That depth is just mind boggling. So many guys, and there is only 1 football.

While the "or" designation on the depth chart always drives me nuts, I'd like to see a really frequent rotation. Get Wilson in the games early and often and see if he can swim with the sharks. I think Olave developed into a stud last year, no reason to think he doesn't continue that trend.

Need to see consistency from Victor and Mack, and if they've got it in them to be elite they need to show it quickly because the guys behind them aren't going to let them take their time to get there.

Exciting times.

Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.

Agree! The old dogs cannot afford a slow start with all the young pups nipping at their heels!

I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.

Where have I heard that refrain said before; oh yeah, when Mack and Victor were the young pups!  Time sure flies.

"Why are we still trotting McLaurin and Campbell out there? Ugh. Mack and Victor should be starting!"

It's hard to believe those two are seniors already.

Yes, only 1 football, However, defenses need to cover what I consider to be our best WR group in awhile and a running QB.

Olave and Wilson need to be on the field early and often!

If you have two people that agree on everything, that only means one of them is not thinking at all.

Yeah, the seniors will provide the steady play and leadership but these 2 are the potential superstars and the future of the WR group

Very excited to see Hartline develope this young talent and keep the moniker WRU.

These receivers are gonna be lights out! But when they don't put up the numbers from last year cause Haskins is gone and were not going to throw as much are we gonna say they had a down year? I think Hill will have 60-70 catches but no one else will have over 40 even though the rest could get 30-40 each

Victor enters the season with 48 career catches for 767 yards and 12 touchdowns

I didn't realize Victor scored a TD on every 4th catch. That's an impressive ratio.

I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.

He just needs to get his catches-per-targets up.  If he can do that, he'll have a great year.

As long as they're very similar in ability at each position (and it appears they are), I really like a deep rotation - the deeper, the better.  However, things can get a little dicey when the QB has to start making adjustments on the fly because of anything more than minor differences in speed, route-running, etc.

I believe we're going to have an excellent o-line this season - that the coaches will have Fields slinging it with the best of 'em - and that we'll have enough of a running game to give us more balance than we had last year.  So, I'm fairly optimistic about everything I'm hearing/reading about our wide receiver rotation this season.

Although, I must confess I'm particularly intrigued by Wilson's potential -

I think our defense is going to carry us through the first half of the season.  Fields will struggle with decision making, and the we’ll do enough to win.  I think your description sets in the second half of the season.

I sure hope you're right about the defense, Keaggyeg.  That would mean they really do make the nearly complete turnaround from last season we're all hoping to see.

Offensively, I guess I have a little more faith that Coach Day will have Fields more ready from the get-go than he's letting on -

The offense looked good early against FAU which gives me some optimism.  The defense was really encouraging.  We should get a better picture this week against Cincy.

I have been a big Mack fan since his high school day's.....I know he has been injured a lot and I hope he breaks out big time this year because if not by the end of  the season he may find himself sitting a lot.

Without a doubt the position we have recruited the best over the last few years, and into the future with next year's eye-popping WR class. They are loaded for years to come.

Does anyone know how the incoming class next year looks at the receiver position???

HS

Ratings-wise, ridiculously good.

In my opinion, Jameson Williams is Ohio State's most intriguing receiver coming into the season. I believe he's going to force his way into the rotation early this year. Also, I'm anxious to see what Jaylen Harris can do. He's got the body type and speed to be a factor. If Victor continues to be inconsistent, I hope Hartline is willing to give Harris a chance..

Likely the best mix of talent and depth...that I think translates into significant production.

I had to run away high, so I wouldn't come home low...

Pass plays will be fun to watch--the only play I hate is when they line up three receivers wide and toss the ball 30 yards horizontally for no gain or a loss. Some teams play that well-- OSU--not so much! Hopefully that changes this year.

I wonder if Victor needs to be on the field more to be more consistent. Like a RB that needs carries to keep it rolling, does he need to be on the field more to keep his head in it? Hoping for a big year for him. He has tools to be a WR1 if he can get his head in the right place.

Mack I love and I think he got a bad rap as inconsistent because of a few drops at TCU. He was there all year until his injury. He and DH had a connection.

All that depth, I do wonder how many will stay though, especially with the depth coming in this cycle

Great depth and talent in the receiver core for sure.  We had Dwayne throwing for some 4800 yards with 373 completions last year. That dude had an uncanny ability to see the field not to mention his passing talent.  Fields comes in with the experience he has.  As stated in an earlier article Fields never attempted more than eight passes during any game at Georgia in his 23 completions.   Our receivers  need that someone to get the ball to them.  Fields gotta be that guy.  Waiting for that to be answered has me a bit short of breath.
