this guy has a pretty solid offer list for a 3*. Also, 24/7 lists him at 6'8.5", 230 lbs. -- so he's got good size. Welcome to the Bucks, Mr. Key!

50/50 I would say some of those schools are 3 stars too and the better ones would they take him at this moment or plan B. On the other hand you need guys like him and maybe a sleeper. I should shut my yap  since I don't follow hoop recruiting a lot.

I trust Holtmann and company when it comes to talent evaluation. You can never have too many big bodies underneath, which OSU does need. I like the pickup.

you were honest about your knowledge. kudos to your yap:)

247 lists him as 6’7, 215 lbs...

I've been told he's more 6-7 than 6-8.

Well, I'm glad we got someone named Zed. It seems reports of his death were overblown. That's a Pulp Fiction reference for any without the knowledge

You sure that isn't #33 Lauranitis' chopper?

I thought that you were happy that the Bucks are covered from A to Zed as they say in England.

Let's Go Bucks

Welcome to Buckeye Nation, Zed Key!!!

He’s a solid big with both a face up and back to the basket game. And in an era of positionless players, he’ll be a good inside player. Glad to have him!

Zed ain't dead.......he's coming to Columbus............

Please do not curb your enthusiasm!

I'd rather be a minute early than an hour early, 'cause I like to procrastinate.

HS

I'm guessing they won't let him sign during the early period ? .... unless coach knows something we don't...  6'7" or 6'8.5"  maybe he is still growing.......

HS
stxbuck's picture

If he is still growing, that could be scary-he's got some definition on those guns........

That's the interesting question, or is it like football, the number doesn't change until practice starts?

It's obvious someone, I wonder who that could be?, has told h. he won't be back next year. As good as osu should be next year, you hate to see a borderline pro leave early, but it's his career, and he should live it accordingly. Goodluck Kaleb!

I do remember the crean of the crop at iu did oversign a few years running. But he was running two or three guys off the team, a different scenario entirely, as far as anyone knows. I don't remember osu ever doing it in bb. Although they technically still haven't done it-until they both sign and one hasn't left the squad. It's not a bad strategy when you know one is leaving, it's better than getting leftovers or waiting a year to fill it and putting a player one year behind on development.

Could be a taller version of Jae’Sean Tate....which I like a lot. Welcome Zed!

TG Proud Buckeye alumnus.

If he becomes the next J. Tate, I'll be good with that. Or even a utility player, eventually. He is a developmental for the 3/4 spot. And of his jump shot improves will help with the rebounds on the floor. Undersized, but hopefully that is not his heart and will be able to help there right away.

A 3 stars big man commit that can use both hands and catch the ball.

Not a bad find.

Funny how the video does not make it look like he's 6-7

Congrats young man and welcome to the family

The off season bites !!

If he becomes the next J. Tate, I'll be good with that. Or even a utility player, eventually. He is a developmental for the 3/4 spot. And if his jump shot improves, that will help get him some playing time. He can become a solid edition in helping with the rebounding on the weak side. Undersized, but hopefully his heart is not.and hoping he can contribute
there right away.

There's a lot to like with Zed:

  • A throwback, back-to-the-basket big man with a 7-foot wingspan
  • Good shooter: 54% FG, 92% FT  (16 ppg)
  • Good rebounder: 6.5/game
  • Good patience and footwork
  • Good size & strength
  • Good attitude*

* HS coach: “He just wants to do whatever we need him to do to help us win.”

Welcome, young man.

Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !

I see Wisconsin as part of his offer list. He sounds exactly like the kind of player that school is famous for developing slowly, to the point where he can really contribute as a junior and senior. Plus he's already got Big Ten-level bulk, which has sometimes been an issue with our power forwards.

The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
