There it is!!
If OSU all four of these WR recruits sign their LOI, I'll be very impressed. I sure hope they all do. Hartline is killin'it! :)

Hooked'em to Columbus. Nice. Sorry, Tom.
Tom didn't appreciate that, ChicagoBuckeye... he didn't appreciate that at all.

That GIF of Tom is from when Zach Smith ditched him at the strip club for a lap dance.

What QB wouldn't want to come to OSU and throw to this group of receivers. Wow!
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
Not to mention the offensive linemen we are stockpiling in the 2018-2021 classes. One big piece left at running back

I don't think that will Bi(jan) a problem for too much longer.

While Cooper could make the transition fairly easily, he might need to take a redshirt year to bulk up his body. He already has some size but will certainly need to add more with his responsibilities being in the middle fo the field.
At 5'8" and 193 pounds he could play the slot. Appears dynamic at that size and weight, will be making tacklers miss and running away from them afterward. Looks physically ready to me. If the room is too packed then I could see a redshirt though.
A lot of talent in this WR group for sure.
Now to properly utilize all of it will be fun to watch.
In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...
Bulk up? If hes almost 200 at 5'8 hes good.
Yeah, I didn't understand how he is underweight at 5'8" and 195 either.
Agreed, weight looks good for his height. Could play H back, punt returns, kick returns, etc. Possibilities.

He may grow an inch or more in the next year or so. Hopefully without losing his elusiveness.

Rondale Moore, who Mookie very much reminds me of, is listed as 5’9 175. I think young Mr. Cooper will be just fine.
From articles for commits 16-19:
16 (Royer) - “He will likely need to redshirt to further prepare his body for Big Ten competition but has many of the intangibles needed for the position.”
17 (Melton) - “Melton is a recruit that won't make an immediate impact but has less development to make than a typical three-star recruit.”
18 (Martinez) - “while he will likely need a redshirt year to determine where he will play and to build his body into Big Ten shape”
19 (Fryar) - “He is one of four offensive line commits that are rated outside of the top-300 and will likely need to redshirt a year.”
HUGE COMMIT!!! Dude is electric!!

Hartline can really uhhh recruit...
Maybe I’m missing something, I don’t see Hartline anywhere in this photo.

