checked and Dalton High School was 7-4 this season, lost 49-18 in the first round of the playoffs and the competition faced was not exceptionally strong. Maxpreps reflects a national rank of 1426.
This young man clearly has skills and potential but until he is up against and playing with similar athletes you never know. The 247 tape has some plays where he lines up outside as a receiver and also posses pass catching skills. Would love to see what he can do if he comes to Columbus.
He just looked even faster against 4 and 5* kids at the all American game. I too doubted the tape. I was wrong. Kid is a 5* sleeper
I do not doubt his speed. He is dangerous in the open field. At the end of the day 80% of touches by running backs need to get yards after contact. He didn't show that today or in his tapes! I hope he comes to Columbus. There are RBs who look for contact, there are RBs who avoid contact and their RBs who make people miss until they can;t make them miss and then they initiate contact to gain 4 or 5 yards.
Time to hit a homerun and land this talented young man..with all we lost early on RBs to flip...its time for OSU to get another Big RB...Dobbins ran all over Clemson until they twisted his ankle in the pile...
Watching him today, this kid is the real f’n deal. I don’t want to get my hopes up here, but if Day & Co. can pull THIS off? Wow.
If they pull this off, would you only predict them to lose half their games? I mean it is your M.O.
Surprised you’re not saying there’s no way Ryan Day will be able to pull this off with all of your negativity.
Dalvin Cook Dalvin Cook Dalvin Cook. Can’t get over how similar these guys look to me
Perfect replacement for Dobbins. Gibbs and Crowley would be a nice RB duo for the next couple of years.
You have seen something in Crowley than I have not seen, the kid is a straight line runner he does not have the feet to jump cut, he is in the same mold as Teague. They round their cuts off they are not shifty at all. Chris Henry was the same way but he was 6' 3 235.
Crowley has better vision and balance than Teague, two of the most important attributes for a running back.
Right!!!!! You got that from his high school tapes? Because he didn't show that this year. What are you basing that on?
Perfect replacement for Dobbins. Gibbs and Crowley would be a nice RB duo for the next couple of years.
Does this mean we can count on you to join the meltdown you've predicted will happen when Gibbs doesn't pick Ohio State?
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
No. I'm cut from a different cloth.
I really tried hard to not get my hopes up. Too late, this is the sleeper RB of this class.
AKA the Horseshoe, the Shoe, and the House That Harley Built
Ugh. I shouldn’t have watched the tape, got my hopes up now. But, we’ve not been able to close at RB lately so will try to temper expectations.
The drive from Dalton to Columbus isn’t bad. We’ll see
I read your comment and gave in to the temptation to watch the tape. My hopes are also up now. Wow
For what it's worth, the kid has no interest in Georgia, even if offered. I read that on this site today. Very interesting.
I figure he'll end up at LSU , they have alot of momentum right now . He would be a great pickup for us thats for sure .
Not if Evans ends up there. And he doesn’t wanna goto Georgia he says. I just don’t believe that when he says it.
He's not giving LSU an OV any more and visiting us instead of them on the 17th. That is notable.
Thought he was visiting them the following weekend the 24th
247 has him going to Florida that weekend. There are 4 weekends before signing day and he was going to go OSU-LSU-UF-GT but per Birm’s article this weekend is during a dead period so he can only take 3 so it’s now OSU-UF-GT. Unless he moved the LSU visit to when he was supposed to go to Florida but I’m not seeing that anywhere.
Need an atomic sized BOOM on this!!
We have tanks in the backfield. But we need a super shifty guy, the one that cut on a dime and Gibbs has those attributes. He would be in an ideal position to start. It is bothersome that schools like Georgia and Bama can sign multiple high ranked running backs in the same class and Ohio State continues to struggles to get that home run kind of back.
The kid's grandmother has been his guardian and raised him since he was young. Not putting much stock into what other family members say on Facebook.
This sounds like a killshot
All Glory is Fleeting
Wasn’t it his grandmother who posted though?
Can they catch him? No they can't, touchdown.
But then I’m pretty sure his grandma commented on it
Thought that was his mom. Idk man haha
Well if anyone knew anything it would be well his family members??
Maybe. We’ll see.
Get him on campus and see what happens. All we can ask for.
