This matchup will be far more interesting next year when Greg Schiano is coaching them. At least we know we'll be able to beat the hell out of his defense then too lol.

This is going to be a rough week for the Scarlet Knights, but a good chance for Ohio State to get a ton of depth on the field. I don't believe we'll see much of our starters come the 3rd quarter, which is excellent, the more rest for PSU the better.
Also... if rumors are to be believed, we should see Chase Young by the time Penn State comes to town. That will not be a good day for the Lions.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.

SHI had a regional sales office next to my office for a couple of years. The sign on the door read: SHI Technology
I had no idea who they were at the time, but I thought it was an odd choice for a company name. I suppose they have dropped the "Technology" in the name.
If you think that's bad, there is an engineering firm that my company has had dealings with for a while titled...

I was hoping somebody would get that reference :D
We must come out of this game injury-free. And rest all the guys who aren't 100% now. I want to see us put epic beat downs on both PSU and TTUN.
Fields of Dreams
I truly believe deep down that this Buckeye team could beat Rutgers with me at quarterback.
And that says much more about Rutgers than it does about me.
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT RUTGERS

Five things "TO KNOW".
What is there to know? :)
Hapless Rutgers. . . I wonder what Ash will be doing next season. I have no idea why Schiano would want to coach there again. It seems like a really tough job.
Let’s hope we stay healthy and look sharp.
I season my simple food with hunger
He probably has 5 or 6 million good reasons to be their HC.. with zero, zip, nada expectations! Can’t wait to see whom he hires onto his staff.

