I thought NW moved the ball better with Green. I am not sure why he wasn't the guy while they give Johnson more time to learn the offense. Johnson has to make a big leap or it will be a long season for the Cats.
You've got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.
I have never been sold on Johnson. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and again and again until he proves otherwise: he’s a Shane Morris clone.

He doesn't seem to have a very high ceiling. He might be competent by the end of the season but they are going to be asking stuff of him next week he isn't ready for.
BIG had an up and down week, but frankly so did other conferences. As to next week, if we are more consistent, we should not have trouble with the Fightin' Fickells. I'm excited for the team as we go forward! Beat the Bearcats!

Good opening weekend for the Big10. Wisky impressed while no one truly crapped the bed. Nevada over Purdue was not unexpected nor was the result of the Nerd Bowl. Even the Illini and Lovie got a piece of the winning action. It looks like the path to the Big10 CCG is not going to be easy in either division.
Too much time spent at the North Heidelberg rather than the classroom. SSD 68-72
I never got the Frost hype. They underwhelmed.
Ohio, the greatest state in the Union!
I thought that Big Ten teams playing FCS schools was taboo? Perhaps the game was already scheduled before the new rule took effect?
Fcs rule was removed when they went to 9 conference games.

Idaho had been FBS until last season (they were 1-AA years ago). The game against Penn State was scheduled when U of Idaho was still FBS, I’m guessing.
OSUCOM 2008 Graduate. Go Bucks!
Today I learned the WAC is no more.
Northwestern has to improve on offense. Their defense only gave up 10 points. The offense needs to make sure they win that game. Too many unfundamental mistakes with penalties, missed tackles and turnovers.
I think Stanford won that game by default. Everything you said, right on. NW couldn’t look more ineffectual on offense. I think they were trying to bore Stanford. If that is a strategy.
"we ain't come to play school"
I'll give Illinois credit...they certainly do have a lot of players that left prominent programs.
To err is human. Really sucking requires having yellow stripes on your helmet.
I figured the Illini would be the most likely to lose. They seem to be much improved.
Purdue. ... *facepalm
B10 looked really good. I thought Huskers were still a year away.
F--K James Franklin, what a tool running up the score on an FCS team.
SEC isnt deep, a 2 team conf.
Who cares? If Franklin wants to run up the score and get his team practice, then I don't see what the big deal is. Idaho was getting paid over a million anyway.
Are you excluding Bama or Georgia here? I would not be shocked at all to see LSU in the natty.
I hate the SEC as much as the next guy but i also am realistic and this statement is not that......yeah its not good top to bottom but bama, Georgia, LSU looked good, Auburn beat a good Oregon team even though Oregon is probably the better team, its probably a 4 team conference
^ best post ever ^
I may be in the minority on this, but I think Maryland puts Syracuse to the torch next week. I also think we'll find ourselves trailing at the half to Cincinnati, but regroup and end up winning by two scores.
It would be nice to see Maryland actually show for the BIG if they handle Cuse... If the Illini can go from terrible to avg that will be a big step for them.... Still hard to believe that we lost to Purdue last year ... that has got to be the biggest WTF was that of the UFM era... NEB got off to a bad start last year and they don't have the talent to be a top team in the BIG but they may still be lucky/good enough give other BIG teams fits and losses.... For PSU beating an FCS team like that is what they call elite football... Wisky being Wisky it seems , usually a tough out and the one of the best teams in the West every year..
Penn State had a lot of talent out there--looked pretty good.
If Jackson provides consistent good QB play, the Terps are a legitimate ranked team. They have enough speed at skill positions if someone can keep getting them the ball. Besides, Terps did represent the last 2 years OOC against Texas, just not against Temple or UCF.
At least we didn’t have three middle tier schools lose to Georgia St, Memphis, and Wyoming...like damn maybe the SEC shouldn’t always get two auto bids to the playoff since 80% of their conference sucks.
Exactly. And Arkansas only won by a TD against an FCS school at home (Portland State). Florida, even though they’re ranked 8th (LOL) looked like ass against Miami. Alabama is still good, and Auburn is probably pretty good, but most of the SEC appears to be butt this year.
Auburn looks okay, but Oregon also blew that game with Cristobal's actions. I think the tigers will still have a rough season ahead of them with how sloppy they played.
I was watching the FOX gang discussing the B1G and when the mentioned the B1G West, they said it was "wide open" as to who would win it. I've determined "wide open" means that division sucks.
Is anyone still afraid of @Nebby and @NW??
As long as B1G teams don’t lose to the MAC, the champ will get in. Not only did the thrashing by Purdue hurt, but it was a team that also lost to Eastern Michigan! We could drop a close road game as long as the rest of the conference doesn’t crap itself in non-conference.
TTUN 2nd on the power list? I would have them at 4, with Wisky at 2. I don't think Harbaugh's gang looked great. I'm sure they'll be ready around turkey time but week 1 wasn't pretty imho.
