dropped passes by chris olave: 0....he should be on the field the majority of snaps, or at the very least starting. the camera shots of him just standing on the sideline drove me up the wall

The shots of him in one-on-one matchups on the outside before another 2 yard run up the middle did the same to me.

not to mention the two other jump balls he almost came down with (one in double coverage, one that is an interception 75% of the time). dude is SPECIAL

I was screaming at the TV to stop running up the middle. Dobbins ran off-tackle late in the game and had a good chunk play, then it was back up the middle.

At the risk of overloading a chart too much, would be interested to see that rushing by game/ypc broken further into 1st/2nd half, when they knew it was coming or we were running out the clock (the to be fair, we still throw a lot in 4 qtr blowouts).

I know when I looked at the stats in the second quarter, JK was averaging 6.1 ypc at one point.

HS

He started off with that 22 yard run, likely the longest of the day, so the average only went down from there.

Go Bucks!

I loved the first series when we basically ran the ball down their throats into the end zone but the second half wasn't as pretty for us in the run game. The fumbles absolutely killed us and I understand why Day ran the ball a lot but I think we could've sprinkled in a few more short passes and been fine. An interception would've been disastrous too but I think we could've made some safe throws that moved the chains. Hindsight is 20/20 though and all that matters now is that we won. Hope Fields recovers completely and doesn't have as many issues holding onto the ball going forward. Go Bucks!

Keep it handsome

Ive definitely gotta add that to my vocabulary.

Still not giving a damn for the whole state of Michigan.

The LB’s were dominant on Saturday and will need to be this week as well and they will be. Hilliard getting in and making an impact makes me smile ear to ear. Anybody that’s been through that much adversity and succeeds are the stories I love to read about.

Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.

May Hilliard do even better the rest of the way!

I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.

Number of field goals attempted: zero.

Good analysis, but in the rearview now. Hope we go with the hot hand Saturday.

Go Bucks! Beat TTUN!

You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!

He is running pissed off. I thought from the convenience of my sofa with my feet up he should have bounced a few outside instead of trying to punish people.

All I can do is nitpick when he is this good right now. Well done, JK. Keep it up.

There were definitely a few times he put his helmet down and tried to run people over instead of making a move.

HS
Dillon G's picture

That too. I mean he went straight into the pile. Why? Rhetorically why.  I know they want a little crease because nobody is on the other side. But sometimes just bounce it outside, when there is a big pile of linemen and linebackers huddled like penguins on Antarctica.

Just like in life.. another reminder to ALWAYS be ready when you are called upon. If Weber isn't hurt to start 2017 Dobbins isn't in position with these stats. But Weber gets hurt and Dobbins had put in the hard work and was ready when called upon. Just like in life far too many do some version of "well, if I would have known they were going to need me I would have been better prepared.". That's a testament to Dobbins and his work ethic. He was already prepared. He put in the work and was just waiting for them to call his number.

Can't wait to see what's in store the rest of the season for Dobbins...

Go Bucks!

IIRC, Zeke was in beast mode his last three games with 200+ yards in each. The Buckeyes need that same kind of intensity from JK the rest of the way. "JK - all day - the rest of the way!"

I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.

HS
AZ Buckeye13's picture

I think Zeke had something like 220, 230, and 246 his last three games of the 2014 season (with 2 of the games coming in early 2015 against Alabama and Oregon).

That's when Zeke became Zeke

Who is Archie GriffEn???

85 yards through the heart of the south!

The Buckeyes are now 1-0 in what could be the most difficult four/five-game stretch in recent memory.

The best thing about being 1-0 is the chance to go 2-0!

HS
novabuckeye's picture

JK would be the third Buckeye to reach 4,000 yards, since Griffin reached 4,000 too (on his way to over 5,000).  But I know what you meant :)

Go Bucks!

HS

Oops, my mistake.  He would be the second.

Please spell Archie’s name correctly in the graphic, Griffin, not “en”

16.5 sacks in 9 games is insane. 16.5 sacks in 10 halves doesn't even make sense!

God bless and go Bucks.

What does Chases production per play on the field look like compared to the best pass rushers of all time?

HS

11w had a PFF stat based on percentages and he was 2% higher than anyone they had ever tracked.

God bless and go Bucks.

Penn State's front-seven has been the strength of the visitor's defense for the entirety of the year. The Nittany Lions have allowed just 2.43 yards per carry this season, the second-best mark in the nation.

The Buckeyes went right at Penn State's strength and, while it is hard to tell who "won" the battle in the trenches (229 rushing yards, two touchdowns, 3.8 yards per carry,

I would say that’s a pretty good day of rushing. The Buckeyes more than 50% more per carry than PSU has allowed all season. You’re not always going to hit your average, but when you can exceed what their defense gives up on average by a larger margin than their slowing you down, you’re winning the yardage battle.