GO BUCKS!!! *ichigan sucks!!!
I am planning to attend. Here is an early shout-out and request of Ramzy, in his weekly column, to suggest some pre or post game watering holes and eateries!
I honestly feel a little bad for Rutgers. They are just like the lamb to the slaughter whenever they play most other Big Ten teams. This one is not going to be pretty.
Get up big early, play the youth, no injuries. Screw the spread...who cares at this point if we don't cover a historic spread?
Gosh, I was sort of hoping to read about the cannon. It is a really cool piece of hardware.
I never bet on sports, but I'm really trying to figure out how we could fail to beat them by more than 50. Even if we take the starters out at halftime again, it's going to be 77-7 or something like that.
Rutgers........thank you Jim Delaney
The pain of discipline or the pain of regret, take your pick
Agree. Gotta wonder what Rutgers alums are thinking too. They really belong in the American conference or whatever it is called. Or, all kidding aside, play FCS level football. It's getting a bit out of control.
Surprised and disappointed on this response from you. RU gave B10 the NYC media mkt and also RU plays 27 other D1 sports. Its the PSU fans that are Aholes, not RU fans.
I'll take the bait....and try harder, 7. Who said anything about the fans? I did find the first thing we've agreed on, however: Yes, I have encountered some PSU fans that are a-holes.
As for the media market, etc., etc. is it really worth it? I live on the east coast and I can promise you this is an NFL market not a cf market to say the very least. The Big Ten B-ball tourney's location in New York City's MSG went over with most B1G fans like a fart in church. You can think what you wish, but I consider the addition of Maryland and Rutgers to be questionable additions to the Big Ten, the Terps' strength in basketball notwithstanding. If you're happy that Rutgers "adds to the Big Ten" for Field Hockey, Softball, swimming, Track & Field, then have it.
This is the same forum that 2-3 years ago wanted to kick Purdue out because they weren't competitive in football any longer -- forgetting Purdue's longstanding heritage in the same conference. Ooops. Do you see Rutgers adding heritage to the Big Ten?
Now, if you'll excuse me.....Mrs. McSorley is all over my ass to get the leaves raked before dark. :-)
Such juvenile points.
You know Rutgers is a lot harder to get into than PSU.
The media market is absolutely worth it. It gives Big Ten access to NY cable providers. Its why Big Ten revenue out-paces the SEC’s.
And you know THIS....man!
Thank you. Of course. Also I didnt that (adding RU) probably gave us more NJ/NY recruits as a result of RU being in B10. Kids love that their families dont have to travel to see them in games.
I just checked StubHub for tickets. Lower level 50 yard line tickets on Ohio State's sideline are priced way higher than 50 yard line tickets on Rutgets sideline. Minimum of a $30 difference.
THEIR BEST PLAYER: THEIR PUNTER
lol, my day is now complete
Jim Tressel approves!
Trust me! I'm an Engineer.
Giants, Jets, Redskins, Yankees, Nets, Knicks, Broadway, Etc. etc. Like to see factual data on percentage of gain by Big Ten in the eastern entertainment industry. Maryland and Rutgers .....what an embarassment for ANY conference. Talking football here.
Big Ten pulled in 13 million more than the SEC and thats with the SEC having more championship success, more players in the NFL Draft, “it just means more” blah blah.
Bigmarty, once you understand the math, you will realize your feelings are not factual. MD and RU gave B10 Wash DC and NYC media markets and nicely expanded the geo footprint east and south. Plus MD and RU are exceptional academic institutions.
Based on your argument, should Cal,Ark, Ga Tech and Vanderbilt be kicked out of their conferences?
And yet , they are in the BIG10 , the worst addition of any conference since all this reshuffling started happening.
OSU by at least 60
DH: ...36.7 points, LESS than only 5 FBS teams
as in, only 5 other teams have allowed more.
Wow, The B1G has to be second guessing the whole Rutgers/Maryland move. lowers everyone's SOS.
You're correct that I screwed up that sentence, it's been corrected now.
Dan was kind to not have the first point read "THEY SUCK ASS"
Please everyone one BOTH SIDEs of this match up get out of the game injury free and let both teams continue with their seasons, also knowing that our starting guard comes from their team - I can only hope for his new teammates to treat his old teammates with dignity! Destroy Them!
I would rather be on hand with 10 men then elsewhere with 10,000 - Timur Lenk
Jonah Jackson has been a stud for the Buckeyes this year and we owe Rutgers a thanks for that.
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
My relatives who have attended Rutgers games say the parking/getting to the stadium situation is bad... exceeded only by the stadium experience itself. Consequently I’ll be in front of the tube! Go Bucks!
My family has gone to the game twice. We stay in a hotel that is 8 minutes away from parking at the RAC. A shuttle bus picks us up and drops us off a their practice bubble, which is a few minute walk from the stadium. Always plenty of buses to get to the stadium, and since the games have been blow outs, not much wait for a bus back to the RAC. It has treated us well so far. . .
They could only score 3 points, total, against Ohio State’s underperforming defenses these last two years. Yikes. Maybe the betting should not be how many points they will score (I’m going to predict 0) but how much yardage they will gain (maybe also 0).
Seriously....how do you squeeze walk-ons onto a travel roster?? Maybe we just play 9 guys in the second half!
Year for what?
Running clock would be the best idea. With travel rosters too, Day and staff have got to be careful on even what backups are getting the most reps. Injuries are the biggest concern, but if you play not to get hurt, that usually leaves you vulnerable to a injury.
Fields, Dobbins, and the 1st team OL shouldn't get more than 3 or 4 series in all honesty if they/when they put up points on them all. That should be it. Get them out and start studying PSU film on the sidelines.
Same with the D. Get your 1st string DL, LBs, and DBs all out EARLY.

Their Best Player: Their Punter
I will forever bow at his altar.
You guys are really hard on Rutgers. I get it.
But keep in mind Rutgers plays 27 D1 sports and RU gave the B10 the NYC media mkt.
I can honestly say living in NJ, RU fans arent Aholes at all and wish they could be proud of their football team. Just know that.
I'll take Rutgers and the points. But, I bet long shots at the race track too. BTW, what is the betting line points spread?

Saw 50.5 I think.
1. They Stink
2. They Stink
3. They Stink
4. They Stink
5. Did I mention they stink?
If style points didn't matter then we'd be better off starting Chugs instead of Fields but anyway. Chugs will look like an All American on Saturday regardless but so could any other QB. My biggest worry about Rutgers is NO NO NO injuries
BigBuckeye says Go Bucks
Record the last five years:
That should just about say it all.
This is it. Don't get scared now.
Shoot the cannon! Can’t wait for that cheer to start up again.
"Good times and riches and son of a bitches I've seen more than I can recall." Jimmy Buffett
I can’t imagine they draw many fans. Should be more Buckeye fans than Rutgers fans in that stadium.
