Jim Harbaugh is a scuzz, and that’s all there is too it. They have identified bacteria that consumes molecules of feces that are more productive to our society than that guy.
Beat FAU, and beat the ever loving shit out of Michigan
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Actually, bacteria that consume feces are pretty darned useful. I suggest you find another low bar for comparison.

Who the heck DVs useful bacteria?
Great response to a great question....thumbs up.
Cow manure fertilizes crops so even the shit is more useful than Harbaugh.

My goodness, great Skully Kevin! Obviously, I would love any coach laying the wood to Harbaugh, but I couldn't be happier that it's Fickell. All of this bad press is not going to work in Hairball's favor. Sure, the ttun faithful say that he's just being honest and doing his job. The recruits around the country, and even locally, probably aren't getting that same vibe.

Lol. He said Deep Throat
I had to pause there. I’m still debating whether or not he did that on purpose.
"He has that look in his eye when it's time to start feeding the beast" UFM on EZE
It absolutely was. Deep Throat is a fairly famous individual.
I would hope people were aware of deep throat, and not the just xxx version.

‘Meyer to coach again’. Just read that wondering how many more times in my life I will read that or hear that.
Agree Bucks. Either he will or maybe he won't. Doesn't matter.
I'm not trying to win a popularity contest. I'm trying to win football games-- Woody Hayes
Either he's alive or he's dead, or the cops got him... or they don't.
I heard Pat Forde talked to a former coworker of mine from 10 years ago who said I, at 71, would come out of retirement and go back to a 6am factory job due to the fact I was an energetic workaholic and that I missed it. It's possible that I miss watching and sports that I want and not missing granddaughters birthdays. Yeah, I don't think so. As for Meyer, I have no idea.
I'm at the age where food has taken the place of sex in my life. In fact, I've just had a mirror put over my kitchen table. - Rodney Dangerfield
Unless that cyst in his head has gone away I don't see Shelley being on board with that at all. But in the end if he does coach elsewhere I will 100% root against him, my loyalty lies with the Buckeyes period....I don't root for coaches at other schools. I went to UC but will be rooting against them when they play OSU, I like and respect Fick, I like the Bearcats to a point, but I LOVE the Buckeyes, period...they are my team...after everything Urban said about OSU, should he choose to coach elsewhere, it will feel like a big slap in the face. Now if he came out and said it was in fact more about how the University treated him during the BS scandal last season I will re-evaluate my position...I do think they sh*t on him and it was not right at all.
"I don't want to be around average, why be around average!" -UFM
Unless the cyst goes away I don't see him being for it either. He was in obvious pain quite often last season, and we all got to see it thanks to the wonderful television directors of every buckeye game.
The part of Forde's statements I take most umbrage with is the notion that USC is still a "Cadillac" coaching destination. I have a feeling the national media will have an even harder time letting go of the idea that USC is a football powerhouse than they do with Notre Dame.
Agreed, they just want to speak it into existence because it's So-Cal....wait, the sports media would never try to drive an agenda would they?
Obviously I do not have any real insight into the Coach Fickell and whn's communications. But one of them has always been a straight shooter, the other not so much. Will be fun to watch this play out more.
Mr McLaurin doing well will not surprise the Buckeye faithful! Don't watch NFL games, may have change this year.
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
Fick obviously wants to win but based on everyone that has ever played with/for him, he has integrity and genuinely cares about the players. JH, on the other hand...
That guy acts like he couldn't tell the truth and still write a letter in support of the kid! Recruits will see right through that...
This article calls him "James Fickell". How do you get that wrong?
If Ryan Day can manage to do with The Buckeyes what you’ve managed to do with the skully, were in for one hell of a ride!
Still not giving a damn for the whole state of Michigan.
I read the Forde article. It was garbage. It was one of those "bash Urban for clicks" articles but really had no substance.
Luke Fickell's comments are awesome. And its damn time someone called out Harbaugh for that shit. And I highly doubt Jimmy understands it or is even capable of understanding, but this is how he loses locker rooms. Ryan Day sent a waiver in support of Blue Smiths immediate eligibility. That tells the kids in the locker room that he actually cares about them and that he's got their back even when they are no longer of use to him. Jim Harbaugh exiling that kid and refusing to support the transfer says the exact opposite. The kids in his locker room now know that he only cares about them commensurate to what they provide him. Which of those two coach types are kids going to play harder for? No wonder half of michigans team sits out their bowl game every year. By the time they're 4 years deep they know better than to put their bodies on the line for that jackass.
"That's the only part I've been asked to talk about by our compliance office." - in Harbaugh's response
