Day said after the game that Arnette, who had not missed any previous games while playing with a cast on his wrist and was not listed on Friday’s status report, is “good” from a health standpoint.
So if he was good from a health standpoint should we be expecting some other reason Annette was held out?
Yes, because we played Rutgers. I guarantee you if we played anybody else, Arnette would have played.
I don't give a damn for the whole state of Xichigan.
This was a "why take a chance" game.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
With respect to the Shaun Wade segment, while the defensive line, in particular Chase Young, has been getting a lot of deserved attention within a much improved Buckeye defense, the Buckeye secondary is ranked #1 in the nation, both in terms of fewest passing yards yielded per game and pass defense rating. And they have roughly twice as many interceptions as TD passes given up.
Credit to both coaches and players, while recognizing that are still challenges ahead.

After last season, those are words I would never have expected to read. Hafley is a rock star. Our entire coaching staff is actually!

Penalties were a lot better yesterday. I can only remember Berry’s call for a face mask and those two ridiculous kickoff alignment penalties. I may be missing some but overall it was very impressive from a lack of penalties standpoint.
Add on: I’m now remembering the penalty on Harry Miller. But still....
Dawand Jones, too but your point holds.
Thought Stover had his hand in the dirt on a few plays, he was plenty active enough out there.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020

Stopped reading at the Jaelen Gill part. Good on him for getting a highlight reel. I know its Rutgers, I know its the second half, but have been totally perplexed that he has not bust out more this year. KJ Hill is awesome...so there is that. But Gill has a 4.43 forty, has put on 10-15 lbs, and actually was a monster running back at Westerville South. Lesmeris and company said pump the brakes on the hype, because, they said for all of the above reasons I mentioned. But I think its part of Day's master plan, to wait right before Penn State and the assholes up north games, and have them worrying not just about KJ but also Gill. We have not seen the last of him this year in primetime. Go Bucks! Time to believe the hype
Listening between the lines to Ryan Day; it sounds like what may be holding Jaelen Gill back, is Jaelen. If you don't practice hard and "take care of your business" you are not going to see significant playing time. The Alan Iverson mentality about practice doesn't fly in the Ohio State football program, seems to me that's what Coach Day is saying about the young man. Go Bucks!
The only hard day was yesterday
Good to see Jonah Jackson reconnect with his Rutgers brothers. Now onto an incredibly tough stretch. PSU goes down next weekend.
“I basically grew up here for four years of my basically adult life, and to be able to see the guys I grew up with and the coaches and the staff and everything, it was a great experience,” Jackson said.
Well, I guess that says it all.. basically ;)
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing
Very glad to Jackson reconnect with his former guys. Glad Mr. Gill received playing time and made the most of his opportunity. Work even harder this week to stay on the field. After this weeks punt fumble I thought that's an ugly sin at OSU. Mr. Gill should get a shot on punts or kick offs. We will see if that happens.
I was impressed with Pope and Mitchell, both played fast and effective. Linebacker future looking very nice!
All in go Buck's!
This probably isn't going to be a popular comment but I did not like Shaun Wade's actions after his turnovers…..$$$...….who does that remind you of??
I saw that and thought he was referring to sticky hands not money hands.
"Most Noahs have two of everything, he's got four tonight" - Gus Johnson on Noah Brown's 4 TD catches against Oklahoma.
I sure hope so 96 but Wade knows what that means in the eyes of the public.....not a good look and if I were his coach it wouldn't happen again...……...well, if it did happen again it would only be once.
Was Wade credited with the forced fumble? I thought Wade made a great play but Okudah got his helmet on the ball which caused the fumble.
Ohio State has the best kids in the US. Athletic, Well coached, elite and hungry. Go Get Em Buckeyes!
