How firm thy friendship grip...
How firm thy friend's grip...
That's a Buckeye touchdown!
How firm thy girlfriend's wife's grip.
Not firm enough...
Not what I was going for, but ok. I was referring to a friend's grip on either you or the roller coaster safety bars when it gets all crazy with flips and barrel rolls
From a TBDBITL alumnus: THANKS for the great pic! Growing up in Columbus, my family used to attend Cedar Point every summer.
Just 8 more weeks---- O-H

Next headline: Ohio State sues ceder point for infringement on script Ohio.
"I spent 90 percent of my money on women and drink. The rest I wasted." - George Best
Imagine Cedar Point if they had more land to grow. Haven't been there in 20 or so years kids have their kids maybe grand pa should spend a little and do it again minus the coasters with the grand children.
Do they dot the eye dah but the folks up north won't like that and many go there lmao
No Michiganders at Cedar Point? Sounds like a win-win.
Ethos glad I was not drinking a beer..er coffee when I read you comment, would have spit it out.
Side note, let me get ahead of some that will comment about what this has to do with OSU football or recruiting:
1: It is summer slow time for football and stories, if you don't want to read it, DO NOT CLICK ON IT. Do not complain about an article when you read the headline and decide to read anyways.
2: The pic was posted by OSU. Makes it relevant in some sense.
3. The complainers can go back to watching a cat ride a Zumba that your friends (in theory) forwarded to you.
4: I thought it was an entertaining read as I would not search out or follow OSU tweets etc to see such things, nice to have that read and some do that instead.
I would say a # 5 is for nostalgia for Cedar Point, but I do not want lump all OSU fans as having grown up in Ohio and/or having gone to Cedar Point. I miss it, haven't been to Ohio in a long time. Looking forward to going back riding the Mine Ride :). Last side note, let me get ahead of anyone who wants to post correct the spelling of Cedar vs Ceder. We all knew what you meant..sheesh.
Cedar Point signs a 5 star rollercoaster. Raised them up to the top ranking.
Yeah, but Cedarfair hasn't shown the ability to recruit any defense,

People would complain if they signed a 3-star roller coaster.
"I find your lack of kalua disturbing" - Darth Lebowski
The Mine Ride is a 3 star I believe.
Blue collar, Lunch pail kind of coaster.
is the mine ride still there. no sacrarium
The 3 star rides go to King’s Island in Cincinnati
If I must choose between peace and righteousness, I choose righteousness! -Theodore Roosevelt.
I was thinking they go to Michigan Adventures...maybe that's where Disaster Transport transferred to.
Mittens-great comment!!!! I had to actually look up amusement parks from TSUN. Didn't know if they had much "amusement" the last 7 years, or even had amusement parks. And, never realized _ICHIGAN'S ADVENTURE was a real park. Then I thought maybe you were kidding about the Disaster Transport being transferred there, until I remembered that ride at Cedar Point. I thought you were referring to the disaster of UM's football program against the Bucks since 2001. LOL
Lol, yeah...play on words. I live up here...actually not too far from Ann Arbor. The talk has already started as to how they have our number this year. I plainly told one co worker...until Michigan has significant success against us, I could care less about what your fans think.
Meh I live close to Orlando, Busch Gardens season pass does me right every year. But does look badass
Never change, PRB
As a transplant who also loves their new location, you cannot compare to Cedar Point. That's an instant debate with anyone who is unaware or misinformed about the "best" amusement park.
NorCal I agree. Port Richey this comment includes you too. I live 4 minutes from Orlando Universal studios, and listen to Universal and Disney fireworks every night. Port the big boys on the block on the block are here (Seaworld is building more), However, that being said, If you want to have fun rides and have a pass, go with Busch Gardens season pass. It will save a college fund for your kids as opposed to going to Disney and Universal. Roller coasters are roller coasters. If you enjoy it, great and wise choice.
Got 4 annual passes for family at around $500. Can't beat it. I'm glad Ohioans have something to brag about, now if it only doesn't rain every day there they can enjoy it! Bwahahahahaha
I doesn't rain here every day.
Some days are rainy, true but on other days is freezing rain, and other days have snow.
In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...
Lol. Been living in Florida 15 years now and it was definitely worth it. Had my kids here and nothing better than seeing them grow up on the beach. Major theme parks and nice year around weather. I get depressed and miss my home after a couple days visiting in Ohio. Worlds apart as far as quality of living.
Wow all the downvotes for what? This just reminds me of another reason why I moved away from Ohio. Pathetic depressed miserable people. Good luck with your rainy summer. Go Buckeyes. Lmfao
Man these idiots and their down votes. You didn’t come close to saying anything that resembles a downvote. I thought down votes were for things out of line.Keep trolls away. Instead these clowns down vote if they don’t like someone saying they enjoy the beach, or they don’t like someone’s o-line opinion. That’s why people can’t stand OSU fans amongst other reasons . These guys get s chance to vote and they screw it up. Probably get blasted at work and could never really play sports. You said it best pathetic people. I upvoted you(whatever that means). Good luck man.
Port might being joking sarcastic about rainy every day, in fl in summer every fn afternoon, and it is now too as I type
Tony Stark, I will be making my way to Disney for the first time from Michigan. I am meeting my family they flying I’m riding motorcycle. Do you have any suggestions? We there for four days. Places to eat/see?
I suggest bring lots of money. Disney is waaaay overpriced.