They know he can't talk intelligently about this subject, so they threw him a bone and allowed him to speak about one itty-bitty part of this mess he created, hoping he wouldn't make it worse.
Its my understanding that the NCAA very rarely denies a kid when the school he's transferring from signs off on the immediate eligibility waiver. Thus anything other than signing off is in fact hindering. So Harbaugh and michigan can say whatever they want publicly but they didn't sign off officially. That could also be why they want Harbaugh saying as little as possible.
Most of what Force says is garbage! Look whom he writes for... they emphasize garbage! Someone posted that Forde is a very nice family man. That very well may be true. But usually his articles and his takes on Buckeye football are ... garbage!
He's probably just butt hurt because Urban gave his colleague Pete Thamel all kinds of access which allowed him to write really high quality insider type stories while Forde, who has significant seniority over Thamel both at Yahoo and overall, was stuck with his weekly bullet pointed listicles.
Whoa, Fickel is on fire. Never poke a Bear(cat).
…..or a former Buckeye.
If you have two people that agree on everything, that only means one of them is not thinking at all.
Just don’t bring all that fire when you come here, K Fick?
Seriously I know he wants to win as a coach and beating Ohio State would be a huge career builder but he has to feel a little conflicted about that.
On Urban to coach again rumors, sounded like a click-bait article recirculating the same rumors that have been swirling since he stepped down at tOSU.
That said, if his health really was the issue, I can see him staying retired, but I wouldn't be shocked if he coached again. However, unlike the article mentioned, despite USC's wet-dream coaching hire, I think- and again, if his health issue with the arachnoid cyst is true - that he would be better off pulling a Les Miles and taking over a program NOT expected to compete for titles year in and year out, something Mack Brown did as well with the UNC job. Stress and pressure-cooking occupations clearly aren't doing him any favors, not to mention he now has grandkids to watch grow-up. I mean I got to imagine he quit tOSU due to the stress causing flare-ups, and USC won't be any different.
That and he has no connection to USC like he did with tOSU. Also Notre Dame wouldn't be any better, and in fact he turned down the Notre Dame job once because despite their expectations of Natty's, Urban felt he couldn't win titles at Notre Dame, I'm guessing because of academic restrictions, so he took the Florida job instead. I'm not sure that he is willing to deal with the cutthroat nature of not just recruiting but retaining assistants...
Personally that's my biggest fear about him coaching again is that he will poach away Micky Marrotti and Mark Pantoni, potentially even living legend LJ himself in as a DC as opposed to simply a D-Line coach... Well I guess LJ is now "assistant Head coach" at tOSU, but still...
As for Harbaugh, it sounds like he is just upset about Fickell calling him out. Clearly what scUM didn't do DID matter, especially in light of the comments he made about players claiming to be battling depression as a mere excuse. But what do I know? tOSU and Alabama clearly DID something that helped, as one would think writing a letter to the NCAA in support of the transfer clearly matters, or so it seems.
Anyway, excited for the season, bummer that Tathan couldn't win the job, which just goes to show sometimes the grass is greener, sometimes it isn't. It's unfortunate, I wasn't happy that he didn't stay to try and compete for the job, then move on as a graduate transfer if he didn't get it, but it is what it is.

Anyone else not read Hairball's response?
Life is too damn short & muh eyes too frail & worn-out to focus on a font so small that to peruse it even with a microscope would be a failing enterprise.
Nothing that man can say will ever justify using a tool to discover.
Our twisted sisters up north need to shut their collective pie-holes and just play ball or at least a reasonable facsimile of ball...
Neil Armstrong lied to me...
I started to read it but all I was hearing was blah blah blah in that monotonous drone Harbaugh has, so I didn’t get past a third of it.
None of us know if Meyer will return to coaching and if he does he is clearly entitled to do so. But if he ends up at USC there are a lot of questions about how he can justify it. Despite its location and history that place for all sports and the athletic department has become completely toxic. If I am at all concerned about my reputation I stay as far away from that place as possible. It makes Florida look like a monastery. And if he is willing to go cross country for that job, whether it is fair or not, even if he had his wife's and family's full blessing, he will get absolutely roasted by the media and a very large chunk of the fanbase to the point that he may find returning to Ohio impossible. He will be forever labeled by many as a selfish egomaniac in the court of public opinion. So the question will be if he is willing to go through all that and put his family through it.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Watch Chris Carters First Take video on his good friend Urban Meyer coaching again after Meyer announced his retirement. For the reasons you listed, mostly his health, I dont see Meyer ever coaching again. Plus nothing USC can offer that tOSU could never offer.
You don't speak for as large a chunk of the fanbase as you think you do.