Hartline you can start recruiting other positions now too! He could be a big help getting a RB or another 5 star DB.
WR ranks: 5, 64, 66, 89
OL ranks: 8, 61, 384, 414, 792, 1082 (!)
What does it say that stud WRs glow about Hartline as a coach and Studrawa is getting the guys he is?
I noticed that too, however OL is historically the hardest position to project. If they are coached well, 3-stars can go just fine.
Fair enough. But let's be honest, many of the OL they took were not "Plan A" guys, which speaks to recruiting and Coach Stud in particular.
I'm thrilled we got NPF and Johnson Jr, but those were more about the HCs than Stud from what I've read.
Comment removed for violating the site's commenting policy.
OR...stick with me here...maybe you got those downvotes because you're complaining about what's shaping up to be another fantastic class that stacks up just fine to the precedent Urban set. You can expect better. I'm just not sure how it got into your head that Ohio State should be doing better than they are, which is, again, pretty damn good.
Also, I only downvote trolls and comments that violate the policy. So, none of those came from me. I would never downvote awful takes or opinions that I believe to be assinine. Every dubber has the right to state their opinion, within reason.
"Anything easy ain't worth a damn"
I can agree with you there, 100 percent. If the high number of three stars became the norm, along with lower level four stars being at the top of the class, that would absolutely be alarming. I feel strongly that won't be the case, but it's not impossible.
As for the downvotes, I completely agree with you there as well. There are plenty on here who believe the downvote is for opinions they don't agree with. That's very unfortunate.
Since the upvote is usually used for opinions you do agree with, most people would fairly assume the downvote is used for the opposite. I just think it’s funny how worked up people get about the votes their comments get
I agree to a small extent, but a few things I would say to counter. First, I don't think it's fair to knock him for the lower rated guys, then refuse to give him credit for studs that they got. When it comes to blue chip studs, I'm sure several people played a part, but I think it's a bit naïve to think the OL coach didn't have something to do with pulling in a big time OL. Second, as far as the lower rated guys not being "plan A guys." While I'm sure they weren't plan A necessarily, they were guys that were taken pretty early in the process. January and March specifically. I have to think these were guys they liked, or they wouldn't have taken them so early. Again, I'm not implying they were top targets, but usually a school like OSU doesn't get desperate over a year before NSD. I also think it's a bit silly to complain about OL recruiting at this moment, what with so many studs like Miller, Vimahi, NPF, Wypler and Paris(and Myers/Munford/Wyatt Davis going back a little further) the last few cycles, and Christman already in the fold for next year. Oh and lastly, using what will go down as one of the great WR classes ever, and almost certainly the greatest ever for OSU, is a bit of an unfair measuring stick. Any position group is likely to pale in comparison.
For the record, I didn't downvote you, and I don't think your points were so unfair, I just disagree on a few things is all
I sad this before and will say it again. PERSPECTIVE.
We landed the #1 OT and the #1 OC. Add the 22nd OG, who happens to be a 3-star (He's #64 for all OL). And the #32 OT (he's #53 for all OL) and that would be our top 4 linemen. But it's a deep year. So we took two more. #69 OT and #93 OT. Are they projects? Sure. Do the coaches see something in them they like? Absolutely. Maybe James being from Cincinnati Elder might even had a bit of influence on that decision. But to dog the O-line recruiting because a couple of guys are ranked #130 and #178 overall (for linemen) is a bit of a stretch. There are only 48- 4-star linemen in this cycle. Toutant and Fryer are #53 and #64 respectively. Just outside the 4-star rankings. And anyone who follow recruiting knows that lineman are the hardest to project and are the latest to develop. Some kids are held back in rankings because of the offense their school plays.
But PERSPECTIVE. You will sleep much better.
We have Wypler, Paris, and TONS of depth, two of which are for sure 4 stars by Thanksgiving. We have put a fair share of 3 stars in the NFL, you know that. Midwest linemen are notorious late bloomers.
Mom not DVing you, but when ever did a 5 star, 1-3 4 stars, and some 3 stars equal a bad line class?
I think after listening to Barton talk about the opening Fryar will get a bump. Also James plays in a really good league so I expect him to be ok. Toutant is a good athlete so he has more than a punchers chance. Leroux seems to be regressing. Complain all you want.
It doesn't really seem that bad. I was only concerned when I saw one of the three stars looked like my college roommate who had never been within 1000 ft of a weight room his entire life.
Wypler and Johnson are every bit the OL prospects-according to the starhanderouters no less, that Fleming and Scott are as WRs. Ben Christman is as good of an Ol prospect as any 21' WR Hartline has a commit from. Some people need to stop being little bitches regarding their attitudes toward Coach Stud-grow up-you are an adult.
I don't know why I love that so much.
I can understand the frustration some have with Coach Stud. The OL underperformed in the run game last year (two-thumbs up for pass pro) and this year's OL haul definitely has some developmental guys on it (which I'm fine with--especially the Ohio boys). But, the fact Day has worked in lock step with him for the past few years and elected to keep him on staff is the biggest indicator to me that he's performing to Day's satisfaction. That's more than enough for me to keep my fan support behind him.
"You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least, you need a beer." - Frank Zappa
Those are my thoughts.. after how Day gutted the defensive staff and other key assistant positions, if he had any issue with Stud I think he'd be gone. Unless he thought he couldn't get a replacement, which seems very unlikely.
The OL is a strange position to judge and project out of high school. A lot of these kids are just big for the sake of being big, and haven't been finely tuned into athletes yet, and thus they have very high upside. Some are athletic but "undersized" for the o line, but they will likely grow a bit more over the next couple years.
Personally in regards to stud, I kinda had a feeling that Day may have kept Stud around this year just to make sure that Paris Johnson didn't go anywhere. I do believe he will have a chance to prove that he deserves to stay, but the knock on stud isn't necessarily the low ranking of his players. It's that he seems unwilling or unable to go after players from all parts of the country. I don't know why that is, but just look at the geographic locations of the o line recruits. The majority are very close regionally. Could explain the low ranking of some of his recruits.
With that being said, Petit-Frere, Paris Johnson, Like Wypler, and Ben Christmas are ALL blue Chip guys that any program would love to have, and I'm hoping the "project" guys he's recruited end up being diamonds in the rough. If not, stud won't be here much longer I don't think.
"No we don't give a da*n 'Bout the whole state of *ichigan"
I'm fine with getting as many Ohio guys as possible on the team if they can play. I'm only concerned because a lot of those those I-play-oline-because-ive-always-been-huge offensive linemen were really where the whole "slowhio" and "SEC speed" issues came into play before Meyer arrived.
Stud has multiple Remington award winners under his belt and 2 guys that rank #1 at their position coming in. I Don't understand the hate.

