“Instead of two of the premier coaches in the game facing off once each fall”
Did I miss something? Did TTUN fire Harbaugh and hire Stoops???
With Day out recruiting crazy Jimmy and Day handling himself better professionally, and once you add the 62 points he piled on the boys up north, you would suspect that Day is "out coaching" crazy Jimmy already. I am seeing no drop off here.
Enjoying daily the 62-39 ttun beatdown.
Day is a smarter and savvier coach.
If I must choose between peace and righteousness, I choose righteousness! -Theodore Roosevelt.
And not socially awkward and unaware.
Harbaugh is absolutely on the spectrum. I've spoken with more than few UM fans, even they find it difficult to disagree.
Hahaha, I was trying to think of how to say that without getting my post removed. “On the spectrum” is just right. I know it’s kinda funny to say bc we hate TUN and Harbaugh and all, but I actually think he might be. That, or he has a serious case of CTE kickin’ in.
Not cool. Calling someone on the spectrum as an insult is just as bad as calling someone retarded. It's not some humourous bad decision like Chlamydia. My son is autistic and being so provides him a bevy of challenges that a neurotypical individual will never have to deal with.
Didn't downvote you, but definitely not cool.
Have you ever seen a fierce animal who you were sure wouldn't bite? Because I haven't.
Totally not meant as an insult, just a statement of observation. We can all agree he struggles with social interaction, add in his preoccupation with khakis, steak and milk, "his" offense, chicken being "a weak bird", etc.
I apologize if that read as an insult, that was not my intention. I wish your son the best of luck in all his future endeavors.. and an upvote for you.
Both of my grandsons are autistic. I see no problem calling it like you see it. Harbaugh definitely is on the spectrum. I am acutely aware of what it looks like and he exhibits most of the common signs. It is not a negative to say someone is on the spectrum ... or retarded for that matter. People just have too much time on their hands and are offended by everything. I guess it is good to have these first world problems. Life is good.
Goodlife, I was making light of not knowing how to state it while believing he may actually have a such an issue, but it was insensitive, especially reading it back. Please accept my apology.
If someone is seriously on the spectrum it isn't an insult, it's an acknowledgment of their behavioral traits. People on the spectrum have quirks and oddities-it's part of who they are. It doesn't mean you don't treat them with basic human courtesy.
It's part of their psychological makeup and who they are-not just a ribbon to stick on the back of a minivan.
Harbaugh isn’t winning in Cbus in 2020 so he HAS to win at home this year. The pressure is definitely on them. The scary thing is Day/Fields can be better than Meyer/Haskins.
What an odd use of space. How can one meaningfully compare such different things?
It's "An apple a Day keeps the doctor away" vs. "Orange you glad I didn't say he's bananas?"
New Day for OSU. Same noon for TTUN.
I know ttun gets more talk here but I look at another coach and fan base that is more out of wack. That is PSU and I live in Pa. and it's hard to deal with here. I wish they would move on to the ACC which they mention over and over after each loss or call against them. I see them like a man that's been single for 40 years and expects his coming and goings to be the same with no changes once he gets married. The Franklin presser will always forever stay in my mind and I have heard former coach's with Franklin and players from other teams he coached say he is a goof too. Harbaugh though I swear is not playing with a full deck and even looks like he is challenged. Not flying home with his team would make me want to transfer like so many have the guy is not right and the school along with the fan base to allow these trips are just as challenged. I wish they gave him a life time contract which I think was out there at one time.
I agree with you on both fronts.
Where does Michigan turn if, or more likely when, Harbaugh isn't there? From the outside, it appears that he is an abrasive personality that is capable of creating toxicity through exposure, meaning that after enough time has passed he becomes unbearable. So, given Michigan's deep rooted culture in The Michigan Man, where do they turn? There isn't anyone left. Who knows, maybe the answer is out there in one of tomorrow's PJ Flecks.

