I'll see your PSU-TTUN back-to-back, and raise you a Wisconsin rematch on December 7.

Well I think OSU’s schedule is nearly as daunting as the Wofford-NC State-Weak Florist- Bye- South Carolina death trap that Clemson has faced and will face to end the season sarc on \ off

Which garnered Clemson the #1 ranking in ESPN's new power rankings. When it came to #2 OSU they said "can't get a read on the Buckeyes when they are playing teams like Maryland and Rutgers". I know there are a lot of ESPN threads going on right now, but sorry this seemed to directly apply. Clemson's entire schedule is full of Maryland's and Rutgers's. SMH
I think Michigan will be a much, much tougher game than Penn St. I can see a 2017 type game unfolding.
They should not be taken lightly, but I also see a team that is pure TTUN - they get smoked by near-peer competition, and mop the floor with inferior opponents.
We know which category the Bucks are in.
They’re already doing things to mix it up defensively with cover 2, e, and 4. We straight up attacked their man to man Cover 1 last year. This year, I think it will take us a little longer to figure it out, but Day will.
I think Day will show up prepared.
He always does. No doubt, though, they will save a lot of looks for us they they’re not showing on film. Helps that we have two of their former defensive guys on staff, though.
Helps that we have two of their former defensive guys on staff, though.
Very good point. I wonder what insight they have into the mind of Don Brown. He seems like he is resistant to change and will stubbornly try to win HIS way, and get schooled in the process. Again.
They’re already working into different cover packages and shutting that crossing route down. Urban ran a nice segment on it last Saturday. Good thing we are more than crossing routes.
I was at a soccer tournament, so I missed Big Noon Kickoff, but I bet that was a good segment. Urban doing advanced scouting for Day on national television.
I hope that our WRs can still blow by their corners and safeties. The crossing routes sliced them up last year, but I have a feeling we will be able to slice them up a different way this year. I hate how nervous The Game makes me every year...
Number 1 rule in life: always beat That Team Up North.
I'm most concerned about Fields running.
They are doing there version of Rushman package. Hmmmmmmmm
Meanwhile, Chase Young is lining up at linebacker.
We out-athlete them. The staff knows that ttun cant match our speed and they'll take full advantage

I don't think Ohio State and Michigan are near-peers.
Oh, I agree Ohio State is on another level, but the term would be encompassing of the Bucks (as it's used in military terms, which is the origin of the category).
For all the analytics and “eye test”, we are going to learn a lot about this team in next few weeks. Im here for the ride and believe it’s going to end well, in January.
Man….. this football team.-Jeff Okudah
I'll take PSU and UM back-to-back over Maryland and Rutgers every time. I'm ready for some football!
Are we embarking on an "Anti-revenge tour" ?
The Buckeyes are head and shoulders above every other team in the Big 10. I definitely think you will crush PSU, and believe the same with Michigan, although it will be a closer game than PSU. The only way Michigan beats OSU is through rotten luck (for you.) Every fumble bounces the wrong way, somehow some of your players have multiple brain farts, you have a key injury, Patterson plays out of his mind, etc., etc., etc. And that's extremely unlikely to happen. Too many things have to happen just in the right way for the Wolverines to beat the Buckeyes.
Appreciate your optimism and honesty but I am very cautious. Although this team comes out prepared and adjusts quickly compared to past teams with equivalent talent. Something this year feels different in terms of team preparation and focus which gives me hope. I am still cautiously optimistic because anything can happen at any time in sports.
I'll just say I lived through the Cooper years and am still suffering from PCSD. No matter how big a gimme you think you're looking at, The Game has a way of taking on a life of its own.
"It's always scotch-thirty on my island."
After last year's beatdown, I have noticed that the roles have somewhat flipped this year. I seriously hope that we don't end up on the wrong end of a score like last year's Game. Wouldn't be able to stomach a loss to those hack frauds up north. Coach Day should have our boys ready. There is no greater feeling than knowing that we have beaten them again and can shove it in their face for another year.
Need a tissue after all that slobbering?
To achieve a Natty, we gotta beat 5 straight ranked teams.
Throw out the numbers, just play with passion and win the game!
In theory not just 5 straight ranked teams, but potentially 5 straight top 10 teams. And not top 10 teams like Texas (looking at you LSU).
I thought the 2014/Cardale 3 game run couldn't be topped, but this has the potential.
No reason to not remain optimistic with this difficult 3 game stretch. For one thing the starters have come off playing barely a half of football the last 2 games, and I really do believe OSU can come out and blow the doors off PSU Saturday and put it on cruise control at some point in the 2nd half, building up to The Game. Which for me all bets are off, because of the rivalry and I will acknowledge they are playing better but unless something uncharacteristic happens, tough to see OSU losing that one either.
It is funny how this season has played out with about every other game being the "our toughest game of the year" coming up, and it ends up being not so much. Eventually we will be challenged, it is a matter of when not if.
Not an easy way to end the regular season, but I'm confident, not cocky, that this Buckeye team can be 12-0 and heading to Indianapolis.
PSU has lost once...not sure where the losing twice came from, barely but still won one of the last two.
That stumped me also for a minute until I realized he meant the last two games against OSU.
Beat PSU and TSUN Back to Back
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
Ohio State can lose either or both of these games. However, neither Penn State nor Michigan can beat them.
Can't win em both without winning the first one. Beat Penn State!!!
We are gonna win both games by multiple scores. So it is written.
I certainly hope so...
An extremely tough way to end the season but no doubt Day and the staff have been and are aware of the significance of these games. I think we will be tested(for real this time) but I feel better going into this stretch than I would have if we had blown or almost blown a game against an inferior opponent. We certainly have the talent to win. Now it's just about execution. Must play clean, avoid penalites, tackle well etc... but if we do all of the fundamental things right then I see us winning both. If we get sloppy, play undisciplined or lose the turnover battle then we could easily lose one or both of these games. Will be interesting to see how our team responds to the challenge. I'm also curious to see if we finally unleash Fields in terms of designed runs. He has shined some in moments but we certainly haven't depended on him that much in the run game. I'm sure some wrinkles will be in the game plan and I can't wait to see Day's brilliance in action. Go Bucks!
I have watched PSU play 4 times this season. Their near loss to Pitt. Their near loss to scUM. Their loss to Minny. Their near loss to IU. 4 games out of 10 that could have easily been losses, but yet parlayed into a 9-1 record. That record is deceiving. Ohio State is going to gash PSU on Saturday. You want a statement game? Here it comes. Right. Down. Your. Throat.
As for scUM...
Changing their offense purportedly has them "playing better." They still struggle to run. Patterson is still the same QB as he was last year. The game is in AA. Whatever. Good luck with that.
My scUM loving friend told me the other day..."it's not what we've seen from Ohio State this year that worries me...it's what we haven't seen because their starters rarely play a full game...so what's that look like?" Yup yup....
Still insane scheduling by the B1G...would never be done to the conference bellcow by another conference. Really dumb. PSU should have been our game coming out of the 2nd bye week with Maryland and Rutgers in between. Then it could have been a night game as well. That said...I feel pretty good about this team taking care of business. I think they are probably chomping at the bit to play a meaningful game.
One game at a time. PSU first.
