Harbaugh? Shit happens, bum juice.

Sorry. Still have “LCT” in my head from yesterday.
It’s 6:25 in Chicago, and _ichigan still sucks.
Dear Jimmy Harbaugh, the worst kind of anger is impotent anger.
"The minute we stop expecting greatness, we become Wisconsin."
How many "L"s??? I am prepared for 3. I don't know if that is unrealistically conservative or aggressive, but that is the number I am willing to lose with a new coach and QB and not enter "panic mode".
"Because the rules won't let you go for three." - Woody Hayes
THE Ohio State University
As Ryan Day has said about JK Dobbins, give me six good games—if we can get through the first half of the schedule unscathed, watch out on the back six. From where I sit, the success of this season rides on Justin Fields’ health and the defense being a lot better. Day has got to put his foot on our opponents’ throats and crush them. He’s got to be merciless.

Day has got to put his foot on our opponents’ throats and crush them
I’ve been thinking [and saying] this for awhile now. I believe Day will go for 70+ every chance he gets. It’s his team now and I think this is one way he’s going to show it. Not only that but it’s a way to keep all of the younger players/incoming recruits engaged. They’re only so many footballs to go around, but more points could mean more touches for different players.
A lion sleeps in every man, dissatisfaction moves him, complacency keeps him asleep.
I think he will also run it up every chance he can. And it isn’t poor sportsmanship. I read once, before the internet and live video every where, Coach Hayes said “it’s not our job to stop us”, paraphrasing. I don’t remember all the context. Meyer did take his foot off the gas, we all saw it. Day and Wilson have not.
Not to mention w the changing state of playing D and more and more penalties “protecting” players, teams have to score more points.
That being said, there IS some wisdom to taking your foot off the pedal and running the ball in the 4th quarter to run clock. I don't mind that at all.
What I'd like to see, tho, is in the 3rd quarter, with a big lead, we have 2nd and 3rd stringers coming in and getting some experience. The only starter that should play thru the 3rd quarter is Fields, early in the season especially, as he needs the experience.
“The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it.” – Theodore Roosevelt
To truly appreciate victory or success, lessons must be learned from defeat. A little humility might serve Ohio State football well in the long run.
Too much time spent at the North Heidelberg rather than the classroom. SSD 68-72
You aren’t wrong, but I don’t want to embrace that idea.
Still not giving a damn for the whole state of Michigan.
Harbaugh should have learned something by now if this is the case
I don’t buy that. You think America’s better because we “lost” the war in Vietnam? Editing my own post for being too political.
Eh.....I see your point, but if that comes to pass, remember that post about 6 months from now.
No offense, but I am willing to bet you won't be happy.
i'd be thrilled to be wrong - and unlike 98% of people on here - i'd GLADLY come on here and admit i was wrong. i want the buckeyes to win a NC but i don't see that happening this year. i would LOVE to be wrong.
It is competing for a playoff spot or bust for me. The talent is there and Day has shown that he can coach. I do understand that we have a new QB coming in, but I am slightly more concerned with the OL losing 4 starters. Still have so many weapons though.
I really think the defense steps up and is much improved this year with the exit of Schiano.
I have gone on early to say that Day is the next great coach and I truly believe it. I know that we may need to tender expectations early, but if they get rolling and Fields is the real deal. Watch out.
i don't think we can win the NC this year. right now, i'd be happy if we can avoid the blowout asskicking that seems to have become an annual thing for us.
yea, i said 9-3 months ago. until i see the defense get back to what ohio state is known for and until i see justin fields play well against good competition - i'm definitely expecting a down year. there are just too many question marks.
How ironic for Jim Harbaugh to criticize Meyer for leaving controversy in his wake. Is he ignoring his own problems in SF and the NFL?
Hairball dissing Urban after his retirement is a typical punk move by the little bi*ch and encapsulates everything anyone needs to know about TTUN’s “culture” - run the mouth, collect accolades (August National Championships & September Heismans), beat up on the Little Sisters of the Poor, get curb stomped by your arch rival and anyone else with a pulse, then whine about how the refs screwed you.
Here’s Jimbaugh’s legacy: unfulfilled expectations, alienating people he worked with, excuses, creepy weirdness, no Championships.
Maybe these “Michigan men” will learn to keep their mouths shut until they actually accomplish something!

So much THIS. That's the example you want to set for your team?
This is the culture he has created up there, and this is what gets passed on to his players. It's why they'll always be several steps away from elite under his "leadership".
not to mention his crazy shennanigans at michigan.
I will be tuning in to see what juicy questions are thrown Hairball's way today, or has the media grown tired of making folks uncomfortable at B1G media days? Time will tell.

