Honorable Mention; Barnes and his influence on ST.
A lion sleeps in every man, dissatisfaction moves him, complacency keeps him asleep.
3 blocks in 4 games. I get why he isn’t getting more publicity, but in a bigger game against stiffer competition, those plays could be the difference. I’m not thinking about any recent past history or anything....
Made a comment yesterday pointing Hartline greeting Wilson on the sideline after that circus TD catch...a coach very much engaged with his charges, instructing and striving for them to do their best.
Kind of a recurring theme across the entire program.
It's conference fulltime gotime now.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Saw that too Hove; Hartline's always seems to be coaching them up even after a great play; saw Al Washington doing the same with his LB's. I think it's part of the culture started by Urban and continuing with Coach Day, positive reinforcement and teaching.
Go Bucks; keep this thing rolling right through Lincoln!
The only hard day was yesterday
Hat tips to Jashon Cornell (4 stops, 1 TFL), Malik Harrison (4 stops, 1 TFL) and Davon Hamilton (3 stops, 2 TFL)
Love seeing the seniors on defense stepping up their games this year. Hamilton has been outstanding not only clogging but making some outstanding tackles behind the LOS.
Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.
I want to give some love to the DTs causing chaos yesterday. Its not every game you see the 300lb big boys at the top of the stat sheet ahead of the linebackers. Everyone knows about the threat coming off the edge from Chase Young. Everyone also knows how tough it is to complete passes to the outside against our veteran corners. Add to that the threat that our deep DT rotation will just melt the middle of your line and there is literally nowhere to go to escape the silver bullets.

Amen. Hamilton is really coming on. That said our interior DLine has never been more stout. Legit 9 man rotation. Forget running up the gut. That’s only helping #2 and Co. Hoping 67 was only help out as a precaution and 11 is not as ominous as I fret.
Davon Hamilton has had a great start to the season
Love that the bucks are getting the young studs plenty of quality playing time. Look at Zach Harrison, for example, and you can see the growth from week to week of actual game time, not just practice. The more the young guys play the quicker the game will slow down for them, and that will lead to not just depth, but quality depth. Day has this team focused and engaged, the sky is the limit for this team.
Seeing him out there running around and making tackles away from the line of scrimmage was nothing short of impressive. He looks like a giant fast linebacker.
What an insane outcome. We’ve played cream puffs before, but 42 points in a quarter might not ever happen again.
That said, hopefully the message in practice this week is forget completely about that game. It’s an aberration.
Time to get serious and double down on preparation.
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
Right? I don't think Hartline is the type to simply chase a paycheck. But I wouldn't want to test that hypothesis.
It's not always about the money folks. Hartline played what, 5 years or so in the league and did pretty well from an earnings standpoint I'm guessing. He's coaching the position he played at his Alma Mater; appears to love the job and I'm sure his family loves Columbus. I could totally wrong but I think he's probably pretty content where he's at.
Go Bucks beat the Huskers!
I think and hope you're right. I also think it would have been completely irresponsible to bump him up into the elite coordinator pay echelon after just one year. That said, our wide receiver play and recruiting are both on fire; it would be prudent to start bumping his pay incrementally towards that elite echelon now before other programs start making really attractive offers.
Young was reeeeeally close to getting a third sack yesterday.
Bet you can't say "Bert Bielma is a bumbling buffoon" five times fast.
You are correct. He went in high, just a little too high. He might have had a third strip sack in only 1/2 of a game.

I'll take more of Wilson on punt returns please.
Give me a guy who runs and does not want to show how he moves on the dance floor.
First and goal at the five and Arch is getting the ball.
Hartline needs a big pay raise....need to keep him here.
King of Prussia. I lay this hate on you. :-)
I haven’t posted a comment on here in probably two years, but Chris has inspired me. As a lover of the band, a friend of Tim Barney and a bearer of the surname Wilson, the King of Prussia reference pretty much made my day.
I think Chris is the Duke of Lizards
That is entirely possible. Beg it all trune for him.
He and Wilson can still have fun
Watching the resurgence of the defense has me reminiscing and feeling like a Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday.
Shout out to Bin Victor. He's been a revelation so far. Does he even have a single drop yet? Different dude.
Mentioned that in a thread last week. Plenty to be happy about but BV has looked very good!
What could have been.....*sigh* Bosa and Young.
Bosa with a muscle tear and Young 2 tender ankles. Go Bucks!!
My biggest takeaway from yesterday is that it’s time to play ONLY Power 5 vs Power 5 in college football. This is so long overdue. 76-5, are you kidding me? It’s bad for the sport, it’s pointless, it makes no sense. Move all of the Group of 5 teams to FCS where they can actually compete for a championship (Top FCS programs have better attendance than MAC & Sun Belt teams because their season actually has a point).
Every Power 5 conference should play 10 conference games and two non conference games against Power 5 opponents. Saban was the first to call for this and he’s 100% right. It’s what the players want, the fans want & the TV networks.
College football is the best sport imo, and it’s not even operating at close to full strength. Yesterday the #1 & 2 ranked teams were playing Charolette & Southern Miss. Time to end this ridiculousness.
Great last three quarters of football. Can not get off to a slow start next week. Need to quiet that atmosphere as quickly as possible and play a complete game. Go Bucks
I have been very impressed with Baron Browning; quick, good reads, showing confidence, positioning, and hitting holes hard. Tuff has been playing well too, but I think Baron has that extra step getting to the outside. That is going to be crucial as the competition gets better in this big ten gauntlet. Great job to both thus far and we need them to keeping pushing.
Garrett Wilson is so talented and has some speed to go along with some terrific hands! Jameson Williams is even faster I believe and the combo of those two and our 2020 class is going to give us the best WR group in the country in my opinion. Hartline has been incredible so far and we need to pay him what he’s worth-a lot! Ben Victor has impressed too. Mack doesn’t seem like he’s quite back to full form yet but remains to be seen. Olave has shown remarkable consistency. He may be the most well rounded of the group!
Jameson could be the next Parris. Could be because I can’t tell how fast the others were. But my eyes saw acceleration like a PC or maybe even Ginn
I’m thinking the same thing but I actually think he might have better hands. He’s from my neck of the woods though so I’m probably a little biased:)
Hartline was one fabulously GREAT HIRE period!
So was this the largest margin of victory for a comeback win ?
