Must be a great gig if he turned down the USC job for it!

Just keep Shelley off of the podcast, please.

Serious question... Why would you want her on it?

I guess I am a little old school.  I don't mind wives on the field after bowl games, maybe, but  I just got tired of seeing here on the field after ALL games, commercials, tv, Carmen Ohio, etc.  She was not part of the team.  Stay in the stands.

Shelley hosts the players' moms, and has players over to the Meyer house to eat and hang out. She's also on staff at OSU. I think she belongs wherever she wants. Plus I think it's been important to Urban to have his family close to him after games.

She is not the first coaches' wife to entertain players and their families.  And also not the only OSU staff member.  How many wives are on the field after EVERY game.  Evidently Meyer wanted her there or she would not have been, can't argue that point.  But I did not have to like it and didn't.  What does my opinion matter anyway?  So it goes.

I would absolutely listen to a weekly CFB podcast where Urban breaks down some of the biggest games from the past weekend, discusses players he likes, coaching strategies, etc.  I would LOVE that podcast. I would listen to every episode.

This podcast sounds....bad.

Agreed. I had a feeling Urban would start a podcast but this one in particular doesn't sound super exciting.

Bad for you guys, I love hearing about leadership and decision making.

If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special.

Suggest you read his book, Above The Line.
It will change your mind.

No thanks.  Have fun, though.

And I will be a regular listener, not just because I am an OSU fan; but because I want to listen to a proven leader.

Thank you Urban Meyer and Gene Smith

I just read "Above the Line" by Urban. At first glance E + R = O seems really simplistic on the face of it, but it's much more systematic and detailed than the equation suggests. I look forward to the podcast.

Surely I'm not the only one that googled to see where this Podcast is based? I was relieved to see they are in Dublin, Ohio.

I like this development. The more things for Urban to do in and around Ohio, the last chance he has the itch to coach again. I really like him close to the OSU campus in his role as asst. athletic director and his continued efforts w/ Real Life Wednesdays.

I think the only way he coaches again is (1) his health issues somehow improve or are not impacted by stress AND (2) there is an opportunity at Ohio State in the future for him to jump back in (for example if in a few years Day wants to leap to the NFL and we need Urban to hold a class of recruits in place.)