Here’s the difference though with Ryan Day vs all of those other first year OSU coaches.
1. None of them served as OC the prior two years.
2. None of them served as interim head coach through part of August camp and went 3-0 for the first three weeks , not just running the team, but also having to handle the media questions about his head coach’s decisions.
3. None of them called the plays the prior year that hung 55 embarrassing offensive points on ttun
I think, if the truth ever came out, we would find out Day and Schiano ran the ship last year. Urban seemed very disengaged. Because of that, I believe Day had a year of being an intern and passed with flying colors. I'm thinking one loss at the most and that loss wont be um.
Talking shit to someone who has already left the room is the most michigan thing ever. People forget that Mike Hart only came out with his "little brother" comments AFTER he had played Sparty for the last time. They're a bunch of posers trying to act tough without ever actually having to be tough.
And I've said before, I am optimistic about Ryan Day's first season but I don't know how confident I am. First time coach with a first year quarterback, I don't really know what to expect. But to be honest, I'm kind of enjoying that. For the first time in a long time I don't think the expectations are natty or bust. I know it sounds like a spoiled fan thing to say, but its kinda nice not knowing what to expect. With Urban we knew we were looking at 11-1 and a trip to Indy and a trip to the playoffs. Then when we didn't get a trip to the playoffs it was a major disappointment. Its great to be that great. But it kinda sucks when your expectations are so high that 13-1 with a conference title and a Rose Bowl win is a disappointing season. The unknown this year means that we can just watch and enjoy even if things don't go perfectly. I'm pretty excited about that.
What Harbaugh forgot is Meyer didnt completely leave the room and will be a major player for that last game
13-1 and a close loss to a good opponent is perfectly fine. 13-1 and getting destroyed by Purdue is not.
I love that Harbaugh's Press Conference is now remembered as only about URBAN MEYER!
We haven't even opened camp yet and we already have locker room material for the GAME. Thanks Furball.
I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box but I'm one of the most colorful.
And pretty much jimmy will always be 0-4 against Urban Meyer.
getting housed by iowa and absolutely embarrassed by clemson on a national stage was no picnic either. this kind of thing has to stop. this is ohio state - it never should have happened 3 years in a row.
Oops Double post
Justin Fields developing & staying healthy is the key to the season. If that happens, I don't see us dropping a game in the BIG even with a serviceable (Top 30) defense. With a top 10 defense, watch out! CFP here we come! That's how confident I am in Ryan Day's offense.
What a pussy thing to do, talk shit about someone when they're gone. Typical MYTHigan. No reason to think Day can't lead this team to an undefeated or 1 loss season, the cupboards are overflowing with talent. And that talent is going to curb stomp the Wolverqueens in AA this year. Eat shit TTUN.
I love the moon hoax article. I didn't realize that Kaysing is quite possibly where that started. I am no flat-earther, but the moon? Seems fishy-but most importantly it keeps people talking one way or another.
The "kids" taking the 90's quiz is pretty entertaining I must say. They did ok for their ages, which I suppose is the point. Not sure I would have known which boy band that was to be honest and I had to live through them all.
"They say, "these geeks come a dime a dozen. I'm lookin' for the guy who's supplyin' the dimes." -Classy Freddie Blassie
I'm surprised that the article didn't mention James Bond, and Diamonds are Forever. That came out in 1971, we before Mr. Conspiracynut's book. It has James Bond driving a moon buggy as a getaway vehicles, just another one of the ridiculous situations that Bond always finds himself in. Fishy, really?
My aim, then, is to whip the Weasels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom. - William Tecumseh Sherman (with apologies)
If Justin Fields wasn’t able to say who Eddie George was, he unfortunately would’ve had to be dropped to 4th string and take a redshirt. But luckily he was able to pull through after making us worry. We’ll just say he was distracted, hence the pause.
Losses happen. Just be able to react well, in game and after. Don’t get blown out by 30, and be willing to make the necessary changes and turn the page for the next week. E+R=O.
Doesn’t Harbaugh have some boogers to eat somewhere? I don’t know what’s worse, the dumb shit he says or that people still quote and report on him
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t a just a little bit worried about The Fighting Kiffins coming to town for the opener. I don’t know anything about their defense but I know that I’ve loved watching their offenses over the past couple of years and it’ll be a good measuring stick for this season’s defense.