No, he’s absolutely right. A lot of the fan base would definitely hate him if he took a job at USC. I’m not in that camp because I’m excited about Day and I don’t think urban was anywhere near “peak Urban” the last couple of years so I was ready for fresh blood. Urban’s greatness resulted in what were probably unrealistic expectations. I don’t have the same expectations for Day, yet.
I’d love to see Fickell fight Harbaugh...it would be a glorious beat down!
Not even a match. Fickell was a 3X unbeaten wrestling state champ. Kids would forfeit against him.
And he was a monster interior DL starting 50 straight games and reportedly played through a torn pec in the rose bowl. That's toughness right there!
No knock on Day, but I would not have been unhappy to see Fick take over for Meyer.
Strive at all times to bend, fold, spindle and mutilate.
I'm not looking for a matchup...I'm looking for a beatdown. As in Luke Fickell mauling Jim Harbaugh like a Grizzly Bear on an unsuspecting deer.
I guess the real question would be if Luke Fickell could crush his head GOT style?
LOL. Jim Harbaugh, are you really paid $7M per year because of your thoughts?
Really hoping he stays there forever. But again, I wanted Hoke and RichRod too as well.
Love seeing the fire from Fick.
As opposed to calls to fire Fick...
Progress is good (and so is Luke Fickell).
I had to run away high, so I wouldn't come home low...
Banning all new drive-thru windows is a bold move Minneapolis. One that I have no issue with at all. But then again I rarely use drive-thru’s so I am likely not the target audience of this ban. I do take on board that folks with small children end up losing out here as I remember the days of having to go through all the steps to unbuckle and hoist the carrier just to stop at the store. Don’t miss that at all.
McLaurin has a real chance to do some things. Seems like half a dozen of the top receivers in the league may well be former Bucks-we already know Can’t Guard Mike, but now Samuel is tearing it up and there are multiple rooks with a shot. Maybe I will watch some NFL after all.

Minnesota is COLD in the winter so I can understand the allure of staying in your warm car.
I hope Tate stays at Miami. It would be good to stay and fight for playing time while being a great teammate and leader. I wish him the best for thos season and his future.
If possible I love Fickell even more now. I can picture him saying that; intense, getting fired up. Meanwhile, Hairball continues to epitomize what it means to be a “*ichigan Man”
*ichigan Man = douchebag

Like UFM, I drive a Cadillac and would never go back to a Kia or Honda at this stage of my life. It would be like buying a car without air conditioning; or buying a black and white, cathode ray tube TV after having a 4K Sony HDTV.

Congrats on the Cadillac
Once you go Cadillac, you never go back.
Being a UC alum, I’m just going to try and enjoy the time we have with Fickell because, like our past coaches, I don’t expect him to stick around if he has a successful third year. As I read the Athletic article I was more and more surprised by how much he put Harbaugh on blast. Also, the comment section of the article is worth a read.

