The two greatest words in all of sports - Game Seven!
Five years ago yesterday, I was able to attend a WS Game Seven, and it was truly a magical experience. I am pumped up for tonight, and I don't even have a dog in the fight. I just love Game Sevens.
There is nothing like it! Sure, I get more joy out of an Ohio State win, but the pageantry and magic of Game Seven is truly unique.

Nice! I was in the OF stands as a kid for Braves-Indians in 1995 (possibly game 5 - would have to check). Orel Hersheiser started for Cleveland. Of course, the Tribe lost and lost the Series too.
Game Sevens are magical, and weird. All the rules of managing a normal game seem to go out the window, or maybe they're amplified to a level that managers just do crazy shit.
I was listening to ESPN radio this afternoon, and they were discussing starting pitchers who may come in for just a batter or two. And someone brought up the point, that just because they're great starters, putting them in as relievers doesn't always work. One of the pitchers they were discussing hasn't pitched a relief inning since college. It's a totally different mindset.

So, live. Live. Fight like hell. And when you get too tired to fight then lay down and rest and let somebody else fight for you. "

Risk - Reward
In my aforementioned Game Seven, I saw Madison Bumgarner come into the game and rip the collective heart out of Kansas City. The Royals absolutely owned their bullpen and would have won that series.
Go Nats! That Soto kid is truly unbelievable.
Fields of Dreams
It has been a strange series, with the away team winning every game so far. By that metric the Nationals should win tonight. I am pulling for the Astros a bit, just because I am more of an AL guy and they have been dominant all year.
Both teams have had big ups and downs in the series. I thought the Astros were going to take the game last night but shows what I know. Went to bed after the 4th.
First time in history the series has gone six games without the home team winning at least one. So it's already going into the history books. If the Nats can pull off the win, it will be one for the ages.
It's the first time that's happened in any postseason series in any major sport.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
It's kind of crazy that possibly the two best pitchers of this generation, Kershaw and Verlander, have had absolutely abysmal postseason results.
As for Game 7, I just hope I can stay awake that late.
Verlander has fairly good postseason stats, EXCEPT for in the WS. But he has dominated some ALDS and ALCS in the past. Is also the all time K leader in the postseason. Wouldn't call it abysmal.
I have no pity for Verlander, he's done ok off the mounds...
Respect to Scherzer, give him credit for giving it a go tonight, I just don't have good vibes the Nats get it done.
Helluva series in any case.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
I get this odd feeling you're Upton no good with that comment, Hove.

I would grade your comment as a D.

Let's go, Astros!
Game $even... Haven't watched this world series, but I was at the watch party in Cleveland to witness the Shitcago Cubs rain delay their way to victory. Would have been the best year in Ohio professional sports history... in my opinion.
Needless to say I put another curse on the Cubs. They'll never win another world series ever.

TBDSNITL: The best damn screen name in the land!
That'll be worth a lot of money in 400 years when it is a relic of a long forgotten franchise. Also the fact that it will be illegal to possess such heretical memorabilia should add to its value.
Also, go Nats.
I'm just watching for the titties!
^ Underrated comment right there.
Rooting for the Nats. My buddy is the social media manager for them and I also have some family from the area. Been shadow following them for a while now. So pumped.

Damn, I'm so tired of hearing Joe Buck's voice...does he ever shut up???
No. That’s kind of his job.
Astros fan since before the rainbows , I certainly hope they pull it out .
Zack Greinke is filthy tonight.
Not sure taking him out was a great idea (and yes, I realize that is easy for me to say now).
Yeah, that wasn't a good decision.
Wow, did this game change in a hurry.
Hold on to this Nationals.....keep the momentum.
IT. WAS. A. FUMBLE.
Dang, I hop in the shower and it’s 2-0 Astros. Get out 5 minutes later and it’s 3-2 nats. Crazy stuff, kinda enjoyable to watch with no skin in the game...
Yeah. Only problem is I am definitely staying up until the end now. Going to be tired tomorrow.
I shut it down and went to bed at 2-0 after the fifth inning when Sherzer was at or over 100 pitches. Figured it was over. Your welcome, Nats fans.
Not walking Soto was stupid.
Nationals are playing to win , Houston , going thru the motions . I hope they come back but they needed to be alot more aggressive , theyve left way to many on base .
Stros down to 3 outs. What a game. What a series.
I’m rolling with Corbin to start the ninth.
Seven road wins?
This is unreal!
The only guy Smith gets out is Gomes. As an Indians fan, this seems right.
I’ve lived in D.C. for three months and I’m really going to witness a title after it took me over 22 years to get anything from Cleveland.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
If you think Cole is your best pitcher, is there a reason he didn’t start the 9th?
No. Should have started the 8th and finished the game.
I mean he threw 110 pitches on Sunday and they were already down 2 runs. My guess is if it was tied or they were winning he would've pitched the 9th. That's the only thing I can think of.
Update: Just found this quote:
"I wasn't going to pitch him [Cole] unless we were going to win the World Series and have a lead," Hinch said. "He was going to help us win. He was available, and I felt it was a game that he was going to come in had we tied it or taken the lead."
So keeping the deficit to two runs wouldn't be helping the Astro's win? At that point all they would need is one of Springer, Altuve, or Brantley to get on to bring Bregman to the plate as the tying run. It's not like there was another game to save him for. There is a good chance he will never pitch for the Astros again. It kind of feels like the Astros gave up once they lost the lead.
Unbelievable! Congrats to the Nats. First time ever that no team won a game at home. That’s crazy.
Congrats to the Nats. The silver lining for me in this is that I’ve never had multiple teams I root for win a championship in the same year, so here’s to hoping it’s the Buckeye’s turn this year.
I think this loss is on the manager . ZG has a one hitter going on , gives up a HR then a walk so lets pull him ! Houstons relievers have been suspect all season , why chance it now ? I could see putting in Cole , probably still better to leave ZG in though.
This was a completely different Astros team than the regular season , maybe the World Series does it but this team was barely recognizable compared to all year long.
I wasn't impressed by the Houston manager at all, he made some questionable decisions throughout the series.
Enjoy it nats fans. Pitchers and catchers report in 3 weeks to start defending it.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton

The bobbleheads hate the offseason.
What happened? A couple of those flags look bent.
Three flags are apparently missing as well. It doesn't hold up as well as the Stanley Cup does. It must have been some celebration.
Heavier than it looks and can be worn like a hat might be clues.
