I heard that a kid from chase young’s hs de committed as well
Yes. During the game.
Whoa? Really? Who?
A DT. He was their first commit in the class.
Jordan White, an Olineman.
I saw that. Couple notes on the Maryland faithful from what I've seen on their blogs. They are absolutely melting down about Locksley on Testudo Times right now (their SBNation blog). Said this is a historically bad Maryland team on par with the horrid teams from the Mark Duffner era. Some of them actually want Durkin back and are calling the school a bunch of pussies for firing him the way they did last year and turning to a former Randy Edsall assistant. In regards to Chase's situation they're not happy about one of their own doing something like that either. They think it basically means that Maryland is now blacklisted from recruiting out of DeMatha HS going forward because of that (DeMatha is a football factory HS in Maryland similar to Massillon for Ohio, not the type of HS program you want to piss off). Jordan White (the offensive lineman who decommitted today during the game) is from DeMatha so this is starting to add up.
Ironically, I JUST had a buddy inducted into their Hall of Fame.
Circling back...solid points here (especially with DeMatha).
There's delusion in any fanbase, but it's stunning to hear some the Maryland faithful calling for Durkin back with a straight face.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Day discussed this in his post game presser. He said they always stay aggressive in the first half, and cited the Northwestern game as another game where they used their timeouts late in the first half to get another possession. It’s his style to stay aggressive in the first half, so it had nothing to do with Maryland and everything to do with how coach Day goes for the kill in the first half.
It was a good story line though, I bought into it....lol
That’s what I’d say..
Good points, RRR. It’s been Day’s style to drop the hammer repeatedly through the last second of the first half and today was more of the same.
BTW, tough loss last night to Aurora. I was pulling for you guys to represent the OVAC in DIII. I’m hoping Indian Creek can win a playoff game for the first time tonight. I’m pretty sure this is the first November game ever played at Kettlewell.
I survived Cooper, and I hate Tai Streets.
Somehow I like this explanation better. Day is just that ruthless.
I’m always willing to give Gus and Joel some leeway because, well, I just like those guys. Still, unless they know something, it’s kind of irresponsible to insinuate it. But, if it ever comes out that the Maryland program was the source of a tip, the beatings will be even worse than today. My sense is that Day’s message was aimed at the committee, not Maryland. For now.
And as the article stated, pray for Rutgers. If the Buckeyes want to, they could probably hit 100 next week, and I’m only mildly exaggerating, if at all.
I don't think either Johnson or Klatt are those type of guys who need the attention to just throw something out there they don't know anything about. They may have heard something when meeting with the players/coaches leading up to the game but couldn't go with it since it was just a rumor. Don't want to burn bridges with Maryland (not that would matter) or the B1G over throwing those accusations out in the broadcast.

Just be thankful the incident came about this week instead of later.
Too much time spent at the North Heidelberg rather than the classroom. SSD 68-72
This is what I choose to believe. Either that or it was Tom Herman
Tom Herman has got zero ties to Chase so I doubt it was him.
I think that was a Zach Smith situation joke.
Ratted is the wrong word.
The violation archaic as is may be is a violation. The hope is that common sense prevails. The issue isn't that someone reported it.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
Ratted is the right word. What do you think it means?
Chase was wrong. He's owned it and will probably be back to eating souls soon. But he was wrong regardless.
He was only "wrong" in the sense that his actions could have (and did) put his team in a spot of trouble.
There is absolutely nothing morally or ethically wrong about accepting a loan in order to pay for your girlfriend to see you play in a Rose Bowl, full stop. Outdated NCAA regulations are the problem here, not Young's actions.
"porque las estirpes condenadas a cien años de soledad no tenían una segunda oportunidad sobre la tierra."
You may not agree with the rules but they are the rules. Chase knew this and was wrong to accept the money even for this reason. Whether it was a ‘loan’ or not isn’t really relevant. I hope Chase is reinstated but to say this is nothing is untrue
I hate this attitude. The law =/= what's right.
You don't "rat people out" who have followed the rules, so that's exactly the right word...
and snitches get stitches... 73 stitches apparently.
Nobody likes a tattletale, let alone a rat. If it isn’t a literal crime, you keep your damn mouth shut.
Seriously. Do you know how many “violations” occur across the country at all schools? There are literally THOUSANDS that go undetected every year.
Hope LSU loses this for not going for it on 4th and 1 from midfield
2x account suspension survivor
Well, don't blame Maryland for that.
Man the paranoia and hysteria on this board. Therapists would have a field day with some of you sheesh. Who knows who made the tip, most likely wasn't maryland, most likely was somebody at Ohio State.
Saw some comments from Chris Worley and Damon Webb calling Keandre Jones a “rat”. And in a video after the game heard someone say snitch near Jones. Pretty interesting to go along with Klatt and Johnson’s comments. The truth will come out.
It seems all the other Buckeyes giving him hugs didn't get the memo.
they were just messing/joking with him about it.
Caught that too. Convenient Jones transfers out, as well. Story lines up perfect.
Where were these comments?
The comments (transcript) are in the link above

An Instagram post that Worley and Webb commented on. https://twitter.com/zona_buckeye/status/1193315344032632838?s=21
Thank you both.
What would Worley and Webb know anyway? IF it were even a thought that Keandre was the "rat", do you think the players currently on the team would be unaware of it and be taking photos with him after the game? It's more conceivable that the current players would know what's up before Webb or Worley.
"The Edge is where average stops and elite begins"
Probably, but it still could be James Franklin.
If it was Franklin he would have not divulged the info until the after we play Rutgers. Thus ensuring OSU would sit Chase vs PSU. As much as I want it to be Franklin, I just don’t see it.
Even if it wasn't James Franklin, let's face it, it was James Franklin.

