i've got to be honest.
I don't anticipate fields being "needed" in the 4th quarter Saturday either.
Needed or not, I’d sure as Hell like to see him in the 4th, if only for a bit. No mercy on Generic U
A lion sleeps in every man, dissatisfaction moves him, complacency keeps him asleep.
Chug will see a lot of action!!!
agreed. what i'm looking forward to most is just seeing chase young releasing 2 weeks of pent up frustration out on penn st. -
I expect he is up for whatever we need from him in the 4th, but given the weather forecast we may not be throwing a lot in any quarter of the game.
"Woody would have wanted it that way"
There’s about a 40% chance of precipitation, accumulation looks low, and wind doesn’t look to be particularly an issue. The weather looked much worse for Wisconsin and Fields threw 22 times
“I think every time we step on the field, our goal is to score.”
Realizing he hasn’t been under the gun at all, I think his play to this point reaffirms this point. Ok. There were a few 1/2 type throws v Rutgers, but we really haven’t played down to anyone yet.
Christ. I can’t wait for Saturday!
Tress' least favorite comment, totally dismissing the punter like that....
Why does this Game have to go four quarters?
We are facing the 50th ranked offense and the 84th ranked pass defense on Sat!!!!!!
Don't take any game lightly. Foot on the neck until they give up.
PSU & ttun are decent teams, games at noon. Iowa & Purdue were mediocre teams, both ON THE ROAD, and at night (dark). These final games will not be taken lightly! I would, however, rather see the Gophers in the conference Championship vs. a rematch with the Badgers. If Wisconsin beats them in Minneapolis, which Nits couldn’t do, then they may remember the 59-0 lashing, and be fired up. I don’t’ trust playing any team a second time in a season. Case in point-Bucks losing to UCLA in the 1976 Rose Bowl, 23-10, after beating them, AT THEIR PLACE, during the regular season, 41-20. That kept us from winning the National Championship. Go Bucks, beat “not-so” fighting Franklins! O-H

Which, ironically, is the Rose Bowl.

In 1982, the UCLA Bruins made their debut at the Rose Bowl. Since then, it has remained the Bruins home and the site of many other events. In 1975 the Bucks beat them at the Los Angeles Coliseum, their former home.
I never knew that. I was born inbthe early 70s, so it's been their home as long as I've known.

I agree with the second part, but I really think the only reason any of us take this game lightly is because of how the team hasn't take n anything lightly, or even shown any cracks to this point.
I'd love a break from last-minute heroics in a Penn State game. Another 24+ point win would be nice, too.
We’ve disagreed often, 7, so I am holding you to this! I’ll be in a sports bar in Philly for the game, and I would like to puff my chest out in my Rex Kern jersey to anyone who Is wearing Blue and White!
"I think Alabama would beat Ohio State if they played next weekend!" Clay Travis Fox Sports Post Championship Show 1.12.2015. Needs no explanation.
PSU secondary may play up and potentially past their previous capabilities for the first few quarters, but I think as the game goes on, as the Penn State defense gets left out to dry, that's when Fields & Co will begin to avalanche.
I love a quick start as much as the next guy, but I just don't think it's as likely this week. I think the Buckeyes pull away early third/mid third depending on who gets the ball to start the final 30.

