Not sure a one loss PAC 12 conference champ would get in over an 11-1 Bama that sits out the SEC title game. I would put Bama out but not sure the committee would.
To counter this point, a one loss penn state gets in over bama.
I agree that they should. Disagree that they would.
I think they would put them out (and I agree with you, I definitely would). 12-1 conference champ needs to almost always trump 11-1 division runner up. While the Pac-12 hasn't been super strong, it is no ACC, and Alabama isn't going to have much to hang their hat on if they lose to LSU.
That's where Bama's really bad SOS comes into play. I think if they lose to LSU they are out.
Fields of Dreams
I agree 100% with this. But since Bama is sitting at 3 right now, already above PSU and Clemson, apparently SOS concerns don't apply to them.
I think I'll just root for Ohio State to win out. You want to be the best, you got to beat the best. Personally, I'd like a crack a Clemson.
Man….. this football team.-Jeff Okudah
Agreed, 1. Ohio State vs. 4. Clemson or 2. Ohio State vs. 3. Clemson sounds quite right to me.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
I will always say if you can't win your conference there is no 2nd chance you had it and blew it. LSU beats Bama then Bama turns around and beats LSU for example which team is better? The debate will go on for ever with no clear cut Champion.
Bama and LSU won't ever play twice in the same season. They're in the same division.

2011 never happened
I just want to play bama and Clemson back to back and whoop them both. If Georgia somehow got in over bama that's fine too. Just give me Clemson. Their bandwagon fans have been insufferable after 4 years of relevancy and I would LOVE to take them down a notch.
Gah, I am still mad at Urban Meyer for that god-awful loss to those dopes.
Two of them, to be exact.
The interception at the end of the 2013 Orange Bowl wasn't an interception... right??? RIGHT???!!!
Pray for potatoes with a hoe in your hand.
I hope Bama gets knocked out of the playoffs altogether, let's play Clemson and LSU, we owe them both.
Rooting for OSU mainly. I would love to see Clemson lose a game, but doubt that they will. I hope LSU and Alabama destroy each other.
They’re not putting Utah (or Oregon or Baylor) in over Alabama
PG <3 PG
They will do everything they can to justify keeping Alabama in. Alabama would need to lose a second game to be left out.
I disagree, FP. If LSU blows the doors off Bama on Sat, and Bama wins out, their best win will be against an Auburn team that finishes 9-3 or more likely 8-4. Their next best win is A&M, who is 6-3 and has yet to play UGA and LSU.
Utah or Oregon will have better wins than Bama, and the Comittee has put a higher priority on wins than one close loss in the past. Of the two, I think Utah has the better shot, because their loss was in conference and not to an SEC team. But even Oregon's can be forgiven; they never trailed in that game until the last play.

It's a huge IF, but IF 11-1 Utah and 11-1 Oregon are playing conference championship week, they are likely not sitting worse than #6 and #7 at that point. Assuming Georgia is #4 or #5 that week and LSU is #1 or #2 you know someone in front of them is losing. Every part of you might say Bama is simply better, but to ignore a 12-1 P5 conference champ in favor of a 11-1 non-division champ is going to end this thing immediately, especially if that P5 champ is on a 12 game winning streak and only lost because they did exactly what you wanted them to do, play a top ~15 team in the non-conference.
Clemson losing a game is the only thing I really hope for - it's clear the committee will keep them out.

Would love to see Clemson lose, but if they lost even once, it'd be an all time shocker. Don't think anyone is coming within 24 points of them the rest of the year.
They seem to have found their footing, but early in the year, they were sleep walking. Still think there is a chance they just don't show up some time. It's college football.
Buckeye fans just became huge Gamecock fans.
we already were. loved watching them beat Georgia.
Clemson....Doo Doo....ACC....Isn't that redundant?
Year for what?
Well, if new teams in the playoff is your goal, you should root for Minnesota to row the boat through the B1G Championship without losing.
Ute better believe that Minnesota/Utah semifinal would be fire.
I don’t know if I could Bear the thought of Clemson Ducking the playoffs.
I want new coaches in the playoff, if that counts.
Ryan Day, come on down.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
I want Ohio State vs. LSU, and Ohio State vs. Alabama or Clemson. How do I get that?

Let's wait and see if the Buckeyes make it through the schedule and Championship game. It is college. Anything can happen. Although I'd like to fantasize about drubbing Alabama and Clemson in the same year, it would be one hell of an accomplishment.
The Buckeyes are so good this year I'll feel worse if they lose than I did last year. They were a disaster waiting to happen last year and then it did with Purdue. In can only marvel at the way this coaching staff prepares for games.
It is so hard to go undefeated in college football, especially in the B1G. Odds have to favor Ohio State dropping one of Penn State, Michigan, or the B1G championship.
Pains me to say this, but the best one to drop would be to TTUN. We win the other two we are still in the Playoff.
the best one to drop would be to TTUN.
I mean obviously I don’t want Ohio State to drop any of them, and they will be favored in every game but going undefeated is just so hard to do that it should not be expected.