This Ohio State WR class is insane! I can't think of a better receiver class ever. The coaches are doing some serious work. Welcome aboard Mookie! Go Bucks!
Indeed, I just hope they all stick around.
This WR class is beyond words. Congrats Mook and welcome to the family.
Future stud Hback; slot WR; APB; return man. Wow!! Huge pickup!
Thank you Urban Meyer and Gene Smith
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
I like it. Welcome to the Buckeye family Mookie! It's always good to have a Mookie on your team!
Add those four guys to Olave, Wilson and Williams...lord have mercy
Add Jack Miller to those 7...…….Oh My God (in his best Jay Bilas voice)

TG Proud Buckeye alumnus.
It’s a home run! Let’s party, Mookie!
Last year showed what a deep WR room can do on the field. Especially one well coached. Welcome home kid!
Men at Work!!
Barf, you forgot to put Hartline's head on the player with the #9 jersey.
Ha! You had me for a second +1
Well my day is ruined. I cant see Barfs GIF. UV anyway because I know its great coming from Barf.
Veni, Vidi, Vici. I came, I saw, I conquered.
The Buckeye Way
BOOM! As talented as the WR room is, Mookie Cooper brings an entirely different skill set to the table. Mookie is a great addition and yet another example of the terrific work in recruitment by the staff and Coach Hartline. Go Bucks!
5'8", 193#, and he needs to bulk up? Assuming there aren't typos anywhere in there, it sounds more like we've found our RB.

Welcome home young man. You're where you belong. Please help us to be our best. So much work to be done.

BOOM!!!This is awesome Hartline needs a raise.
Love it -- Mooks got the jukes!!! Love his film -- he is a feisty bad-a** -- need some of those guys on the team for sure...
Didn't he say something about making a video over the weekend?

BOOM, BABY BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cooper's recruitment came down to Illinois and Ohio State.
Man if that's a battle we ever lose then things are going very poorly.
Man, he dogged Illinois...I actually thought he'd picked them at first (even though I already knew before I clicked play that he hadn't).

Nah. Lovie just signed a pretty good class last year and as he pointed out, some of his teammates have already committed there. It’s not as easy to recruit there but I think they had a pretty good shot for what they’re worth.
Boomtastic!!! Best WR class ever!!!
Like the ball in the stands, we balls out
Birthday boom for me! By default, he's my favorite recruit!
Happy birthday to you, Taj...congratulations to Mookie Cooper...and go Buckeyes.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Well Happy Birthday, Tajikey! How do you like your present?
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
I'm really not used to my "linebacker and running back" school, Ohio State, all of a sudden being the #1 destination for tall fast WRs.
Also Brian Hartline is a god
If 5'8" is tall, I should have stuck with basketball. But I get your point :)
OK enough pats on the rump...when we getting a RB
Seriously, love this pick up...Every receiver position has a playmaker...can’t load up the D on anyone without the risk of being toasted.
Justice delayed is justice denied....#FTP
Dood is shifty
Offense looks familiar
Not sure about his conditioning - seemed to get caught/tackled without making it to the end zone towards the end of the video
Nice to see him play in snow, sun, fog, Day, night, grass, turf - can do it all !!
If he's just a slot/possession receiver his top-end speed isn't really that important. But he'll still improve conditioning in the dojo.
Is the BIG RED BANNER broken?
Here comes the BOOOOOM!!
Next year might be the most talented assortment of receivers ever at OSU. Extremely balanced, as well. Jameson and Julian to take the top off and make big plays, Smith-Njigba and Scott to handle the outside, Wilson and Olave as all-around playmakers, Mookie and Gill to handle the slot. Fields has to be excited.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Barf...we need an "All your elite WRs are belong to us" gif
Knowing Meredith, she's probably picking up her undergarments in the background there.
Watching this GIF while playing the JLH above is a delight.
Our receiving pool is absolutely ridiculous. We're going to somehow lose a receiver to the 1st or 2nd round of the NFL draft (KJ Hill) and then somehow get better the next season--absolutely absurd.

