10 Reason to Hate Rutgers

Didn't Tony Soprano go to Rutgers for a semester? That's pretty badass, imo

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster...

I can’t do it.  I can’t hate Rutgers.  There’s nothing there.  It’s like hating my toe.  Or a wall.  I have no emotions.

And I like the little cannon bit.

Like hating a crippled puppy.  I'm sure Schiano (sp?) will return them to bowl level mediocrity and we'll have to adjust to only beating them by 4-6 TDs in the next few years.  heheh.

Nice work on coming up with 10 reasons lol. An easier article would have been "10 Reasons to Pity Rutgers".

Maybe just for Rutgers someone can write an article listing 10 reasons to pity them. Cause seriously...

Is it strange that I can't muster any hate for Rutgers? Seriously people I have no ounce of hate for this team, i need to rewatch the Rutgers hype video, just the thought of them makes me docile like a baby!

But that won’t stop this team from their goal.  Sorry Rutgers, it’s just business.

Don't feel bad for Ash.  He is getting 8 million to do nothing.

HS
RBurgundy4's picture

Ash made a terrible career decision and deserves no sympathy at all. If he legitimately thought that he could turn RU around in 3 years grossly underestimated his starting position. Or, worse yet, he may have grossly overestimated his own ability. Either way ends in a quick firing.

And we found the logical career counselor in this thread.  I still haven't figured out the financial motives for college coaches to move to TV for a year or two while waiting for the right job... maybe it helps in recruiting wherever they do get hired?

So the question that may be answered by Texas making Ash its DC: was the real genius of the 2014 tOSU defense Johnson, Ash, Luke, or Fickell?

HS
Dillon G's picture

The pass defense in 2013 and 2012 and the overall scheme wasn't so special. Koombs helped a lot with the problem.

#walkaway

HS
CowCat's picture

To answer the OP’s original question: I think the biggest addition was Ash.

Johnson is of course the best DL coach in CFB, but Vrabel wasn’t bad before him. Fickell was his usual top-notch self with the LBs. Coombs was a great technique teacher with the CBS. But the one person that brought it all together was Ash. He instituted the pattern-matching cover 4 system that turned everything around.

I think it would be harder to figure things out this year. Both Mattison and Hafley have had a huge impact. Washington has his LBs playing at an elite level.

I remember a reason to hate rutgers! The 2015 season they were 4th and long at midfield down a touchdown to MSU, and the QB spiked the ball not realizing it was 4th down. A hail Mary could have tied the game or won it if they went for 2. That could have given us the East, another b1g championship, and possibly another Natty instead of "BamaClem" the first of his name

HS

You know what else would have gotten us into the playoffs in 2015? Running Elliot in the second half against Michigan State.

^^^^^^^^^ DON'T HATE. Unless it's Mucking Fichigan. I can't stand them delusional ass, cry baby biatch fan's. I can't hate Rutgers. They remind me of the one kid on my Freshman HS basketball team that wasn't good enough to play in any games, but the last 3 minutes of 30 point blowouts, but loved to play the game so much he would never miss a practice, be there early and stay late shooting around.

Lets be clear about NJ. You may want to make fun of it, however I CHOSE to live hear because:

1) Highest per capita income by State except Maryland

2) #2 in public education system (only behind Conn)

3) Proximity to NYC and Philly and Beaches.

Plain and simple. Those of you that dont live here, do not live here only because you could not afford it.

agreed - My county is 3rd highest income per population in the US. I go to the restaurants, plays and museums in both Philly and the city (NYC). There are plenty of stadiums to watch pro sports and for me, the ones in Philly are all in one area and easy to drive to. BTW the stats show there are more horses in Jersey than in Kentucky.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    I won't give a reason why others don't live here, but I came for a job. There are plenty of places in jersey that are filthy, over populated and dangerous, but there are wonderful areas to live. I didn't see your post before I also posted defending Jersey. I still love Ohio too and while I like the Bearcats, I love the Bucks. BTW, High school football here is very good. Look at the rosters of major colleges and NFL teams. Woody recruited this area only second to Ohio. It still sends players to the Bucks. Maybe I will see you at the game.

Thanks my friend.  Thought about going, but have a housefull instead. It was the 3:30pm kickoff (instead of noon) that we decided to not be waiting for buses back to cars at 8pm tonight in 30 degree darkness.  Enjoy!

They had the bus thing very much in order. As soon as one filled up, the next was in long. It was along walk to the bus, but a short to the cars from the bus. I have to admit I rode the handicapped bus going with a short walk, but didn't see it on the wayback. I feel the effects of the long walk this morning. I bought out tickets from stub hub and they were on the 50. The "old" money alumni were pissed. I  said if your fair weather fans   friends hadn't deserted your team, I wouldn't had the chance to buy them.   I then said I don't understand fair weather cause the Bucks always bring us good weather -- 0-18 baby and now 0-19. What did you think when you joined the big. Silence.

Folks, I live in Hunterdon County NJ. It is farm orchards and horse farms. We have plenty of preserved land and big colonial homes. There is little crime as the last murder in my township was over a decade ago and it was a NBA player who killed his chauffeur. The township High School is a blue ribbon school and many reports have the county 3rd highest per population in income. There are plenty of lakes and ponds for fishing. The town closest to me has a river going through it and a waterfall made by a mill. This isn't bragging, but I shared this so many can see that Hunterdon County isn't Newark (although wonderful restaurants), Camden, the Oranges or Irvington. I find living here peaceful with very little population. I will be at the game today rooting on the Bucks as my heart is with them too and my old Ohio home.   https://www.google.com/search?q=hunterdon+county&sxsrf=ACYBGNS59Jll0PA5G...

I will give you a good reason to like New Jersey. A former President of Princeton and a former governor of NJ had an Ohioan named after him. His name was Woodrow Wilson. A former football coach was named in his honor. That beats the ten reasons given in this article. Go Bucks

Collards

HS
stxbuck's picture

Woodrow Wilson was a racist, big government loving piece of shit. Fortunately Wayne Woodrow Hayes was 180 degrees from Wilson on racial and ideological matters.

HS
collards's picture

Well a family in the past had a different view and named their son after him. The Guthries also named their son Woody after him. It was different times. We look through the lenses of our liberal education today. I didn't like Wilson's politics, TR split the Republican ticker in 1912.
