Uh, D.J. Durkin was coaching at Maryland in 2016. Don Brown was their DC during the 2OT game.
Dirk in was there for only one year, and they blamed the 2015 drubbing on him - at best saying he was distracted while trying to land an HC job, and at worst saying he deliberately threw the game to screw Jimmy. It’s always something nefarious with them, but Durkin is not at all liked by their fanbase.
Just quoting what he said. I frankly don’t give a shit about who their DC was in 2016.
I survived Cooper, and I hate Tai Streets.
I wasn’t pointing out that you were wrong; it’s the idiotic Michigan fan who can’t get his story straight.
Appreciate the clarification. BTW, your profile pic of the PSU fan looks just like my older brother with a beard. I remind him of that occasionally to stir the family pot a little.
Double post talking about Michigan is pretty Michigan, too, bro. Kidding. Sort of.
They are in a no win situation here. If they manage to win (stay with me, I know it’s tough) it’ll be because Bama didn’t care and they didn’t try. If Bama wins close, same but “you still can’t win even when we aren’t interested or at full strength”, and a blowout speaks for itself.
My bad if it double-posted. If I were a TTUN fan, I’d blame the servers.
The internet is ruled by Ohio and conspires against TTUN.
Strive at all times to bend, fold, spindle and mutilate.
It’s Wednesday and TTUN still sucks.
Full strength. Half strength. Whatever. They're toast.
If ttun wins its cause bama is short handed, doesn't want to be there and mailed it in. If bama wins it's because Michigan mailed it in because bama isn't at full strength so what's the point. Got it. #logic.
Also, I'd like to see more of their players sit out bowl games and then not get drafted. Lol
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.
I Believe In Ohio State.
Packer lost me in 2014 when he said we didn't belong in the playoffs before the playoffs began, saying how whenever we get into big games we , and I quote, "looked like dogshit everytime" .
so he's one of them southern biased "radio personalities" that spend hours a day persuading people into believing "the narrative" , which we emphatically debunked a few weeks later.
haven't listened to him since.
It. Is. Time.
On his radio show, Clemson Packer went on and on and on about how horrible it was for Bo Schembechler to be ranked so high as 20th in the ESPiN poll. Thought he was going to quit radio.
Why are they so obsessed about a coach that never won a national championship?
Now THIS is the most Michigan thing ever.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
Cause Bo no's
A Michigan fan at work was trying to give me shit about a poor first half against Wisconsin then mentioned how clemson is going to beat Ohio State pretty badly. Amazing how quickly they forget absolute ass beatings
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Wait a Michigan fan gave YOU shit about how OSU looked in the first half against UW?
You might want to remind him that OSU was not down 35-0 like UM was in September to the Badgers.
You won the internet, rocket.
I did, I responded that not only did Ohio State beat Wisconsin once, but they did it twice, spotted them a 2 score lead in the first half the second time, and still got it done while Michigan is on their way to getting beat by Alabama's backup QB.
He got back in line after that.
An 8-0 run by us, two TTUN wins this millennium, and being either 4th or 5th best this year in the B1G...A michigan fan giving an OSU fan shit about anything ought to be the most michigan fan thing ever.
We never had it that bad under Cooper and I still wouldn't have talked shit to a Michigan fan following back to back drubbings. Of course the last time Michigan beat us two years in a row by more than a single score (8 pts) each year was 1947 / 1948, so even my father doesn't remember that. Beyond that, we're one win away from tying the longest streak in the series (1901-1909) at 9 games. No one is alive who remembers that.
Michigan fans still talking shit...boy howdy, I've heard it all now.
let me go on to say "the most Michigan thing you've heard" - at least tonight..
I re watched the championship game, and it dawned on me that Wisconsins linebackers knocked themselves out of the game at a very critical point- and I can't help but think if that didn't happen, we'd lose that game, because let's be honest, it did NOT look good.
It probably would have been a more tightly contested game, but Ohio St’s mistakes dropped significantly in the 2nd half. We took some things they were giving us instead of trying to hit the home run on every play. My opinion, though.
That game was over the second Wisconsin went 3 and out on their first drive of the 2nd half
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Michigan never loses. Close game = refs, blow out = your team cheats, long win streak = your players don’t take real classes.
You were close!
Michigan never loses because:
In a close game = refs gave you the game.
In a blow out = your team cheats.
In a short win streak = your players don’t take real classes.
In a long win streak = Recruiting $ bag men.
*Foot note: Your coaches are morally depraved in all of the above situations.
I accept this more thorough version of the Michigan excuse matrix.
Wolverqueens are the gift that keeps giving. Delicious
“I don’t want to beat Alabama if they’re not at full strength.”
So what happens when you lose to a less than full strength Alabama team?
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
No idea, man. But I betcha we find out come New Year's Day.
Let’s hope so.
Which is worse: a) Michigan winning or b) losing but perpetuating the SEC is the best conference narrative?
Michigan was the only B1G team to disgrace the conference and lose their Bowl game two years ago (when they showed their asses in the Outback Bowl against South Carolina). I was perfectly fine with it at the time lol.
exactly right, and so any result here is a good one
if ttun wins, will fuel their september heisman hopes
It's 2019 and TTUN still sucks!!!
Trust me, Alabama isn't going to crow because they beat the Big 10 East Division Third Place... Champions? You know... Those who stay will be champions. Maybe they misspelled 'Chumpions'?
Then it will be the refs. It’s like they have an excuse flow chart for every situation. Pure ttun
Banks of olentangy
I'm sure it was the scUM faithful who started the conspiracy theory that the 2014 B1G Championship was a predetermined outcome planned between Delaney, Gene, and Barry Alvarez in order to get a B1G team into the CFP (and Alabama was apparently in on it because they didn't want to face TCU or Baylor lol).