“But admit there was no splendor in all the bright array

"Anything easy ain't worth a damn!" -Woody Hayes
That's great, but what about the run of three stars the program just took? Elite programs can't stay elite that way.
They don't stay elite when half their class are 3 stars. Sure one year it won't matter but if the trend continues it will be a problem. We already have more 3 stars in our class than Clemson and Bama are about to sign combined. So yea be sarcastic but there's some real truth in your remark.
Clemson took 15 3*s last year.
osu is just trying to catch up.
there is no way you can win a NC doing that.
Nobody said can't. Just makes it incredibly harder and it'll be a lot more difficult to win the BIG10 with half a roster full of 3 stars than it would be for Clemson to go undefeated in the putrid ass ACC.
Are you even listening to yourself? We're talking a handful of 3-stars this cycle not 40. And you are going to look like a doofus when these 3-stars end up being NFL draft picks. If you are that worried about Ryan Day's recruiting maybe you should apply for a job on his staff. Or go root for Clemson. Step off the ledge before you hurt yourself.
"I find your lack of kalua disturbing" - Darth Lebowski
Do you hear yourself? 2 weeks ago i was watching this community make fun of other teams for having a lot of 3 stars. TTUN specifically for half their class being 3 stars. And then 2 weeks later literally half our class at this point are 3 stars.
We can't make fun of 1 institution for stuffing the class full of developmental 3 star players and then go and do it ourselves and celebrate it right after.
I get we have way more depth and higher quality players at this point but if this continues it'll only take like 2-3 years to change that. Do you want to see us fall down to Michigan or PSU level of talent? I sure the fuck don't
How many guys do we have that are top 5 at their position? How many top tier guys the past few years? At that level there is not much separation. The truth is you can't get all 4 and 5 star guys because you can't show guys a way for them to get on the field with that much talent stacked up.
Yet, should Day ultimately land Bijan Robinson, Kourt Williams, and Lathan Ransom, this class will have a score of 299.87. That score would be higher than three of Urban's six true classes at Ohio State. If they were to get a commitment from Jaylan Knighton, that score jumps up to 303.11, which would be on par with that 2013 class that turned out to be decent.
So, either Ohio State never reached that elite tier that we're aspiring to in the first place, or this class fits in well with the recruiting standard Urban developed and the program is just fine. I'll choose to believe this class is one of the five best in the country for a reason and that it will help the Buckeyes to stay in the playoff hunt year after year.
The majority of these 3 stars are players in the trenches. It's very difficult to project those guys and they often don't stand out in recruiting rankings.
Beyond that, several of these guys are expected to jump way up in their rankings. And then there are guys like Cameron Martinez that by all accounts are absolute steals, and you can toss their *** ratings right out the window.
I'd be worried if we were getting skill position players at 3* and low 4* instead of truly top national talent. And beyond that, at the positions we are getting 3* players, we also have multiple top 300 prospects at the same position, such as Paris Johnson, Luke Wypler, etc etc. We needed depth along the lines, and we've gotten it.
Furthermore, sometimes you need to take a player with lower rankings that is an Ohio guy vs a guy who is from across the country and is only rated a little higher. Especially in this new transfer portal era.
When the 5* recruits start disappearing, and the 4* recruits turn into 3*, that's when I'll be worried.
They are difficult to project, but they are extremely important. Especially when we leave the comfort of the big ten schedule to go to the playoffs or bowl game and defensive linemen start running around and through them like they did in 2006. We had plenty of talent at the skill positions then too.
I don't think the sky is falling but I have to admit it is a little concerning when you see us snapping up guys who would usually end up at MSU and thinking it'll be fine just because they are in the trenches.
Thats how you kick off the week! Welcome, Mookie!! He might be my favorite commit of the class so far.

