So glad we dont have to play at kinnick this year. It seems the only program immune to upsets there is Wisconsin. Kinnick will almost bite Penn St but the the lions win on a game winning field goal.
They have to visit every other year. We're going there about once a decade. #Big game. Every time. No matter, Day will destroy them next time we see them.
Don't judge me because I'm quiet. No one plans a murder out loud.
brothadudeguy: I just wanted to clarify something about Iowa. OSU has lost at Iowa 7 times in history, and only 3x since the the 60's (OSU has won there 15x in that time span). Overall OSU is 47-15 against Iowa. Iowa beat visiting OSU in 2017, 2004, 1983, and 1960, so OSU is something like 28-6 since 1960 against Iowa (Iowa won @OSU in 87 & 91).
"When you're part of a team, you stand up for your teammates. Your loyalty is to them. You protect them through good and bad, because they'd do the same for you." Yogi Berra
Interesting information but I was speaking more about recent teams visiting kinnick over the last 5-10 years. Especially at night. They got TTUN in 2016, beat the brakes off of us in 2017, almost got Penn st in 2017 as well.
penn st by 20.
Penn st will blast Iowa tomorrow. Iowa is pathetic on offense this year.
I would agree with you about their offense but theres something about that place at night.
Penn St will blow Iowa out by 35. Nittany Lions are legit this year and pose a real threat to our Buckeyes.
Florida will get pummeled. Probably about 5 turnovers in the process.
I'll disagree. Florida seems to be one of those teams that just grinds out wins while not looking that great overall. The LSU team has a suspect defense so I think it will be close. The Gators will have a problem with Burrow though and the game is in the Bayou. I think the game is a toss up.
I'm not trying to win a popularity contest. I'm trying to win football games-- Woody Hayes
You are wise and you certainly took this round! I thought Florida was too sloppy to hang on the road in this one but they did all right for sure.
Penn State is not Michigan. The Nits have too many weapons on offense—Clifford, Journey Brown, Noah Cain, Ricky Slade—and have started to put it together. Iowa will try to slow things down but won’t be able to move the chains with its inept offense and won’t be able to keep up. Stanley will be so harassed, he’ll sue his OL for abandonment. I see this ending similar to OSU-MSU: Penn State 38, Iowa 13.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
All oddly reminiscent of what we were saying about our team two years ago. Iowa by 2.
Life is full of choices. Make good ones.
Iowa doesn’t have the weapons on offense it did two years ago—two first round TEs and an 1,100 yard RB, who ran for 118 yards against Ohio State—nor the balance (244 yards passing and 243 yards rushing against the Buckeyes). Penn State is playing Iowa for the fourth time in four years. I see it being closer to 2006 (PSU 41-14) than 2017 (PSU 21-19). PSU plays Michigan next week so this is obviously a trap game but James Franklin has no excuses for overlooking or underestimating the Hawkeyes.
And yet... PSU won, but the Iowa magic almost happened again.
Bye week doesn’t even show up to play. tOSU 69 - Bye Week 0.
It’s pronounced “Thee”.
Bye weeks almost always win. Do not tease that tiger.

Penn State almost lost at Kinnick in 17. Penn State - 24 Iowa - 17
"Medicine is not a science" - Leo Spaceman
But the thing is that Franklin has yet to beat a ranked opponent on the road since he started.... Maybe he shakes the bugaboo on this try though we all know that Kinnick has some evil magic flowing out of it...

Beat the bye! Study hard, prep for the next game. Stay focused! Dont care about anything else
Dabo will have Clemson ready to fake the funk against Willie's band of misfits.
If Iowa couldn't score against Michigan, they will be utterly inept against the Nits.

