a late score that sends Twitter into a frenzy

Made me scratch my head, until I realized that I am not on twitter and so I cannot claim to understand the Twitterverse.

On a positive note, I have no way to tweet at recruits...

In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...

Twitter is a dark/strange place. Once it gets the hooks in you there is no return.

How about this for reference:

I have twitter, I go in spurts. I'll tweet like hell, then nothing for maybe a year. The politics portion of it frustrates me. Sports though, it's really good for.

Mark Twain once said "Never argue with an idiot.  They will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience."  I think that pretty much sums up Twitter.

What's round on the ends and high in the middle? Tell me if you know!

I'm thinking the defense (including second string) will be out to prove something. Here's to no garbage times scores

I really enjoy these interviews with the oppositions' beat writers. It's nice to hear their perspective on the game and on their program. Regarding his score difference prediction, I say Ohio State covers with ease.

Ditto...both points.

Go Buckeyes.

I agree.   Despite his many, uh, issues, I have a lot of respect for Kiffin.  His team is no joke, but if we don't cover 28, even with a garbage TD thrown in, there will be questions, not to mention hits that Justin Fields will take for 4 quarters.

Queue Joey Bosa whining...."It sucks.  We can never win by enough."   LOL.

Per saturdaytradition.com, Kiffin is unenthused about opening the season against Ohio State.

"These were scheduled before we got here, from the last athletic director. I don’t think it is the best idea, especially following with UCF . . . "

FAU will receive $1.4 million to travel to Columbus to play the Buckeyes on Saturday. But it sounds like Kiffin would’ve gladly accepted less money to play someone in the middle-to-lower tier of the conference.

Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !

$1.4 million and they avoid any possibility of Dorian. Sounds like a win-win

Enjoy these interviews. Always cool to get the perspective on the other team before gameday.

In the big picture I think this is a fantastic opener for the defense because Kiffin can throw plenty of advanced looks at OSU..

However, most of the offseason talk has been about Tuf Borland and the LB play and if this thing goes two tight ends and pass happy from the get go Tuf is going to be on the sideline all day. Going to have to wait until week 2 to see how different our core D is compared to last season..

Go Bucks!

Agreed, 2 TE play action is coming at us ALL day - how White and Werner handle it will either go a LONG way towards my peace of mind or lead me down a dark rabbit hole of concern!

I would rather be on hand with 10 men then elsewhere with 10,000 - Timur Lenk

Lol let's just be honest, we all know a meltdown on twitter and 11W by Buckeye fans is incoming if we don't cover the 28 point spread against FAU.

HS
Posterchild's picture

So we are a multiple score favorite, against a team with a solid RB, with two solid TE's.... Oh boy....

HS
Trebor40's picture

Yes, because even with two TE and a good if not VERY good RB - You must still block our FOUR down linemen! At that point it is man on man with Harrison responsible for the RB, and likely Proctor for the QB, BRING IT!

We scored 77 last year against Oregon State.....a team with quite likely more talented athletes than FAU.   Of course, they scored a million in return, but based on that, we should cover.    And yes, my logic has its holes........

As an FAU grad and someone who worked for the team this game has me pulling both ways. As a life long Buckeye fan, I want to see Day and the new era start off as perfect as possible but with many friends still on the team and in the FAU program, I don’t want another Oklahoma from last year. I am rooting for Ohio State since the Buckeyes have a lot more on the line and have been a fan since I could walk but I hope FAU shows improvement from the ‘18 season and spring ball. Go Bucks and Go Owls

Those of us who are "Buckeyes for Life" but went to MAC schools know exactly how you feel when "our" teams play Ohio State, 13.  Exactly how you feel.

HS

Agree.  Whenever the OU Bobcats play OSU I just hope for a good first half.

I never have to worry about divided loyalties.  The last time the Buckeyes played my alma mater was almost 100 years ago although the CIT Rough Riders from Cleveland did have nine victories against the Buckeyes prior to 1920.

Let's Go Bucks