They went away from “Michigan Man”, and opted for unbridled arrogance.
Am I the only one that would LOVE to see Les Miles at TTUN? That would be endless entertainment. He is a "Michigan man".
Does anyone but me wonder how much longer UM fans will put up with such a quirky, kinky head coach?
Up here, Harbaugh is spoken of like a god.
If tOSU beats them again this year, I doubt the shine will remain
I like him, I want to see him remain there as long as possible.... I'm all in for Harbaugh staying at ttun... he is my type of coach for that program...
With a few more years under his belt, he will be their John Cooper. And it will be glorious.
Shitball a premier coach....?????....HAHAHAHAHAHA.....
The auto-generate algorithm could use some tweaking but overall the article felt authentic.
Can cancer be beat in therapy sessions? Just wondering.
Having said that, Day is right in that mental illness is a problem.
I thought I was going to come in here and say Harbaugh is half insane, and Day is very stable.
"Can cancer be beat in therapy sessions? Just wondering. "
Wow. Seems like yourr more Harbaugh than Day.
They aren’t equal. Can you answer the question?
Can cancer be beat in therapy sessions? Just wondering.
Sure. They use techniques called chemotherapy or radiation therapy, but therapy nonetheless.
They also use immune therapy to beat different types of carcinomas as well. Main difference between Day and Harbaugh is class. I feel empathy and sympathy for the Michigan player Hudson suffering through mental illness. Harbaugh said Hudson was faking it to get a transfer. What a piece of trash Harbaugh is towards the young man.
There were comments from their fans recently that Harbaugh leads the way in attention to mental illness and that Day was following in line. Like Day's father had nothing to do with it.
And then don’t forget the lineman who tried to transfer out of Michigan and be eligible to play the same year due to mental issues and Harbaugh and Michigan opted to challenge the transfer essentially forcing him to sit out a year. The optics were really bad if you believe the young man was actually experiencing mental issues.
If Harbaugh doesn’t last it will be very interesting to see is scum is dumb and arrogant and hires another Brady hoke Michigan man. Or a good coach like a Ryan Day
Banks of olentangy
What's the authors point? Harbaugh is weird and Day isn't-hello Captain Obvious. As far as the whole Wal-Mart khakis comment goes-if you are going to be coaching or working outside-why NOT buy your pants at Wal-Mart or Rural King? Sorry if Caitlyn Jenner won't put your shit on instagram..............
I also think it's petty and childish to make fun of Wal-Mart or rural King clothes (love RK - favorite store ever). Speaking of rural King - I have to try to limit myself when in that store. There have been multiple times that I have walked out of there with 1,000$ worth of gear, accessories, ammo, clothes, tools, etc.
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0

OH-IO living in SEC! SEC! Ville
You can trouble me for a warm glass of shut the hell up. Now you will go to sleep, or I will put you to sleep
Day: Charming, compassionate, cool, calm, collected, an offensive guru, and not a single thing about him that makes you recoil or cringe.
Harbaugh: the complete opposite of all that

I’m still trying to figure out how TTUN is a favorite to beat tOSU, and to win the B1G... their D lost a bunch of their top guys (bush, Gary, whinny-bitch) their secondary was getting spun like dreidels by our WRs (whoever #28 is for TTUNs CBs got fricking “louisiana moved” all day)... I guess you could say their Offense has some talent... their WRs are good, and they return some starters on the OLine, but that’s all I see... I don’t see Patterson as an elite QB and they don’t have a run game... someone please tell me how they can be picked to win in November... I see our bucks going up to AA with a huge chip on their shoulder, days first game in the rivalry he will have a lot to prove, hopefully tOSU will be in a position to win the East... I hoping for big things for Days first year, and I believe they have the talent to do it
I have a feeling that the line will swing by late September after everyone gets a good look at this team. tTun will come in as 4 point underdogs by November.
Their schedule is such a cake walk this year compared to ours (What were the schedulers thinking giving us Penn State and TUN back to back?). TUN will likely come in undefeated like last year. Then they will be brimming with overconfidence and ripe for the picking.
I don't necessarily agree with their schedule is a cake walk theory. They play 4 games they could lose before their annual beat down, @ Wisky, @ PSU, home against ND and MSU.
Jimmy is flat crazy though.