Ohio State University President Jim Tressel
If it was or wasn’t, I’m telling the d line that it was in about 7 days
Absolutely. Until it was Harbaugh. Definitely harbaugh in a couple of weeks.
And don't get me started on how Fleck managed to get the information, but he definitely will have found a way.
Doesn't the B1G have bylaws in place that prevent coaches from trying to get another program in trouble with the NCAA by accusing them of cheating? I know the SEC does (case in point Lane Kiffin got in trouble for this when he was at Tennessee in 2009 because he publically accused Urban of cheating and committing NCAA violations when he was at Florida and violated the SEC bylaws by doing so). If the B1G has any similar rules in place and Franklin (or Harbaugh for that matter) were the ones who leaked this that could be a problem for either PSU or scUM.
The only by laws were the 73 points Ryan hung on them.
No. Years ago Woody hung a ton of points on MSU for reporting recruiting violations that didn't exist.

Dabo. Dabo the Rat.
Gotta love it.
Dabo ain't snitching on anyone. He's got enough stuff he's hiding like certain South Carolina churches that funnel money to his players to snitch on anyone.
It was Burrow...he wants that Heisman LOL
Quite frankly I don't care if it was them, harbaugh or Strip club Tom again. There has been so much information just thrown at the wall the last two days I doubt anybody really knows the situation outside of Chase and OSU.
I am just going to wait and see and hope Chase is back by PSU if not, bucks by 30 anyway.
Minnesota won without Chase I'm pretty sure the bucks can too.
Underrated comment of the year....truth.
Not only the calling timeouts, even going for an onside kick early in the game too. It was a great call and well scouted, and I thought nothing of it when we made the play other than, that was a hell of a call. But when you add it with all the other rumors, makes you think...
Well, if it was in fact Maryland that snitched about this "violation" then I thank them for not royally fucking us and waiting until the end of the season. Could have been far more vindictive.
While I agree waiting until the end of the season would’ve hurt OSU more, it wouldn’t have helped Maryland at all.
The timing is definitely peculiar.