Saw a Pure Michigan response a couple days ago. Poster wrote that "unlike Florida, Bama is a team we can get up for."
The Browns are back in contention for being the worst franchise in all of professional sport.
I am right dab in the middle of all these morons, lol,it never ends with these idiots..also totally agree about packer, one of the GOOD OLE BOYS,.
Who gives a fuck what those fucktards say. Fuck the weasels.

Is it wrong that I just read this post in the voice of the one and only Rick Sanchez?
A michigan fan (without basis) accusing someone of getting credit for "a phantom inch" as the reason for his own inadequacy and you're all just gonna let that little comment slide?
I've posted these before but I can't tell you what a laugh I get from pure xichigan on mgoblog:
“I feel like we are cursed. OSU gets a 5 star QB transfer and he looks like Cam Newton. We get a 5 star QB transfer and he looks like Steven Threat. OSU hires Urban Freaking Meyer and he wins a NC. We hire Jim and he looks like he’s one step away from smearing shit on himself and living in a dumpster. DAMN IT!”
“There are a lot of doubters on here. If it wasn't for a few bad play calls, several poorly thrown passes, a fumble, missed tackles, the refs, poor execution, no running game, missed blocks, receivers unable to get separation, a couple of dropped passes, a taunting penalty, etc. we'd be in this game. Go Blue!”
What a giant shit sandwich! We were supposed to win the BIG and compete for the CFP. We finished 3rd in the East, got prison sexed by OSU again, and are going to the Holiday Bowl. Three years ago, Ryan Day was a homeless dude. Now, he is treating Jim like a cheap hooker and headed to the playoff. This sucks so bad.
Damn! So, Michigan spent 7 million dollars to take a cheap hooker to the Citrus Bowl? Their endowment must have gotten bigger in the last few years, but they still don't know how to use it, apparently.
Basically, Michigan Man can’t lose for winning or losing! PURE GENIUS!
I've said this before and I'll say it again. I would not use message board posters or radio call in folks as a barometer for what the UM fan base thinks as a whole. I'm sure every fan base can find examples of idiots of all sorts of different media outlets.
While I have zero understanding of what could make a real fan say that, I do take particular pleasure in knowing that OSU is almost solely responsible for the emotional state of the TTUN fanbase.
I would chalk that up to UM fans just being frustrated. A lot of folks do a lot of stuff that doesn't make any sense or even worse yet violate the principles we value most. We are humans after all.
Strength equipment is expensive & guarantees you nothing. A strong will is free & will give you everything you need.
Go read the Neck Sharpies pieces over at MGO. Per those, Harbaugh pantsed OSU in his X's and O's and the only reason the OSU offense was good was because of talent and paid players-Michigan was decidedly better tactically on both sides of the ball.
In a 56-27 game.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
It's truly is amazing how quickly they turn the corner after an ass whooping and go right back to their "September Heisman, August National Champions" mode. Listening to these paint lickers up in Detroit and their podcasts... they are already convincing themselves that Joe Milton is a transcendent talent that will take them to the promise land... just like Shea Patterson...
Honestly, I don't know how they have the mental and emotional fortitude to do this every season, it has to be exhausting.
Well they found their blanky pretty fast this year, right around the time Justin Fields hit Garrett Wilson for the long TD, they put up the 'bag men, no academics, online classes' deflector shield and they've hid behind that pretty well.
I wonder what next year's will be?
I laughed at "paint lickers"
Tactically speaking, they're not retreating, just advancing in a different direction
DON BROWNS DEFENSES ADVANCE IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION BETTER THAN ANYONE
BO: Those who stay will be champions.
LITTLE KID: Wow Bo, you stayed a really long time. How many championships did you win?

Whatever you guys wanna say, you gotta admit that during the Teddy Roosevelt era, Michigan was incredible. I remember a picture of a guy wearing pillow-stuffed leather pants running circles through Ann Arbor High School's fine 1887 defense. Shit, the 1904 team beat the Chicago Physicians & Surgeons school 75-0. Total domination.
So, yes they may be a little below normal standards today when they can't win NC's like they did during that stretch. But just ask a school called "Michigan Normal" who tried to tangle with the Gustav Ferbert's mighty 1898 team and were promptly shut out 21-0 - Michigan is "the leaders and the best".
All this talk about Michigan. OSU beat Michigan like an old worn carpet. Wisconsin gave us a game, Penn State made it interesting. We really should talk about teams that are competitive.
I get it, respect the rivalry but I believe the best insult to Michigan is not to have any other conversations about them until the next rivalry week.
Thats good that he does not want to win, still do not think they are likely to win that one. At best, they may score a few on them with Alabama's defense, but they are not going to win the game. Jimmy is not good at winning bowl games anyway.
damn, I say one Michigan- type thing about the championship game, and you guys rek me for it.
That's why I love you.
Thank you, and goodnight .
There was a topic removed that a scU- writer talked about OSU buying players and he slightly referred to the Fab Five as "borrowing " money from a gambler. Hah!! I figured that in today's economy that $600,000 would equal $1.5 MILLION. The writer also referred to Rashad Gary as a perfect example of how scU- can recruit, but failed to mention hiring his high school coach and his mother!!!!
How many tattoos can you buy for $1.5 MILLION???? What horse shit!!
"Everyone better than us buys players. Of course, we could do that better because we have so much money and we're awesome but we don't, because it's against the rules."
Phew, a lot to unpack. The victimhood, the attribution bias, the pompous self aggrandizement, but my favorite is the complete disregard for the well being of student athletes. Sure, we could properly compensate them for their labor but we don't because the rules don't require it. That's...wow.