Welcome aboard Mookie!
15-1 is SWEET!
Welcome, Mookie Cooper!
This was a easy call good get. In this day and age of football how can anyone get 4 elite players to come to the same school. It's hard enough to get two rb's in the same class. Balls will fill the sky in the Shoe this year.
...this just in...Brian Hartline may be good at this.
I think Cooper has the best overall build and style of any H-Back I have seen under Urban Meyer's Offense. It will be interesting to see what he tops out at and what his composition is like after a year or two in Marotti's dojo.
That's bold when you consider Harvin, Wilson, Samuel, Miller, and Campbell have all featured as H-Back, but I think in terms of being born to play this position, this kid has it.
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
hey shea...just sayin'. you'd probably love throwin' to a bunch of receivers like this crop we have comin' in. if you could throw the ball worth a shit, maybe you'd get some decent recruits. we'll see what fields and miller can do with 'em.
I take a nap and this happens. Need to do that more often.

Cooper has H Back written all over him. That kid's side step is impressive.
Welcome aboard Mr. Cooper!
You win with people.
You could say that Hartline did it all for.... The Mookie. Come on. The Mookie.... I'll see myself out.
And you can take that Mookie, and....
Stick it in your hall... of fame
This is one of the most exciting recruits this year. Welcome!
Ignorance isn't bliss for the rest of us.
Remember a few years ago and some clown named Zach Smith was our WR coach ? My how things have changed !
Are you implying he didn't bring in good players?
Bwahahahaha this wr class plus what we got last year is REDICULOUS! No team will have enough db's on the field to stop this machine. Add in Fields and a beast at rb you can forget about it. Good luck Big against this machine! Fuck you Mythigan! Bwahahaha.
Fuck eSECpn and fuck Mythigan.
I don't see how any RB wouldn't want to be a part of this class. Miller at QB plus all of these studs at WR? There's no way they can stack the box.
Absolutely agree. This offense is going to be prolific. And guess what it's only Monday and we have more top notch recruits committing soon. Shea Patterson can eat a bag of dicks!
This dude packs a wallop for someone his size. Can't wait to see him open up the run game and slip through the defense catching the ball.
BOOM. Welcome, Mookie, please accept this cookie:
I only see 5 recruits that are ranked higher than 25th at their position. And many ranking numbers that a good golfer would want on a scorecard. I would say our overall grade is in the area of we’re killing it.

I only see 5 recruits that are ranked higher than 25th at their position.

I only see 5 recruits that are ranked worse than 25th at their position.
Welcome aboard, Mookie! Our receiving corps is going to be tremendous for the foreseeable future.
But I have to say, my favorite line in the entire article was this:
With the addition of Cooper, the Buckeyes now have four top-100 overall wide receivers committed in their 2020 recruiting class and eight top-100 commits. The rest of the Big Ten combined has five top-100 commits.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement. - Will Rogers
I'd say the rest of our league really needs to step it up, but dominating a terrible league hasn't hurt Clemson at all in the eyes of the committee.
For that matter, much of the SEC - including Alabama - have yet another chickenshitsaturday scheduled before their rivalry games - and we'll be playing Penn State before ours. Even in the play-off era, a late season loss is still much more damaging than an early season loss - so, it's not like they don't have their advantages
Best Wr group ever? Time will tell. I've seen what wilson can do and it's going to be an absolute nightmare when they roll out 3 five stars and a 5 star TE.
Pixie Dust Herman is a pile of pig vomit. Love seeing that scumbag lose recruits to the Good Guys. The Longhorn fanbase deserves him.

Reminds me of Steve Smith for some reason. If he's half the player we are in for a real treat.
