Dobbins whole season just needs to be about proving he can be the RB1 and can handle the rock 20-25 games if called upon. That said, it’s up to the coaching staff to maximize those shots so he doesn’t necessarily have to tote the rock that many times. It will be a very fine line to make him a premier part of the offense but not over use him. BALANCE
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.

Try the rooftop bar at the Bobby Hotel on 4th Ave North, and then go next door for lunch or dinner at the Stateside Kitchen (restaurant at the Dream hotel).
These are Nashville gems that most visitors never see because they are so concerned with going to Broadway bars named after country stars who have absolutely nothing to do with their namesake establishments. Good live music but no connection to Kid Rock, Luke Bryan or Jason Aldean.
Also, go spend some time in the Gulch area on 12th. Biscuit Love for breakfast, Thompson Hotel rooftop, and Whiskey Kitchen are great places. Check out Two Hippies for cool threads you can’t find in malls.
And if you want some pizza hit Two Boots. Man I miss Nashville.
Excellent recommendations BIN. I couldn't agree more.
Two Boots huh ? I haven’t had it yet ! Thanks
I regret I have only one upvote to give.

The tow truck story is insane, period. I cannot believe that any large metropolitan area like Pittsburgh would essentially be a frontier-less Wild West for tow trucks. Bizarre to me.
I won't pretend to watch the Big3, but I guess I need to read about what those four guys did to get booted. I always liked Odom and Baron in particular during their college days.
If I had Twitter I would follow to see Kevin's exploits, but I do not so I will simply wish him well on holiday.

Guess I'm not the only one who couldn't sleep til the 6 am alarm. I am a Dobbins fan and I really want to see him shine this season. Hoping that the run threat that Fields is will allow Dobbins to get more opportunities to break holes all over other defenses. So ready for football to start!
I’m on my from the StL to the great state of Ohio. I can’t wait to see family. I’ll be toting several boxes of Ballriechs chips back with me.
Me too Dillon! Can’t wait to be back in Ohio again!
Is your family in Tiffin? It was so great to hear that Ballreich's changed their formula back to the original because when they changed the chips went to crap.
Rendezvous With Destiny
I've lived in Tiffin all my life and know the Ballreichs situation well....my niece works in the office there. The In-law family that had taken over were running the place into the ground and a couple months ago a local group of investors bought them out and booted them out. They immediately changed the chips back to the original formula and the rest is/will be history. They are back to being the best chips in the world.
I’ve taken them 7500 miles away, always the same result. The best chips they have ever had. It’s the perfect amount of saltiness, grease, flavor.
Many are not there any more. Like...thousands of English, German, Dutch, they landed in PA, and migrated to the right state after statehood, in heavier amounts in the mid 1800’s.
Family get together at Hedges Boyer park.
good mean kick ass Slobs = Dobbins, Fields excelling....
I expect Dobbins to put up the same numbers with Fields as he did with JT.
With Fields able to run the read option, even if it’s only occasionally, defenses will have to respect him as a threat, which should benefit Dobbins tremendously.

Versatility can absolutely be a killer, but I have to say I’m more than excited to see our QB [actually] under C this season.

You mean it won’t be TE?
So if Bo coaches the Buckeyes, which Ohioan do they poach to coach instead?

Would not put last years numbers on Dobbins (or Webber). O line could not run block for shit and defenses loaded the box to force Haskins to beat them with his arm. With Fields running ability and (hopefully) a better run blocking oline, i think his numbers will improve quite a bit and wouldnt be surprised seeing his name mentioned for Heisman consideration.
O line could not run block for shit and defenses loaded the box to force Haskins to beat them with his arm.
I don't think it was the O-Line's fault, really. They were consistently outnumbered at the point of attack. 6 blockers cannot take on 8 defenders (5 OL + 1 TE vs. 4 DL, 3 LBs and 1 S). We sometimes had 2 TE's but that's still 7 vs. 8 if the QB doesn't run. It's 8-8 if the QB throws.
So, it's logical that defenses cheated a safety and dared Haskins to throw. Unfortunately, Haskins tore that apart. Haskins even mentioned that he loved seeing 1 deep safety. Yet, somehow, defenses didn't get the message and kept loading the box.
Now that we've established that we can definitely throw and Fields can run, we should see more 2-3 deep safeties, giving us 7-7, 8-7 or even 8-6 at times.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"