OK, name one offensive star on the Owls. They are the Owls, not the Falcons, right?
OWLS, yes - RB BJ Emmons - former 5* Bama commit.
A good opening test for our new D, but I don't think they have the talent or depth to stay close for too long.
He avge'd 4.9 yrds/carry last year at Bama.
Kiffin ran the offense at Alabama in 2014 with a lot more talent than he has now. We kicked his *** then and we will kick his *** in the opener in Columbus.
Link locker: Reddit divorce attorney stories are HILARIOUS
When I opened the link, the very first comment is by a Redditor using the screenname "Elle Woods". A+ username/job/thread combination.
The entire thread is great though, definitely worth the time to read through.
Funny as hell, but a sad reminder that people suck, lol!
Absolutely hilarious and yet sad at the same time
I get a feeling that pic of a nervous looking Day drinking water will be trotted out repeatedly whenever there is a bump in the road or an opponent wants to say they're making us nervous.
Wahoo! Wahoo! Rip, Zip, Bazoo! I Yell. I Yell. For O.S.U.
He does not look nervous to me. Looks engaged. And thirsty.
As if Ohio State needs any more motivation for The Game, Harbaugh runs his mouth. These words will resurface in November on Buckeye bulletin boards.
that's what i was thinking - why would harbaugh give his biggest rival extra motivation?
Because he's a middle schooler in a man's body?
I'm going to bust on another coach today, it's Friday.
I'm not a handsome guy, and I don't mean to bust (anymore) on Kiffin, but that pic of him above makes it seem like he was the leader of Our Gang at one point in time...
Ryan Day and KJ Hill keeping it real.
Happy Friday, 11W...go Buckeyes.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Maybe they used the FaceApp for his pic??
You never know.
...but the Russians do.
It's one thing to know Fields was coming, but to also be declared eligible? Don't know that I would bet my future on a NCAA decision.
I'll use JT Barrett's first year, as a starter, as a measuring stick. If Fields/Hoak can perform to those standards, that'll be good.
If Fields has a 3000/1000 season with 40+ TDs, we're gonna be in the playoffs and he might get an invite to NY
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
you have a LOT of confidence in the bucks unproven defense.
Was just watching Get Up! on ESPN and the young kid on the far left had the audacity to suggest the reason Harbaugh said what he said about Urban was to possibly win over recruits and show parents that maybe they don't want to go to OSU. Yeah ok.
All the pressure is on Harbaugh and TTUN. For once, it doesn't seem the pressure is on us at all. Maybe we will play loose and have fun this season? One can hope.
"I find your lack of kalua disturbing" - Darth Lebowski
"Maybe he can coach the Destroyers"
No! Matt Sauk is a legend, give him time!
I really like where our program is right now, overall.
An absolute coaching legend left our program in excellent shape for a very impressive young offensive genius to take it over. The offense may look a little different from last year, but I think it's going to be very explosive.
We've progressed from a problem to a tremendous asset at WR coach in one short year.
It wouldn't take much for our defense to improve from last season's mess, but given the new staff and the raw talent our players possess, I think they'll do more than just that.
A fine kicker and a fine punter.
And - oh, by the way, our rivals are being coached by a fool.
Its a good time to be a Buckeye -
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement. - Will Rogers
Kiffin must really like the food in Florida....
It looks like he's soaking up that Florida humidity in his face.
Joey Freshwater needs to spend more time in the gym instead of the clubs.
Happy Friday all.
I sort of expected 2 losses, but whatever else happens, don't lose to those people

*taps on microphone - F@#$ Booger Jim!
I hope Day and the Buckeyes walk into that cesspool and drops 80 on TTUN and crushes their souls yet again! It has become a great tradition in November to taste their tears of despair!
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
A.) What did the Destroyers do that you would wish such evil upon them?
B.) Kiffin looks like Great-Value Brand Chris Farley in that pic
I remember seeing Tyvis Powell do those trivia games. He was the THE BEST. He didn't get them all correct, but he was the most entertaining person by far. He needs to host a show at some point!
Family Feud comes to mind
"... or pull in the highest-rated quarterback prospect in program history ..."
Fields is not the highest rated QB in OSU history. That would be Terrelle Pryor, who was rated one spot higher coming out of high school.
OSU 2019 defense - The Twelfth Man
Well. They were both the No. 2 overall player in the class, but you are correct if you mean that Terrelle Pryor was the highest-rated quarterback in his class and Justin Fields was the second in his class.
But in terms of composite rating (which is better for comparisons across all classes), Fields was a 0.9998 and Pryor was a 0.9997. It's splitting the smallest of hairs, but technically Fields is higher rated.
