Busy few days here for the Wrestlebucks. Why wasn't Karchla in the lineup?
The plan is to redshirt Kharchla this season. Subject to change, of course, but that’s the plan.
I cannot think of anyone writing these match-by-match summary articles any better. I can't see these things happen in person--thanks.
Hockey Men & Women's
Thanks Andy - good to see them get this early season test.
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Seattle Sounders 2019 MLS Champions
Virginia Tech should be fun!
Bonus points and a couple of toss-up matches could determine the winner.
Go Bucks & Thanks Andy
Echemendia arriving in mid-December and is currently in Colorado Springs. Obviously, the line-up won't be set until January. 165 is definitely still up in the air from what I'm hearing. Chase's match was most impressive today. He is definitely motivated to honor his little bro's memory. Quinn Kinner will be on the platform in March. The future is bright. Andy, like your articles on Flo.
Thanks JB - working with Flo the past couple of weeks has been a nice extension of my work here. Trying to keep Buckeye fans in the know - although you’re pretty well in the know without me ;)
You're most welcome. We appreciate you and 11W!
So is Echemendia immediately eligible?
"He has that look in his eye when it's time to start feeding the beast" UFM on EZE
Yes he is.
I'm not the smartest person when it comes to understanding the true sport of wrestling so I definitely appreciate the work put in by Andy and the 11w community. This site is amazing for following all things Buckeye. Appreciate the work you all put in.
I thought Rocky was to wrestle. What happened>
Maybe tomorrow, when today will be yesterday things will be clearer.
GO BUCKS !!
This happened at MSU:
Romero beat Shannon ILL 4-2 Finals
Shannon beat Mantanona OK 7-2 Semis
Mantanona beat Jordan 17-7 quarters
Romero beat Covaciu IND 3-1 Semis
Covaciu beat Jordan 6-2 Consos
I think this explains why Romero and not Rocky wrestled vs Pitt. Rocky is listed today, so the spot may still be open, but Romero definitely outperformed Rocky at the MSU Open.
write up about Synder and has experience so far in State College
Sounds like training partners played a major roll in his moving to State Penn. The opportunity to wrestle against Cael? wow...I didn't realize he still got down in the weeds so to speak.
Wonder if Snyder's decision was the reason Kervliet left?
Yes..where is Hayes?
I get red-shirting Karchla..he could be a 4 timer AA...multi champion
there was an article that suggested Sasso may bump up to 157 to make room for Echemendia..I hope not..Sasso looks like a finalist at 149.
Is Hayes hurt?
I asked the same question, here is the response I received from Andy from another thread yesterday in the preview article
He was a little dinged up after the Michigan State Open. He wasn't super comfortable at '57 last year - he really wanted to wrestle at 149, of course, but there's no question that's Sasso's spot.
He's already graduated, and is working on a master's in finance, so doing the math: between his injuries, getting shuffled around multiple times over his career between injuries and McKenna/Sasso taking spots he'd have liked to have, and now Echemendia likely coming in and moving to 157... I think we may have seen the last of Ke-Shawn Hayes in the lineup.
Which is a damn shame - he's a really likable guy, has been a part of the program for a long time, and it just feels like there was so much potential there... and it's all slipped away. That season-ending injury his redshirt freshman season completely altered his trajectory
Thanks for the coverage Andy - I really enjoy following the boys through your eyes
"I don't apologize for anything. When I make a mistake, I take the blame and go on from there." - Woody Hayes
Top shelf write up Andy, appreciate all the work you put into it. I think Sasso and Romero are gonna do good things.