Instead, he had a somewhat disappointing year sharing the workload with Mike Weber in Ryan Day’s offense.
When a team's offensive line cannot run block for a large chunk of the season, I would expect production from the running backs to be disappointing.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
I agree with you but I also wonder if he was dinged up. Even when he had running lanes he seemed to have lost some lateral explosion. I just didn't see the same jump cut and burst.
Dobbins touched on this in an article a few months ago. He felt like, since he was splitting carries with Weber, he had to break off big plays every time he touched the ball instead of taking what the defense was giving him. He was trying to impress the coaches with his numbers to justify getting his carries each game. Guess you could say that it messed with his mojo.
Yeah, while the oline did have its problems, Weber managed to average a full yard better per carry and overall looked good running the ball.
As Kevin said, not sure exactly what caused Dobbins drop in production, but it was likely a combination of factors, including trying too hard to hit homeruns.

He also said at the time that he felt like he had arrived and maybe didn't go as hard as did as a frosh. He's going to be a monster this season.
I guess it's early, but ... I read the "BIG3 Announces Player and Staff Changes" bit several times, and I don't see any "shoutout" to Greg Oden. What am I missing there?
Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
I was also confused. I’m not sure if he is celebrating that Greg didn’t get kicked out?

It goes on to commend several players for intense play and competitive spirit and Oden is one of them.
I am a firm believer in the "sophomore jinx",. However, it is less than a jinx and more of a behavioral reality. Other teams see film, learn tendencies, player becomes complacent, etc. I am looking for a huge year from Dobbins because of attitude (not splitting time), maturity (because that happens in college....usually), physical growth, etc. Plus it will take some of the heat off Fields, if the Buckeyes use the Read Option Run as a change up.
I actually think it's the other way around. Fields will take some heat from Dobbins because he's a real running threat.
Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular.
Kevin, you picked the right foolhardy with riding a mechanical bull. Why not go all the way and play Taser ball.
After reading about Woody at TTUN, someone had better watch being haunted. Woody is turning over in his grave.
1) Having a dual-threat QB will definitely help. Look at how OSU's rushing attack improved late in the season, once Haskins showed he could actually keep the ball, even if it was just a few times.
2) JK seems to be a workhorse, and gets better after 15+ carries. On the season, he averaged 4.6 YPC. However, in 3 games he got over 20 carries, he averaged 5.2 YPC.
I'll be interested to see if we actually go under center this year. Personally, I'm not a huge fan, but I'm not even going o pretend I understand all of the X's and O's, as to how that would affect the running game. I know Zeke said it was easier to run out of the gun, because you don't have to be patient, as you can see the holes opening while you make your way to the line, versus, getting the ball at near full speed close to the line.
Elliott dots the eye, on this national championship win.
Woody couldn't even speak the name of that school, so how on earth could he possibly have ever coached there?

Why don't they just create an alternate universe discussion where the allied forces failed and Germany is ruling the world, because that's almost as disgusting as Woody being The Man at *ichigan. Un-freaking-fathomable.
Not to sound like a Trekkie or a science wonk (which I ain't; just a lay person), but Woody as a Michigan Man may already exist in a multiverse somewhere else out there.
As some have already noted I too think Dobbins has a much more productive season if not only because of Field's ability to run the ball. Not one single defense (well maybe TTUN's) was afraid of Haskins carrying the ball last season.
“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.”
So imagine the timeline going like this:
Paul Brown comes back to Columbus after WW2. Coaches OSU until the mid 1950s.
Woody goes to Northwestern and leads them to a national championship
OSU hires Bo
The 10-year war happens but it's OSU-NW
The 1968 national title never happens with the Super Sophomores because that group mostly go to NW
TTUN's 1969 upset of OSU never happens because TTUN isn't as good
The Punch never happens so Bo coaches OSU until 1992 which means we never hire Earle
Woody coaches at NW until the mid-1980s when he passes away
Bo recruits Jim Harbaugh to OSU
We never hire John Cooper. Instead OSU hires Gary Moeller to replace Bo.
Moeller loses the OSU job the same way he lost the TTUN job
We hire Lloyd Carr instead of the Senator.
Charles Woodson comes to OSU, wins Heisman
Eddie George plays LB at Penn State
No national title in 2002. Mo Clarett goes to Miami and helps them win 3 straight national titles
We actually hire Rich Rodriguez when Carr retires
Rodriguez gets us into even hotter water with the NCAA, major scholly reductions and bowl bans
Urban never comes to Columbus and coaches ND to 3 titles
We hire Jim Harbaugh
Yeah, I like the real timeline much better.