Fields, and his fellow Buckeyes are so good, they don't need any extra incentive to play better in the 4th. Sure the QB's had great comeback wins the last couple years against PSU, but I like Fields' version better. Play the first 2 quarters as if it were the 4th. Game over before the opponenet even knew what hit them. PSU will feel like a train hit them by the middle of the 2nd quarter.
"When you're part of a team, you stand up for your teammates. Your loyalty is to them. You protect them through good and bad, because they'd do the same for you." Yogi Berra
He’ll have to be sharp because this game will be closer than some expect. Penn State always plays the Buckeyes tough
Except when they don't.
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0
You don't have to convince me. I believe your right. They're still not out of the big picture and I expect them to play that way. Not that I don't believe in us
Indiana always played us tough.
Until they didn't.
The past does not equal the future.
"It's always scotch-thirty on my island."
Right we always played Iowa and Purdue tough as well....until we didn't
The average score when PSU comes to Columbus over the past 15 years is 31-16 OSU, and that includes a 20-14 L in the worst OSU season in several decades in 2011, as well as 4 other games with Tress as HC.
Under Urban, the results of the PSU games played in Columbus were 63-14, 38-10, and 39-38.
So they've played us close at home one time since Meyer took over, for an average score of 47-21
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
It will not be. People have been saying the same thing about every single game this season and they were only right about FAU and Rutgers because we didn't win by 60.
Looking forward to seeing the stat that he's thrown 36 TD's to 1 INT around 3:30pm EST this Saturday afternoon.
We took a decent Wisconsin team and handled them. We beat them by a lot. We're considerably better than Penn State as well. No 4th quarter comeback needed because we will be comfortably in the lead. Buckeyes big. 52 - 21.
This. I'm not quite so confident in an outright blowout, but I'd take Wisconsin at a neutral site over Penn State. The Lions haven't beaten a team with a winning record by more than 7 points. Wiscy absolutely shellacked TTUN to the tune of 35-0 before they packed it in for the day. Bucks should keep that 24+ point streak alive and pull away in the second half.
I think they score 14 at most. But otherwise, I'm right there with you.
I think he is capable. I do not think, or hope, that heroics are needed like the last few years. I hope they are balanced and play good defense and special teams in addition to offense.
I think Dobbins knew what he was talking about. Why does have to be a 4 quarter game? Right JK it doesn’t despite the media wanting say that to be safe. Be to be honest the better chance is it will be over at the start of the fourth. We have not seen this team and coaches really get fired up. Penn state is good but there is another level to this team.
I agree. No reason not to put PSU away early and stand on their neck until the final whistle. The talent is there - it's all up to day and the staff to have them ready to rock and execute a solid game plan. If everyone does their jobs (including the fans in the stands) this game shouldn't even be close.
Fields's has been shining all season and i think this game will be similar to the Wisky game...except OSU will score more points ...
If J. Fields is sharp, then this game won't be close for long. If he holds onto the ball too long, and is erratic then it could be close for awhile. Chase Young and the running game might go insane so it probably won't matter.
JK Dobbins and the slobs are still on the team.
Penn St will be reminded on Saturday.
RELEASE THE RUSHMEN
Victory loves preparation
on saturday, it'll have been 3 weeks since chase young has hit anyone in a game - may god have mercy on penn st.
I commented last week that I had a crazy dream in which had fell asleep and missed the beginning of the OSU game. I quickly grabbed the remote and changed the it to the game only to see the little score box at the bottom right of the screen read PSU 21 OSU 0. The Bucks had the ball in the red zone but I was in disbelief that they were getting blanked so far. I literally woke up in a sweat. I hope this is a good omen somehow and it means that we're going to kick the shit out of the nittany pussies.
I don't usually pay attention but I think it's hilarious you're getting DVs for a bad dream.
Penn state will be down 4 td's in the 4th.
A gentle reminder to BE NICE. Plays guitar and makes iced tea in the winter.
While I have no doubt about Field’s athletic prowess, I fully expect Dobbins and Teague to do most of the damage. It’s not a good sign if the QB has to pull the game out.
Yeah, Penn State is giving up something like 2 YPC on the ground and I think the slobs and JK will have something to prove.
Fields will not have much trouble anyways due to Penn State's weak secondary.
The front 7 for the PSU D is as good as we’ve seen. They can run and attack the LOS, so did the badgers for that matter though. JK and the slobs roll for 200+. That includes the 60+ I feel like Fields will add.
"I love football. I think it is most wonderful game in world and I despise to lose."

Why drive when the airfare is so cheap? That’s a lot of passing yards given to much less talented QBs and receivers. Look for us to burn them in the air first then grind them on the ground when they try to compensate.
Our people are everywhere, Esto Dignus.
The coaches job is to make sure a team can win a game on the last possession but the teams job is to make sure that's not necessary. I think the team will see to it that it won't be vs anyone but clemmy.thats the only one where we finally get tested in my opinion
I'm honestly not that worried about our ground game. Penn State's front 7 is athletic and aggressive as hell, and Day is going to use that against them with motions, counters, read options, and play action to have them 2nd guessing every thing they see all day.
Dobbins/Teague/Fields are going to combine for 250+ on the ground. Let's say 130 for JK, 75 for Teague, and 60 for Fields.
Penn State’s rush D is overrated. They have gaudy stats because most of their opponents didn’t have a good OL and their starters typically played all game. Buffalo and Michigan ran reasonably well against them.

Yes, PSU, “Welcome to the Machine...”
Fields is very good and enjoy watching him play but he needs to work on getting the ball off quicker to receivers down field he tends to under throw his receivers and we will definitely need him to fix that for that playoffs because teams like Clemson have super fast CBS
Bring your RAIN gear to the game because it is going to be raining most of the game. Weather may be a deciding factor on who wins and can take care of the ball better....

Fields has already shined.