I only read part of the wall of text of Harbaugh's response, but I did read where he said those waivers are decided by the NCAA and not each coach.
Maybe Fick could have used different wording to not give Harbaugh an out? I mean, maybe Harbaugh is 100% correct based on specific terminology. I really don't know, just guessing on it.
It seems he's being childishly being passive aggressive toward that kid. Best case, Harbaugh washed his hands of a kid who left his team and disregarded the kid's entire situation. This best case is still a dickhead move.
Regardless, I would believe the school a kid leaves can do something to help convince the NCAA to let the kid play. I wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA's default position is no, but a letter from the old school/coach saying this transfer is in the best interest of the student athlete for <insert reason here> and the NCAA will likely just rubber stamp it.
Hairball is being technically true but he knows that by not signing off the waiver, UM made it harder for that kid.
And although technically true, this is a classic example of deflection by Harbaugh.
So when Luke is coaching sparty next year and they go for 2 to run the score up against ttun, we will know why.
I like the debate over the transfer stuff. I'm inclined to support an "allow one transfer" rule, in order to create some sanity in the process and relieve it of an subjectivity. On the other hand, I also think there's some insider knowledge in each of these situations that nobody will ever be privy to, and thus, when a coach doesn't actively support a kid's transfer, we can't always know the real reason. Also, the blame is definitely due the NCAA, not a coach.
A cynic might wonder if a coach/program might not want to sign off on a waiver so as not to encourage other kids to transfer (or at least that's what they would be thinking).
Could very well be the thinking. Again, I contend that the NCAA has set the conditions that lead to every conceivable reasoning available, which would entirely be taken away if a kid were allowed a single transfer.
Crazy Jim. And that’s all he’ll ever be.
The more I think about it the more I think Urban will give the NFL a try. It would be a new challenge and he wont have to recruit and would work a normal schedule during the offseason. The NFL also seems to fit Urban's rock-star persona a bit. Dont want to piss off Shelley.
The biggest difference between Ryan Day and Jim Harbaugh is how they treat other people. Day seems to be all about relationship building and genuinely caring about others. Harbaugh burns more bridges than the Romans did when Rome was being pillaged.
As someone paid a full-time salary to be good at being online, I have absolutely no idea how Drue Chrisman is so good at being online.
The Perfect Intern.
(but of course NCAA)
In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...
I don't think Meyer coaches again. He has a physical issue with his brain that isn't going away. He left because he couldn't tell a recruit he was going to be still coaching in 4 years. That hasn't changed. I don't see a top tier program hiring him.
I hope they find a cure for him that will allow him to return to coaching, but that doesn't seem realistic.
If Martell transferred, he could take his redshirt year this year (assuming no waiver) and then still have 2 years of eligibility. If he stays at Miami and transfers after the season, he sits next year and has 1 year left. So if its all about playing time, he should transfer now before school starts.
I believe that Martell redshirted his first year at Ohio State. No more redshirts for him. Transferring again would mean sitting out a year and losing a year of eligibility.
As someone who suddenly got handed thousands of daily readers on the most successful Ohio State site in existence, taking over for a proper legend I spent years admiring – I get it. Ryan Day, we are basically twins.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
Alabama giving out a run-off waiver was interesting. Looked it up...a run-off waiver is given when a team oversigns in a recruiting class and a recruit is told that there is no room for him on the team (scholarship-wise). Basically pushing the player off the team with nowhere to go.
Would be a major dickish move to block a kid's transfer to another team after telling him you don't have a place for him on yours.
OSU doesn't obstruct the transfer and immediate eligibility of a kid who could come back to haunt us on September 7.
Michigan blocks a kid who's likely to never play them. Harbaugh's explanation rings hollow.
a run-off waiver is given when a team oversigns in a recruiting class and a recruit is told that there is no room for him on the team (scholarship-wise)
How is that NOT an NCAA violation?!?
Because it is happening in the SEC???
I am glad to hear chatter coming out about Tate staying! I wish him all the luck in the world and hope he gets the chance to be out on the field. Hopefully this will all help mold him into a bit more mature young man!
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
The Apple hot take reminds me why DRM removal tools are important. I have no problem paying for content but have been burned by companies suddenly no longer carrying an item I paid for and now can no longer download. If they lose the rights to distribute it and pull it from their catalogue you are screwed. I personally prefer buying DVDs and CDs so I have the original media if needed.
I rip everything from CD's to FLAC then store on USB drive attached to my router and it acts as a DLNA server. Then my receivers attach to the DLNA server. I can listen to all my music from multiple points, without using external bandwidth, and it's a lossless.
Somewhat similar setup using a NAS that serves video/audio to AppleTVs and iPads.
I can just see Jimmy stooped over his old Royal Typewriter, his tongue slightly sticking out in concentration as he picks the keys one at a time writing his response to Coach Fick's statements. There is probably a half consumed glass of milk on his desk and he has those stupid ass Woody Hayes copy-cat glasses slid down on the end of his nose.
That somehow makes it possible for me to read that.