Not sure Webb was kidding
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Yea, dont think he got the memo haha. Hes not as well connected as he was, I trust baron and could tell by everyones enthusiasm they were just messing around showing love
This is tough, I can’t imagine why Keandre would snitch and why his former teammates would embrace him if he did. I thought the comments were jokes. I expected it to be a salty parent or program staffer.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
For anyone thinking Keandre would do such a thing!
Maybe I'm reading Browning's response differently than you. Seems Browning was saying the huddle around him at the end was the publicity stunt, not denying that Keandre was the snitch. Who knows though.
There are more connections between Chase Young, his family and Maryland than Kenandre Jones...
STUPID! If Maryland knew why would they call Ohio State instead of the NCAA?? IF they did this, they were helping Ohio State, allowing them to self-report, making it easier on Young and Ohio State football.
OSU was notified the day after the Wisconsin game by the NCAA. They didn't self-report.
Wrong. Until the minute tOSU knew, he was eligible. They strategically called after the Wisky game. The NCAA could have taken weeks to investigate it. This was done to ensure he wouldn't play versus Maryland.
NCAA knew about it before OSU did. Whoever gave them the information did it with the hope that OSU would get punished.
All of these takes are wrong, Nostromo. That's where Chase was for the game.
“I don’t know what Tegridy is but that is some GOOD S#/+.”- Towelie
Does it really matter who did it? Ridiculous rule but I think if you asked a kid in middle school if it would be OK for a college player to borrow money from someone they would probably reply "I don't think so" or "I would ask a coach first". These student athletes are lectured REPEATEDLY to contact the compliance department before doing anything that involves receiving something of value. Two games suspension only please dear lord.
The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win. -- Woody Hayes
You realize it’s not against the rules to burrow money right? Don’t blame the NCAA because you don’t understand the rules
I'm sorry (did not DV you by the way) I have no idea what your post means and what I asserted you disagree with. CY made a statement "I accepted a loan last year that I should not have" and he is being investigated for possible violations of NCAA rules. He could have easily checked first with the compliance department was my point 1. The other side of the coin, some NCAA rules are silly, outdated and unnecessarily harmful was my other point. Feel free to edumacate me as to what you think I'm not getting BR13. :)
I believe locksley is so desperate to keep Ohio State out of the DC area that he was involved. Locksley is a piece of shit.
That could make sense, I hope he didn’t think keeping Chase Young out of the game gave them a chance.
You know what would help him recruit the talent rich state of Maryland and the DC area?? Not get blown out by 60 at home to ANYBODY!!
Think he learned or did this from his old boss, Nick Satan?
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
I don't know if Locksley had a hand in recruiting Chase during the Randy Edsall era but given that he was the OC at the time he very likely had a hand in recruiting Haskins (and Haskins was originally committed to Maryland up until they fired Edsall then he flipped to OSU which would've been around the time Locksley was made the interim HC at Maryland in 2015). So I could see that experience causing Lox to want to take any means necessary to keep OSU out of Maryland. However if this did come from him he more than likely just pulled a Tommy Tuberville on Maryland's recruiting relationship with DeMatha HS going forward.
Um yes they did. Did you see the video after the game when someone called Keandre a snitch? Damming evidence right there.
Yes, it's evidence that you didn't get the joke. You also saw the video where they swarmed Keandre and hugged, right? Tell me what that's evidence of.
It is a pretty well known fact that locksley is a trash human. I would love it if he really did alienate dematha just helps us go in there and take more of their best.
Maryland just has a thing for hiring trash human beings it would seem. First Durkin, now Lox. If you read the reports from the culture investigation last year you'll see their previous AD, Kevin Anderson, was a real piece of work as well and fostered a culture of paranoia and general mistrust across the entire athletic department. Most Maryland fans I've talked to also believe it was pretty well known that the players were regularly taking steroids during the Ralph Friedgen era (so like Clemson now, only without all the winning). They just seem to constantly go from one shitshow to another at that program. Who was the last elite player they put into the NFL outside of Stefon Diggs (I'm thinking it was none other than Boomer Esiason which is of course going way back)?
Shawn Merriman, who was suspended multiple times for PHD's and Vernon Davis who looks like he could have been on them.
Didn't Merriman have basically two great seasons in the NFL and then decline at a rapid pace once he got in trouble for PEDs? I'm not entirely sure I'd classify him as elite (especially later in his career). Vernon Davis sure (I forgot he went to Maryland).
Even folks on the Maryland board are thinking it
Maryland has a board where they discuss football? Seriously? Adorable, if true. Really? Is there a UMD board?
They have an SBNation site (Testudo Times). They talk about all Maryland sports there (they're obviously more competitive in basketball) but they do indeed cover the football team.
They have a 247 board too. Has a pretty entertaining off topic board too.
The folks on the Maryland boards are actually hoping the program gets the death penalty in the near future. That's how disgusted they are with Lox and his team. There's also a surprising number of D.J. Durkin apologists on those boards believe it or not that think he was unjustly fired last year.
This isn’t a rumor or coincidence. There was premeditation behind it. I think that will be part of the mitigation of the penalty.
No. But makes a good scapegoat.
Ua Mau ke Ea o ka 'Aina I ka Pono. The life of the land is preserved in righteousness. (Hawai'i state motto) Aloha nui kakou.
All of these coaches know that they’re about to get smoked by OSU (see Lane Kiffin) so there’s absolutely NO way that Locksley would even think about doing this and damage ties to DeMatha in the process. He may not be the best in-game coach but he’s smart enough to see the talent advantage our defense had and not even try anything that ballsy. It’s more likely that someone that wants Locksley out did this and wanted to damage his recruiting relationships to get him out. And no way Keandre would do this either. Dude is a class act. This was done by a different source/school than Maryland and I’ll put my life on that.

The Life Of PABLO
I don't think Gus & Joel would throw that tidbit out there right before the end of the 1st half if they hadn't been hearing this, that would be terribly irresponsible and I don't think they would do that.
Once a Buckeye, Always a Buckeye
Kyle Rowland now saying multiple sources are telling him Young is facing a maximum suspension of two games and the Maryland game would count as one.
Multiple sources have told The Blade that a ruling should be made this week regarding Chase Young and that hes facing a maximum suspension of two games.
— Kyle Rowland (@KyleRowland) November 10, 2019
That would be about the best we could hope for I would think.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
Best outcome at this point would be one game and MD game being that one game.
It was probably Herbie..he doesn't want his boys to lose a chance at Clemson winning this year.
Let’s blame Harbaugh, too. Why? Just because he’s Harbaugh!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
If Harbaugh is to be blamed then he deserves to be punished.
I love this....Blame Harbaugh because....why not?
I think Chase admitted and took responsibility for this mistake. I'm going respect his maturity here and let him use this to grow on it. I think he's a good kid with monster talent.
It doesn't matter if we disagree with the rules, if they're there you follow them. I still have an issue of the timing of how this so-called friend came about. I mean, if it was an uncle or a childhood friend it would have been different.
There are plenty of gf's that stayed home and missed out on the Rose Bowl. Heck, he's eventually going to be making her life a lot better once he hits the NFL. Missing out on Pasadena would have been no problem.