I wouldn’t say army is a sure thing either... ended the season ranked, absolutely spanked Houston in their bowl game, and brought Oklahoma to OT
Yeah I completely agree. Everyone seems to be overlooking Army. They'll probably have their best team in the last 25 years, Michigan should absolutely not sleep on them.
Plus, the triple option in football is like the 3 point shot in basketball: it is the great equalizer. Army can make some noise this season
"Because I couldn't go for 3."
Completely agree... and if it’s even that close, it’s gonna be because the game is in AA (which I guess, from what I’ve read in the past) the big house really isn’t that intimidating of a place to play in
TTUN returns 4 starters on the offensive line and all 4 made an All-Big Ten team. Their offense should be much improved over last year. Defense could be another matter entirely, although they are usually fairly decent on defense.
Looks like my secret admirer is back, lol.
You got two UVs from me to their one DV. Not sure what merited a DV there. Gettin chippy around here. Everyone anxious for the season to start.
Thanks Silver Sniper.
I always thought downvoting was for abusive comments but it seems more and more like people are downvoting other posters because they have a difference of opinion. Hopefully this doesn’t become the “norm” on the website. I think it would be better if the downvoter would just state his/her differences in opinion and then agree to disagree.
Yes, I agree 100%. I’ve voiced something similar many times on here.
Harbaugh- Crazy, okay recruiter, bad gameday coach, adds to mental health stigma, wears ball caps indoors, makes animal metaphors but doesn't understand them, thinks you take on the personality of the animals you eat.
Day- Seems stable enough so far, great recruiter, TBD gameday (head) coach, started charity to champion mental health, gentlemanly enough to remove hat indoors, understands metaphors but does not needlessly use them in press conferences, eats chicken because it tastes good and not because he wants to absorb its soul.
Complete this quote:
Harbaugh is like a teacher in the Sumner Time.....”
Or "Rudy, you're like school on a Sunday ..."
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"

Ahhhhh winner winner
Hey, hey, hey!!!!!!!
As a Buckeye fan, I am very glad to have Day as the head coach of The Ohio State University. Class act!
Second that... he displays all the characteristics you would want in someone who is leading a team of young men... someone compared him to being a hybrid of jim tressel and urban Meyer... i feel like ever since he took over, the trajectory of tOSU is only going to sky rocket, and as a fan I’m super excited to see what the RYAN DAY ERA brings the buckeyes
To me, there's no comparison outside of the rivalry.
Day, while very much aware of the tradition laid forth by those before him, seems genuine in respect and poised to making his own mark.
I guess I'll never get what makes Harbaugh tick, but I think he's chasing ghosts...just not sure for how much longer AA puts up with it all.
"The most important statistic, is the number of wins in a season".........Woody Hayes
I think JH made a mistake in what he said regarding Hudson, however the insinuation that because he thinks it's difficult to differentiate who deserves a waiver for immediate eligibility and who does not means he doesn't care about mental health issues seems like quite a leap. This is surprisingly lazy research, or lack thereof on the OPs part because the writers here are usually spot on. John U Bacon weighed in on this subject and noted:
In 2014, U-M's Depression Center created a new position for Will Heininger, a former starting defensive lineman, to serve as the liaison and reach-out coordinator for the Depression Center and the athletic department.
When Heininger spoke before Michigan's 30-some varsity head coaches, a friend who worked for the Depression Center told me at the time that Harbaugh sat in the front row, took diligent notes, and asked the most questions.
I interviewed U-M athletic director Warde Manuel, who told me, "No one ever talks about it, but we currently have 20 former student-athletes on medical scholarship, including mental health. The NCAA doesn’t require it, the Big Ten doesn’t require it, a lot of schools don’t do it. But we think it’s the right thing to do." (cont'd)
In short, anyone who claims Jim Harbaugh, the Michigan football program, Michigan's athletic department, or the University of Michigan does not care about their players' mental health does not have the slightest idea what he's talking about. The exact opposite is the truth."
Strength equipment is expensive & guarantees you nothing. A strong will is free & will give you everything you need.
Sounds like the department thinks one way but a coach lacking self awareness and maturity says something different.
Maybe Harbaugh will see the light but until then he’s off point.
You realize he thinks Hudson should be allowed to transfer and play immediately right? He just doesn't understand why some guys get waivers and others don't. He doesn't want players to feel like they need to get attorneys and have the right reason for transferring. He wants everyone to get one free transfer opportunity penalty free so every guy is on the same even playing field. He supports Hudson transferring penalty free, he just is skeptical of the reason he gave. Lets face it...these guys are transferring because they want more playing time. The rest is just posturing for a waiver and that's the point.
You’re making excuses for a grown man who regularly makes awkward misguided statements and had the gall to say UFM has controversy issues. I ain’t buying it.
I'll just go with what I saw since it speaks louder than words. I watched game after game UM's LB Bush make serious helmet to helmet contact on a player at least once in every game I watched and as many as three times in a few. Coaches watch the film(so they knew it was happening) and even if they weren't concerned for opposing players one would think they would be concerned for their own.
Harbaugh took notes for his own personal self analysis. everything else you listed had nothing to do with Harbaugh.
One big difference between the two is that Harbaugh is facing a lot more pressure to win "The Game" than Day is. Losing to a first year head coach after going 0-4 to Urban Meyer would be the ultimate embarrassment.
