She's a really cute one- Hope you find her-Good Luck. My heart would be broken if something happened to ours. One thought is to Notify shelters in your area in case she shows up.

Good luck Smith...hope you find her.

Did she have a chip?

HS
smith5568's picture

No, kicking ourselves. She doesn't have a predisposition to run away and we have a fenced back yard, so we always thought she'd be fine without one.

HS

Don't be too hard on yourself about the Chip. They're useless 90% of the time anyways.

Thank you. Like I said, it's a long shot, but stranger things have happened.

Any good news to report? One of our 15 rescues is a little 12lb dog named Penny. She is a rare breed mix and I found her trotting along hwy rt  1 on my way home from work. She is a beautiful little thing so we figured somebody had to be sick about losing her. We put adds in the paper and put pictures in vets, post office, and stores as well as the word to those that know many. Nothing. We soon found out that she would chase anything with complete focus. We came close a couple of times losing her even with a fenced back yard. It happens. Keep us updated.

HS

Give us some good news Smith.

HS
smith5568's picture

Still no sign of her. She seems to have just vanished.

HS
allinosu's picture

Damn. Some one will take her to a vet someday and that chip will come through.

HS

Best of luck, I hope you find her safe and sound.

Thanks Smith! I updated the lost Rosie post, it propagates to all the Shares (21 as of now). Most of my friends are from that area, so hopefully you'll find who has her.

Dont know if it might help, but reach out to any local groomers. My wife has helped with our facebook page several times when pups have been lost in Delaware. Hopefully she returns safe and sound.

I dropped her off, you can send the $1000 to a charity of your choice.

Haha, I wish. We met the individuals and provided them with the cash reward. I am happy they brought her back and hope they can find a good use for the reward, even if that is just a shopping spree.

HS
allinosu's picture

I'll bet she was all over you two.

HS
Sanitarian2's picture

They took the $1000?  Most people would probably have not accepted it or at least not all of it. Take me out to a nice steakhouse and buy me a case of Bud Light, never would I take a grand for returning someone's dog. But certainly glad that you got the dog back.

Sani

HS
NorthPoleBuckeye's picture

There is no way I would accept a reward for getting your dog back to you.

HS
Brooksie's picture

I know the most important thing is Rosie is back with her family. If they are okay with paying the reward, it shouldn't bother me.

But it does. As has been mentioned above, no way in hell a TRUE animal lover takes the cash. The only thing that should be important is getting that girl home with Mamma and Pappa. I don't have, nor will I ever have all the details. But something in the details doesn't sit right with me.

I think Smith felt that whatever the reason, Rosie was worth the money they put up as the reward or else they would not have offered it. In today's world, there are those that would have not taken it, and there are those that would. I think Smith is very happy to have her home and that is what is important. I know I would be.

Still very glad this worked out for them and she was returned.

Not suggesting that this is the case here, not at all, but there have been cases where dogs were taken and then "brought back" when an award was offered. In this case the dog accidently got out of the house so it wasn't snatched from a back yard or anything. Somebody just got a lucky windfall and felt that they needed the thousand bucks more than the dog owner. I just would have felt guilty and dirty for taking the cash, it's like taking a grand for finding a child in the street and bringing her or him home.
