Woo Hoo! First snaps and stats for Cade Stover! I'm tellin' ya, this dude is gonna be a stud for the Buckeyes!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
Is he wearing #16, Major? Saw a 16 out there in D late and didn't know who it was.
Yes, Cade Stover wears No. 16.
Hope it's okay that I answered for Major H.
My man. Thanks Matt.
You're good. Thanks for the assist!
I hope so, but he missed a tackle when the Cincy RB almost scored at the end of the game.
He did trip the guy and made him start to stumble, allowing help to ambush him.
The 2019 class is relatively small but I think they will make a substantial impact. A lot to be excited about with the three 5 star players but many others will surely shine. Shaw is my dark horse 3 star player who will surprise people down the road.
Harrison isn't reacting well to bigger/faster/better competition. Gets engaged with a blocker, doesn't counter-move and doesn't pursue if the action goes to the other side. Whiff-for-41 snaps isn't because anybody's running away from him yet.
North until you smell it, west until you step in it
Too early to make an assessment on Harrison in my opinion. True freshman who will undoubtedly get bigger and stronger and improve his technique. I think a lot of getting true freshman in there is just so they gain an understanding of what it will take for them to succeed. He seems like a good, intelligent young man with solid work ethic. Johnson is his coach and his athleticism is off the charts. I don’t think there is anything to worry about yet.

Between goals and achievement is discipline and consistency. That fire you have inside to do whatever you love is placed there by God. Now go claim it. ~ Denzel Washington
Interesting that Dawand Jones is getting snaps even if only on special teams. Wonder if he is showing that well or just letting him get a time with the 4 game rule.
6'8 with a wingspan to match is ideal for blocking kicks..
It was for one snap, the FG attempt. Weird that he not only could forego the RS but potentially also letter via FG/PATs only.
279 shutouts? That figure can't possible be right
You're right, the number isn't 279...it's 280. I forgot to include Saturday's shutout in the count (it is now updated).
This is the 130th season of Ohio State football. 280 shutouts average out to just over 2 shutouts a season. Remember, over time, the game has evolved and the Buckeyes' opponents started to recruit a little bit better than in the early days.
Most of the shutouts came before 1980. In fact, this is the first time Ohio State has had a double-digit shutout decade since the '70s. By far, the decade with the most shutouts was 1900-09 (52).
To put everything in a different perspective, Ohio State has now played 1,303 games. That means the team gets a shutout in just over 21% of its games. Or, the Buckeyes get a shutout in one out of every 4.65 games.
Thorough response. Just very surprised how high that is. Was just a different game back then I suppose.
Half the shutouts happened before Pearl Harbor, so these days it averages just a very short hair above once a season.

He ran angry!! I like it!
Steele Chambers is indeed an incredible football name, Remy. Destined for success.
True indeed, but not quite as great as Mr. Crowley.
It would be interesting if we had two-back formations featuring Master Teague and Marcus Crowley and the coaches dubbed the package "Master Crowley."
Just catch a TD every time and I’ll be happy with you, Mr. Wilson
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
That wasn't a catch most freshman make Victor would of never got that a year or two ago but he has looked much better in the early going. Let's see what he does vs better talent though in Victor but for now hail to the victor.
Ahem . . . I shan't be hailing to any victors, just carmening to the O-H !!!
Once they get 4 games in these numbers will go down I bet. Jones is a project and on the line on field goals is a great idea and just maybe Jones will be a player they are not worried about saving his clock here. I would like to think top notch o lineman are in the plans for the future but I never expected our left tackle to turn out like he has either. We all know there are sleepers but we reached out again this year on a kid and I hope it's not a yearly thing for the o line because we are not going to hit oil all the time with projects.
Line Jones up in a gap by the snapper, take one step forward and jump!
Dawand Jones was all-state in Indiana for basketball, so he has the athleticism to go along with the size.
He has only been playing football since his junior year in high school IIRC. It seems that he might have some upside to go in football.
In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...
