We saw Campbell and McClaurin make the climb. Why not Victor? And he needs to, as Garrett Wilson is gonna push him for playing time.
He’s an AJ green type guy
"To The House"
Maybe not quite that talented but he does have a similar build. Hopefully he finally lives up to those comparisons this year. I wouldn't be shocked if like last year, we don't see a true number 1 wideout this year though. I think Fields is going to be spreading the ball around once he gets into his rhythm.
A.J. Green-that’s a vast overstatement and unfair comparison. More like a skinnier Auden Tate-also a Bengals WR.
Like Green, Victor is an ectomorph... but that's where the similarities end, at least as of this moment. Victor has much yet to prove, and his window of opportunity to do that at Ohio State is rapidly closing.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
Green has WAY better hands. Bin struggles with the deep ball.
I think Garrett Wilson is pushing Jaylen Harris for playing time, more accurately. Victor's playing time is pretty much already set in stone.
Hail to that Victor
(ok, I'll see myself out)
Success - it's what you do with what you've got. - Woody Hayes
I’ve been waiting to yell that in The A Big House.
Hopefully this year.
Go Victor! Go Bucks!
He sure has- supposedly around the 200 lb mark now vs the 176-180 as a freshman.
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
But will he throw catch?
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
Victor makes the hard catches. It's the ones that hit his hands he has struggled with. But this is the year he puts it all together, IMO.
We really need him to excel at that 'jump ball' throw when it's goal-to-go. It opens up so many other plays when the D is worried about that one.
KB Ive said the same thing forever now. Victor makes some of the toughest catches then drops the ones where it seems more routine. I’m am expecting big things this year from him tho. If Hartline can get to transform and take that leap. I’m all about it.
The Future is Bright at Ohio State
For those reasons, I feel like it's a concentration issue and not a hands issues.
Making the tough catch may be exactly what’s needed with an inexpensive QB. When you consider inexperienced usually means erratic accuracy and a tendency to not look off defenders and throw into traffic or even up for grabs.
The soldier is my son. The school I gone to didn’t teach much grammar.
...“an inexpensive QB.”...
are you saying our bagmen are cheap?
Send the Earth Reverberating
Good catch, (no pun intended), thought I was writing inexperienced.
Maybe you need more experience as a post-er.
these pic dont really show much of a difference tho lol
Yeah I was struggling with that also
I was hoping for a better picture before I started putting this post together. I saw Victor in a video from a week or so ago and the difference was noticeable. Even still, if you zoom into the above image, look at his arms compared to before.
Lol that’s awesome. Zoom in. I tell my eight year old same thing.. I tell him if I look real hard I can see a mustache and biceps.
BVic just has that body type that I don’t think can add a ton of weight. But if you look at him now, he def has toned up as far as that’s concerned and strength can come with that.
"I've had smarter people around me all my life, but I haven't run into one yet that can outwork me. And if they can't outwork you, then smarts aren't going to do them much good." - Woody Hayes
This picture was taken before Sally Struthers started her campaign to get him fed.
Haha - good one. In this case, though (the last-of-three photos above) we have to zoom in because the cameraman was like 30 yards away from Victor.
No, Victor doesn’t look like David Boston, but he’s made big physical improvements. We’ll see if that translates to big improvements in other areas his game and, hopefully, a big year on the field.
To be fair, David Boston didn’t look like the beast he became until much later in his career. And it wasn’t just from diet and training.
Loved Ramzy's Baby Giraffe moniker for him will it stick like El Guapo did for Hyde?
I don't know, still looks like hooters pigeon wings to me.
The Penn State catch. Do that every time
Saw him at practice last week. He’s definitely thicker. He actually looks a bit taller, too. He’s ready to rock.
Thanks for the assist. I saw the same thing watching one of those recent camp highlight videos, but couldn’t find a good still image on the internet from this fall (Ryan Day is stingy about granting media access). I had already spent 10 minutes creating this Forum post at that point, so went with what I could find.
The skeptical fans in this thread will be pleasantly surprised when they see Victor trot onto the field for the first offensive play in 7 days. Whether Victor can utilize that added strength and size to take a big step as a player, we will have to see . . .
I have always liked Victor...hoping this is the break out year for him...Go Victor...Go Bucks
He may be bigger...but that Miller kid is big.
Although he flashes at times, he really struggles with consistency, confidence, and catching. Hoping for the best here.
I'm ready for one of the young studs to put him on the bench
If only we could use peds and marijuana like the southern teams and get away with it. /s.
Seriously I’m happy if he’s packed on pounds legally. I wonder how many calories he has to eat in a day? Guessing around 5000 or more based on what I’ve read about NFL player diets. I picture him eating 6 eggs for breakfast and steak for lunch and dinner!
OSU players don't use MJ? How many suspensions for breaking team rules have we witnessed over the last five years?
Hah good point - well then by all means Bin should hit the special brownies. It’s keeping most tweens and teenagers at a healthy min of 90kg these days.
There will always be some players that make a jump in ability, some do it earlier (Fr-So season) for others it takes longer, Victor may just be a late bloomer.
I'm stoked to see if he can put it together consistently this year.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Is he going to put forward consistent effort?
