My man... RIP
Ripping up those weasels at 150 lbs! Wow! What a man. What a legend. R.I.P. Mr. Cassady!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
His legacy at Ohio State will live forever.
RIP to one of the GOATs.

I actually feel pretty dumb in not realizing that he was still alive.
After seeing the above picture, it hit me that we only have three still with us. I just never thought about it before.
A life well lived, Rest in Peace Hop!
RIP Hop. Buckeye Nation lost a great one. May you forever smile watching The Ohio State University stomp _ichigan.
Sad day, indeed... RIP

May you Rest In Peace. Thank you for playing such a great part in the history of this University. Your legacy will be remembered, appreciated and celebrated for generations.
My watch has no numbers .. it always reads "Time for the Buckeyes to kick some ass"
There are thousands and thousands of football players, but only a select few are legends! Hop was one of the elite. RIP
Rest in Peace. Legend!

RIP, Hopalong Cassady.

I've always loved watching tape on him. A true legend that changed the game. I'd love to hear Jack Park's take on Hopalong.
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

His play that was shown the most in my youth was his interception return for a TD against #2 Wisconsin that catapulted Ohio State to #1 in the country after beating them. It is strange to remember that those grainy black and white film highlights were only about 20 years old when I saw them in the mid-70's on Ohio State Football specials on local TV. Also, don't forget his time with the Columbus Clippers.
This saddens me greatly. As a kid, my dad and I mostly listened to Hop's games on WTAM radio in Cleveland with Tom Manning broadcasting. Manning was a red head so he took special interest in Hopalong. And, he was one of the first to wear low-cut cleats!
I thought he was the GREATEST college player of all time. Woody said the same until Archie came along.
He was here in Warren for a fundraiser and I had the great opportunity to drive him to the Cleveland Hopkinks airport. He invited me to have breakfast with him at the hotel he was staying.
He was every bit a great human being as he was a football player. That was one of the greatest thrills of my life!
Our dear God will take great care of you, Hop, and he will bless and comfort your family as well. I will miss him greatly.
great story. Thanks
I would hope that the team wears either a black arm band with his jersey number
or a helmet leaf (black) with his jersey number
R-I-P Mr. Cassidy
RIP Great One!

Too soon for The Hopalong Ohio or Ohio Hopalong Stadium?
Was a good dude. I remember when I was a batboy for the clippers, he was the first base coach and he was just a neat guy to talk to.
The down vote is a mighty tool. Use it on idiots, not differing opinions.
This is a sad week for us old timers.
