Seems clear this was all lined up to be Brian Snead's gig and then he had his issue and left the program and left us with a hole at the position. Still think it seemed like a giant red flag last year that Snead was gone, they new Weber was leaving and they still didn't get Teague any touches. The fact that neither Teague or DMC appear to be close to locking down RB2 is worrisome. Unless Marcus Crowley or Steele Chambers step up and grab RB2 sure looks like we are heading for a TON of Dobbins and TON of Fields essentially being RB2 like 2014/15 with Zeke and JT. I don't think we'll go QB run crazy like we have in the past but Fields could get many many more direct running plays called to take some snaps and workload off Dobbins...
I don't think you take carries away from your co-starters just to burn a redshirt year, late in last years campaign for a frosh but that's just me I suppose.
Between Master Teague, Steele Chambers and Marcus Crowley - I guarantee that one will separate themselves from the pack and shore up the position. As I wrote in another post, these guys just have too much talent NOT to succeed. It is the reason they were recruited by THE Ohio State University, and not a D3 school.
They were the studs of their HS programs. It's not like they forgot how to play football all of a sudden. Take a breath, we will be fine. I am also 1000% sure we secure a big time RB in the next recruiting cycle.
I look for Teague and McCall to share the spot behind Dobbins. Each have their strengths and their differences creates extra work for opponents defenses in their game preparations.
I don't give a damn for the whole state of Xichigan.
New CEO promoted from within knows the players on their team. Sees a guy who has skill but moved around from department to department. The CEO says we made some mistakes moving you around, Going forward/this year, you can really help us out at RB. In fact, that is the only place you can help us out. We've got other guys as WR, PR, etc. We appreciate all you have done for us and knowing the culture is a plus, I'm going to give you the first shot at RB2. It is yours to lose. Go get'em, tiger.
I always liked the way DMC ran, even between the tackles. Granted, he was usually running against backups, but I think he can win the job. If not, it will because one of the others has proven to be pretty damn good. I'd call that a win-win situation.
I totally agree with your assessment of DMC !!! He is absolutely underrated and under utilized, I do understand his injuries though. However I think DMC is better than JK. He just hasn't had the opportunity to prove himself.
Teague is insanely underrated. Hot take but I think he'll be better than Dobbins come bowl prep. He would've been the 2nd best RB in the country behind Zamir White if it weren't for his injury.
It's a beautiful day in Columbus, Ohio... and TTUN still sucks.
Master Teague will be RB2 this year, and will be RB1 next year. Saying that, I hope the injury isn't anything major. We can not stand for a QB injury and we would be thin with a RB injury. Go Bucks
The title of this article should read the following:
Who will surpass JK Dobbins and be the starter at RB for Ohio State.
In all seriousness, I think JK is fine young lad and he may even end up being a good backup RB in the NFL. I just don't see him holding off the faster and more physical Master Teague the entire year. Not to mention the hidden gem Marcus Crowley is going to be special given the opportunity.

Gotta think they're holding Teague out for precautionary reasons. Him or Crowley HAVE to lock down that RB1 spot. There is no try.

Well, Dobbins has RB1 locked down, I assume you mean RB2?
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
yeah typo

I would like to have seen Teague get more carries in 2018.

Brooksie, you hit the nail on the head! It's like you were reading my mind!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
All they need to do is give Master T some touches and he will lock down the RB2 spot. He weighs 220 lbs and can run and would be a nice physical back.

This strike me as Accountability/Management 101.

Now it is on DMC, no excuses.
I agree.BuxLax. I expect DMC to DJ run. Run diddy diddy diddy diddy dum dum. Likes to score and he likes to have fun........
You never lose to those pricks. Ever. Ever. Urban Frank Meyer
Love that name Steele Chambers! Master Teague is a cool name. You might as well use the youngsters if they backups are not performing up to standards.

RunDMC needs to hold on to the ball like it is a check for $1 million. Cause that is what it will cost him if he slides back in the pack at RB.

Because of what DMC went through I'm hoping for him to get the RB2 job, based on Coach Day's criteria may be better suited for Teague