Stuckuopnorth, I do not know what you're family consists of (2 year olds, 14 year olds etc) or where you staying location wise but if you do want a great dining experience without paying Disney prices try any place on West sand Lake Road (though they are still expensive relatively). Not as expensive a great place is Miller's Fieldhouse on west Sand lake. Yes it looks a Sports bar inside with TVs (good for you) but the food is great, not over priced like everything else down the street, and if you have a family, they have a broad menu for everyone. All of it is good. I would recommend the jalapeño poppers appetizer. Not frozen, made fresh. They flabbergasted my sis who makes pride in her own poppers. (and she was not happy at first when she thought I took her to place that seemed like a sports bar.). Also Cafe TuTu Tango (google it) on International Drive can be fun. Tapas place with good food and entertainment can appear for all ages. (not a promo for them, just being honest) Any other advice just let me know outside this forum.
I forgot to add. If you are on International Drive, cheap fun depending on your kids age, Slingshot ( if you want that rush and a good view) and also the Orlando Eye Wheel (good calmer view of everything in Orlando including the attractions).
I've been in Florida off and on for 20 years and the summer is hell on earth if you're not in water.
Tampa Busch Gardens just opened the largest slingshot coaster in Florida a few weeks ago.
I went there 3 years ago. BG doesn’t hold a candle to CP.
Spent a good part of my life in both Florida and Ohio and all their amusement parks. IMO nothing holds a candle to CP. And I'll take Ohio over Florida anytime.
Blessed to be a Buckeye
Can't disagree at all depending on what you want. Roller coasters or if you have kids that want to see Harry Potter. (I actually know girls/ladies) that still love that more that an roller coaster)
When my boys were around 12-13, over did it on the Kumba. Got a little vertigo to say the least. We must of went 3 times back to back. The Montu sp was my favorite. Rode it before the big grand reveal, I inspected the building part of the structure and they were running it empty for QC. When I asked if I could ride I was half joking. Did work at all the parks in Orlando & Tampa at one time. Islands of Adventure was the best, had all marvel attractions. Couldn’t believe my boys bitched up after waiting 45 mins to ride the hulk just as it would have been our turn. Brings back memories of Kennywood, a little amusement park on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. Was to short my first time there around 8 yo, devastating.
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
Oh my, I’ve never been much of a amusement park rider, but the sheer site of this ride is enough to make me nauseous; Lol!
Ohio Against the World.
Love this pic!!!
Fields of Dreams
Congrats on the nicely done pic overlap. Unfortunately too tall to enjoy coasters anymore as I bang my bad knees (basketball injuries) . I believe last time I rode one was either The Beast or at Disney decades ago. But I imagine after a few beers and with Le Regiment playing at the site you might just persuade me... I-O
The design of the cars / restraints in many newer coasters mitigate any chance of knee banging.
Tracy...thanx for the update. Maybe Grandpa can now go riding with the kids when they get older. But I'd still like to hear Le Regiment during the ride if possible :)
This has to be crushing news for all the hill people from up north who befoul our parks every summer
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster...
We just noticed that Cedar Point runs a special for Michigan residents, $40 includes day pass, parking and unlimited soda. Ticked us off because they aren5 making that deal for Ohioans.
It is an act of charity, they do live in Michigan. The least they can do.
I realize they are practically on the Michigan border, but why not advertising this? Why make someone find it? Someone joked about it above, but OSU is very litigious, so perhaps that is the reason.
"Because the rules won't let you go for three." - Woody Hayes
THE Ohio State University
From the south and have never been. When would be a good time to visit? Also, is something like a fast pass needed?
I haven’t been since I moved away 20+ years ago, but I grew up about 20 minutes away going almost weekly as a kid and my sister still has a season pass
They have a fast pass, and it is well worth it if you are only going for a day or two. You can get through all the major rides instead of waiting 2+ hours in line for one of the big ones
I’d recommend May, June, or September. July and August can be brutal in Northern Ohio. The humidity and heat in a big black topped park are often unbearable.
Go on a weekday, weekends are murder and crowds are huge. Best time to go is off peak obviously, like late May before schools let out. Sometimes if you time it right you can get off a ride and get right back on. I remember years ago my best friend and I rode the raptor 27 times, Mill Force like 12, etc. a storm blew thru, but it’s cloudy and comfortable after and there was like nobody there. Iirc it was a Tuesday in August
Never forget a cell phone coming off the raptor as I watched it do a barrel roll. Came down like a meteor, all I seen was a flash from the screen but knew what it was. I took off my hat and was able to snag it before it hit the ground. Next thing you know a beautiful brunette comes looking for it as me and a friend of mine ate pizza. 3 years later that became my wife. Just happen to be at the right place at the right time and make a hell of a glove save.
Pictures please....gotta have pictures or it didn't happen LOL
Was just there a few weeks ago, awesome as always and reasonable compared to parks down here.
If going during weekend, definitely get Fast Pass Plus, totally worth it. BUT, be ready for the snarky looks from those in line for hours. If your a coaster fan, this is THE Roller Coast.
DV Discaimer: this is just my opinion and nothing else.
West Palm Buckeye
Live in Florida and have been an annual pass holder at most of parks in state but nothing compares to CP. if you haven’t been in a few years and you like coasters there is not a better ride than Steel Vengeance right now.
Wow, the Blue Streak looks different from when I was a kid ...
"Hell, Woody didn't recruit me; he recruited my mother!" -Jack Tatum
While we’re going down memory lane, does anyone remember Euclid Beach amusement park?
Mom gave me 2 rolls of nickels and I rode all day.
How about the Barrel ride where the floor drops out and your stuck to the wall? Don’t see those anymore!
But can Valravn compete with that SEC speed where here so much about?
and dotting the i is definitely not recommended.
You could fly a drone up there to where the dot would be. Unless that also is not recommended.