FSU wins a close one and Dabo gets an MRI after the game... allegedly.
Behold the chunky whoop ass.
Dabo, Ginger and Boots walk into a bar
I saw Ryan Day hang 62 on Michigan...His hair was perfect.
Go Buckeyes Beat Michigan
Love the tagline, Beat.
Aaaaa - oooohhhhh!
"It's always scotch-thirty on my island."
Iowa lost on the last play against the best Penn State team in the last 25 years two years ago. I think Penn State wins, but it'll be another nail biter in Kinnick. 21-17 PSU.
Tom Brady lost to John Cooper. Never forget.
URBAN MEYER WILL COACH ONE OF THESE PROGRAMS. USC WINS.
URBAN MEYER WILL COACH ONE OF THESE PROGRAMS. NOTRE DAME WINS.
URBAN MEYER WON'T COACH EITHER OF THESE PROGRAMS. USC WINS.
URBAN MEYER WON'T COACH EITHER OF THESE PROGRAMS. NOTRE DAME WINS.
Urban Meyer does Urban Meyer things, coaches both of these programs.
At the same time.
I had to go with the big Illini upset. It’s my duty.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Ttun is in the midst of an epic downward spiral, the Illini speed up the collapse.
Clemson deterioration has just begun and will be put on display when they lose.
Victory loves preparation
Right on both accounts! Now that I think about it, 2019 Clemson is more 2014 FSU than they are 2015 Ohio State.
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
21-20 penn state squeaks out against Iowa, Franklin livid throughout entire game.
Iowa beats the Fighting Franklins to keep our 2017 rematch in Indy intact.
USC beats Notre Dame, the Irish are super overrated.
Clemson wins but FSU covers. I think they're more 2015 Buckeyes than the 2015 Buckeyes were!
Brandon Peters and Lovie Smith > Jim Harbaugh and Shea Patterson.
UM walks all over the Frightened Illini.
Iowa keeps it close until late in the third quarter. Penn State by a TD.
LSU gets tested by the first real defense they’ve seen all year. Bayou Bengals win in an ugly slug fest.
Navy gets another conference win at Tulsa and improves to 4-1.
Go Navy, beat Tulsa!
Joe Burrow over 400 yards combined running and passing and Jeaux Bayou and company easily cover.
michigan beats bad B1G team and Illinois is a bad B1G team.
OU wins the shootout. Last team with the ball type game, with no defense to be found.
Iowa is tough at home they'll nab a win this week. All the defense that was missing from the Big XII game.
Clemson and Michigan are going to win, and I badly want Illinois to cover, but they're just too bad. FSU does though.
ND over USC easily. Lost season for the Trojans.
Sparty gives Wisconsin an early scare, but they wear down late and the Badgers are victorious again.
The LSU vs UF +/- is currently 55. LSU approaches 55 on their own, actual total exceeds 75. Where's the SEC defense??
Wisconsin over Sparty , but JT has reasonable yardage
PSU has slow start but handles Iowa Big
oklahoma over TX in OT
LSU and Bayou Jeaux tame gators
"Vitalum Vitalis "
Oklahoma wins a close one.
Clemson is due for a deceptively decisive victory against one of the litany of inferior opponents they'll face this year. They're fake good.
USC sucks. Notre Dame sucks less. Urbs to USC next year. You heard it here first.
PSU > Iowa, but who cares?
Illinois is Rutgers West, but Michigan can stub their toe on even the flattest of doormats. They cover, but somehow manage to look unimpressive doing so.
Cam Akers runs for 2TDs. FSU sacks Lawrence 3/4 times and he comes out, rattled. FSU 24 Clemson 17
"Ryan Day is our Baby Yoda. We must protect him with our lives." ~ D. J. Byrnes
Just wishful thinking. *hangs my head in shame*
I’m sensing 2007 all over again for Illinois. Like, beat the buckeyes 2007. But this is 2019 and it’s gonna be scUM. Illinois is scUMming for them. Mwaahhahahaha. Illini by 1
OSU survives the bye week without any arrests, but one non-starter receives a three-game suspension for a “violation of team rules.”
I really hope this one makes the "not even close" list
Me too, but bye weeks can be tough sometimes.
Important one u missed: MSU beats Wisconsin by 7!
Curse of the Bye Week: whoever wins between #4 LSU and #7 Florida will leap idle Ohio State in the rankings. A Gator win will give them two wins over top 7 teams and a Tiger win will give them two wins over top 9 teams. The voters will reward the victor.
It's not a BYE. Ohio State is not currently participating in a tournament. OSU is IDLE this week.
Please tell the NFL that since nfl.com uses BYE for teams that are idle. And Bucknuts uses it on Ohio State’s schedule.
Thanks for playing. Bye, now.
Well, when ABC posted a graphic of Notre Dame's remaining schedule they used IDLE to describe what they were doing the week they weren't scheduled to play. The NFL has always pandered to their less educated fans. Bye!!!
So you’re suggesting that a network that uses the simplest and least complex acronym possible is the most credible authority for educated people on this topic? So far, ABC is your one and only source. I provided two. ESPN’s NFL schedule makes three. Cleveland.com makes four. SBNation is five. Google “bye week” and hundreds of usages pop up. Suffice to say, at the very minimum, whether grammatically correct or not, BYE and IDLE (and we may as well throw in OFF) have become acceptable synonyms.
The NFL does have BYE weeks. The first weekend of the Playoffs. Four teams have a BYE. The MLS also has two teams on BYE weeks right now. The B1G Basketball And Hockey Tournaments have them, too. Ohio State was not waiting around this week waiting for a game to be played to see who they would play next. They already knew it would be NW because they are on the schedule.