He’s been on campus.
He is visiting again later this month, what I’m referring to.
Apparently Ohio State football really needs to start hitting that "grandma" demographic a lot harder if we wanna recruit elite RBs. 0 for 2 on grandma's this cycle alone.
I thought that's why they hired Mattison.
"I may not be able to outsmart too many people, but I can outwork 'em." ~Woody Hayes
I hope Gibbs likes what he sees, but I think we're OK with the backs we have, i.e. we only need two backs to emerge from Teague, Crowley, Steele and Williams. If Gibbs does come here, he should be ultra-confident in his ability to compete.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
This is Ohio State...the goal is not 'to be ok'. The goal is to get the BEST of the best to WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
fans are so weird
Getting Gibbs would be massive. Instant impact player for sure. However, he may want to just go to Georgia Tech, be big man on campus, couldn't fault him for that.
Make the best decision for yourself young man
Successful people do what they have to, whether they feel like it or not
I believe Gibbs actually lives with a foster family of sorts and their own son is going to GT as a preferred walk-on. He previously was with his grandma. Sounds like he hasn't had the easiest upbringing by any means, so hopefully he does well wherever he ends up.

Heartbreaking to hear this. Regardless of where he goes to school and even if he gets paid to play football, it won't make up for what he's already lost.
You never lose to those pricks. Ever. Ever.
He dont look too happy in those photos. I wish every child could have had a good childhood. Mrs Txsbuckeye and I are becoming foster parents with the intention to adopt. We are just waiting on that first call that we are getting kids in our home.
Congratulations to you and Mrs. Txsbuckeye! Thank you for making the world a better place.
East Coast living with Ohio roots
Words of advice from someone in the child welfare field. Please don't get into foster parenting with the purpose to adopt. You will miss so many opportunities if that is your sole purpose.
That sounds rough for the guy. Doesn't live with the parents, lived with grandma and now a foster family. That is alot on anybody. Hope things work out for him either way, rough go of it in early life.
Tony Alford would be the perfect mentor for this kid. I was watching the recent B1G Network segment on his bond with JK Dobbins. Coach Alford is a really special person.
Fields of Dreams
If he doesn’t sign, it can hurt depth. Because, I think Crowley tore ligaments in his knee against Maryland. If that’s the case, he might not be ready for the upcoming season. That leaves Teague, McCall, Williams and Chambers. That’s something Day isn’t comfortable about
I am not sure that is true or not. Having four deep is not bad at all. You rather have a guy like Gibbs but it is not the end of the world if they would not get him. They do need at least two guys next year if they do not though.
Have not heard anything about Crowley one way or the other. It would depend on a number of things about what happened and the recovery times would vary. Not sure I would speculate anything without some more information.
Not speculating about anything?? It was my observation
Saying "I think" and then making a statement without having any sort of evidence is what many would define as speculation.
If Ann Arbor is a whore, what's Harbaugh for going back to her?
You said "I think". Making it an opinion based on something or nothing is not clear. If it was an observation, how do you figure based on just TV views? I assume it was bad or he would not be on the injury report from Maryland through the playoff, but we know nothing for sure about it. Unless something leaked out.
If it is just opinion without some other knowledge it would be speculating.
Maybe I'm missing something, but what injury in the year 2020 requires missing anything more than 8-10 months at the absolute most?
Exactly. In November of his senior year in high school Nick Bosa tore his ACL. He was on the field week 1 of his freshman season here.
Knee ligament injuries are obviously still bad but they aren't what they used to be. The recovery window is down to 6-9 months.
I've seen a high school senior tear his ACL in September and be back for baseball season in March.
I've seen a high school junior tear his ACL in September and be back playing basketball in January.
You can recover from an ACL tear fairly quickly (think Adrian Peterson), but it's not automatic by any means. It really depends on the sport. You can run a marathon with practically no ACL, but being a RB with a lot of lateral movement to the knee makes it more challenging.
Yup, and it also depends on the individual. Some people are faster healers than others. Being young always helps that cause, but some people just take longer to get over the injury and then get into game shape too.
Yeah, if he tore something he'll miss spring ball which sucks, but barring nerve damage he should be 100% by fall practice (would be 9 months from injury date)
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
