Turns out, Brian Hartline is the man, never sucks to have a buckeye through and through get back to Columbus and absolutely kill it in his position.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
I love the comparisons to Ted Ginn, but they can also be to Parris Campbell. If we believe state track and field, Campbell is a little faster than Ginn. And right now my favorite run is Campbell going end around on the pass for 78 yards. It is every bit as enjoyable to watch as seeing Ginn humiliate ND on the reverse.
Ginn's punt return against TTUN in '04 is just as enjoyable, probably more so. Absolutely electric.
I go on youtube every once in a while just to watch his highlight reel. After lots of times watching it there are still times I am amazed at what he did. The combo of him and Smith must have put a ton of pressure on opposing coaches and secondaries to be perfect or pay the price.
ESPN starting the SEC channel to concentrate on the SEC is like Baskin-Robbins starting a new store to concentrate on selling ice cream.
"Also, no big deal, but Ohio State just signed its highest-rated receiver prospect ever ..."
This is true, but only until signing day, when Ohio State signs Flemming.
"The minute we stop expecting greatness, we become Wisconsin."
I just hate that Ginn didn't play here when high def was a thing. His highlights on YouTube almost look finger painted.
been quite a while since there's been a punt/KO return for a six. Would be nice to see. Good luck Mr. Williams. Hope you get the chance to change that

As long as Mitchell Mayes is a real person, some recruiting services are moving in the right direction.
Jameson Williams will be taking many crossing route catches for TDs in his career. Then taking many deep shots for TDs as he is the next OSU burner. It seems like there is always that one guy that can just terrorize defenses. Defenses meet Mr. Jameson Williams.
Ironically, he seems to have already gotten lost in the coverage. Between all the articles about the returning WRs, Wilson and the 2020 class, Williams name is often missing but I’m excited to see what he can do. We’ve had good luck with hurdlers who play football (Ginn, Zeke)

Pumped to watch Williams and his game breaking speed... I’d say he is more of a Paris Campbell-esque type of receiver with the wheels that could possibly take those shovel passes to the house, but also like you said break huge gains with those 7-10 yard crossing routes... should be interesting to see if he can make his way into the WR rotation along with wilson
What is incredible is the fact that on one hand we are watching the tape of an incredible player at his position and in the same paragraph reasonably state

Clemson is now officially part of the SEC as they get the SEC bump effect on their recruit rankings by the world wide leader.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Well there is the ACC Network now, so of course Clemson gets a bump.
I still can't believe that is Olave in that picture up top. It looks like he has gained a quarter of a person in the last 7 months.
Mickey doing his thing. I'd love to see what he weighs in at now. If he didn't lose any speed he might be the most productive receiver we have this year outside of KJ. He has a knack for scoring.
To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.
Not that it matters, but seems to me ESPN has QBs a little too high and D line too low. The fact the RBs dont even appear is absurd.
From a recruiting standpoint it certainly looks like this train is just going to keep on moving. I'm not sure why, but I really haven't been all that excited for football season until yesterday. And I don't know what flipped the switch either but all the sudden I'm ready to go.
Only 38 days MB. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!
m GO BLOW!!!
The 3rd play of Jameson Williams is almost identical to Terry Glenn running away from Notre Dame DBs.
The 2016 draft.... further proof that our coaches royally effed the 2015 season up.
Yep, between the less than 10 carries for Zeke (and JT throwing for 44 yards), and the D playing cover 2 all game long (even though they ran the ball every single play) that was the worst gameplan I have ever seen, and it cost us a Natty.
I will pound and pound you until you quit

"But we weighted an All-SEC selection 3, and in many cases 4, times higher than any other All-Conference selection." /s (maybe)

Ya.....noticed that....wouldn't All-Conference be more appropriate?? No bias there.....but then again I guess I'm just a conspiracy theorist
Obsolescence as a concept is intriguing to begin with. But to compare what has gone and what may go is a tough one. I do like the scholar who predicts the neck tie as likely to disappear.
I would love to know the espn formula for those rankings. It really doesn't matter, but I was reading that article yesterday and was amazed at some of their ideas. No Purdue under qb's even though they had Kyle Orton and Drew Brees. No OSU under rb's. This is what espn does best-create their own narrative.

I thought we had seen the last of mullets and jorts, but in certain parts of the country if one shops at a Walmart, they can still see these fashion faux pas regularly. Some things that really need to go away, never do.

According to Back to the Future, double neck ties are the next thing. Oh, that was supposed to be 4 years ago and didn't happen?

I'm pretty sure it is the all conference stuff getting us our rating. When was the last time the OSU QB wasn't all conference?
Leave it to ESecPN to leave out THE Orlando Pace. morons.
We limited the debate to the BCS and CFP era, including all players who appeared in games from 1998 through last season.
I think Orlando is eliminated based on this criteria. I’m pretty sure Vrabel should be eliminated as well.
Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.
Of course you're correct. Just call me Captain Oblivious.
Ready for a midweek BOOM!
Within a week eSECpn will come out with their new updated position rakings and we will not be in top 10. They love fucking with us.
"Also, if Ohio State is already No. 2 in the WRU rankings, boy do I have some news about the future."
This is spot on. Many ESPN analysists have been assigned to the task of finding moronic reasons to hold back Gee's ranking. Their own system, however, cannot ignore CFB and NFL production. Gee will expose their "experts" as frauds in short order.
But he was .008 slower than the other guy.
blindly trust that the machine knows........... I find it moderately hilarious that this formula ranks Ohio State in the top-10 at producing quarterbacks but not running backs
Factor in recruiting rankings and the 'Machine" doesn't know squat. It got DBs and WRs because a literal blind squirrel could have found those acorns.
No mention of Ryan Shazier in the LB list? C'mon man!
Interesting to see McCall in the WR group pic. Is he now a full time receiver?
Fields of Dreams
Jameson Williams does have that Ted Ginn stride. Looks like slow stride but pulls away from the defenders. And speaking of the defenders, those were some horrible tackling angles.
Ginn was more glide than stride. He ran so fluidly and effortlessly, like a drop of mercury on a hot skillet.
Ginn looked like he was gliding downfield on roller skates while everyone trying to catch him were trudging through wet concrete.
Don't listen to Freddy P. Soft
I was punctual in reading the Skully shortly after it posted, it's just taken me a couple of hours to work around the incessant ESPN outrage.
Better things going on today, boom.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
I came here looking for a Boom but stayed to read about Plex. Somebody please build a Plex server with heaps of Buckeye football content then loop me in. *cheesy smile*

Vrabel was gone in 97, but hey, we'll take it.
Holy Crap Bin Victor is a big boy.... PLEASE BREAK OUT! I would love to see a full season of his spectacular moments not just them sprinkled throughout 13 games
Anyone else notice that Orlando Pace was missing from espn's OLU?!?
Kyle "blood on the field" Kalis... 0-5
Pace left before 1998.
They only looked at 1998 to present. Pace was gone by then.
That is the most ESECPN thing I’ve ever seen. The narrative is always clear. Commit to Clemson or The SEC and watch your stock soar. Or commit to the Big Ten, (anywhere) and expect your stock to immediately decline. Been watching it for years now hahaha
Linnae Harper is going to be a problem for someone to guard.
Looking at the throw to Garrett Wilson makes me wish we still had Baldwin on the roster...
All the positive goings on with OSU football, and folks want to piss and moan about ESPN. It’s not almost laughable, I find it laughable. Dang near close to paranoia; Lol!
36 days and a wake up.
And michigan, that's right......still sucks!
