I don't know what it is, but I guess some folks just can't fathom that someone could be an extremely athletic runner and also one of the best passing quarterbacks in the country.
There is no one more conditioned to believe this than OSU fans. Not just from the fact that our athletic QBs couldn’t throw, but from the fact that our throwing QB couldn’t run!
And name one qb in college football who truly excelled at both.
Alex Smith, Troy Smith, Cam Newton, Jameis Winston, Johnny Manziel, Deshauan Watson, Marcus Mariota, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray.....could go on and on..
While not as good a passer, you could add Lamar Jackson to this as well: during his Heisman season he had 3543 passing yards, 56% completion, 30 TD, 9 INT, 1571 rushing yards, 21 TDS. And he was probably better the next year.
The Buckeyes need Fields to develop his running of the offense and decision making. Thankfully he has some good coaches to work on it. What is missing is his own game film to look back on.
Getting Elias Ricks to join the Buckeyes would be special. And adding Ransom to that would make a great D backfield, along with the current commits Cavazos and Phillips. Wow. Worth the wait.
Fields will get his chance to silence any critics. He will have the coaching and the weapons.

I’ve refused to believe the Ricks rumors just because I don’t want to get my hopes up. But it sounds like there might be more than a grain of truth to them.
I don’t think the LSU “insiders” did themselves any favors with all of the talk about Ricks and his family moving to Baton Rouge; sounds like he was pissed, actually.
I think Justin has a slow delivery on the ball. He likes to wind up before letting it go. There will be less time in the pocket to do that now, Coach Day surely sees it if someone like me can and probably has it fixed already. Justin came to the right school to get coached into a better QB. I can’t wait to see how he looks after about a half season of training and coaching. Looking forward to seeing the ball in the air for 80 yds. I remember Pryor winging the ball that distance and my adrenaline levels flying with it.
Instead of worrying about the name, you guys should be figuring out where to meet up to watch some Buckeye Football together. Start a fan club in Raleigh :)
I don't think I've ever been more confident in Ohio State landing a five-star prospect currently committed elsewhere than I am about Ricks becoming a Buckeye.
What about flipping Paris Johnson, Jr. after he committed to both LSU and UGA?

Fields is 6-foot-3, 225 pounds with a 4.5 second 40-yard dash
LOL....I love the haters who try to diminish what the kid is going to do this year and next year!!!! At least tell us which school you really associate yourself with.
Kevin, as usual is good for a laugh when he calls a few that question a recruit's ability a sect. That's hilarious, but then as chief cheerleader of 11W, he states as gospel high school stats, and 7v7, as somehow the second coming of Jesus. Oh, and the meaningless mop up duty at the end of games. Put it all in a ball of wax and it has the same meaning-0. The fact is, he's done nothing at osu and until he does, he's just qb1.
Then Harrish states as fact, that fields will shred a defense with his arm, before he even uses his legs, with the caveat; if you let him. What the hell does that even mean? Aside from the fact that fields hasn't even played a down for osu, what on earth would give one the temerity to even write that? My friend, take off your Lollie, put down your pom-poms, and just be a shill.
I don't care about ratings, do it on the field, and MY eyes will tell me if you're good or not. osu shills will insist that he's the best qb/recruit in osu history. Why/ because his ratings state this as fact. Sorry folks life don't work that way.
I can't imagine all the bitching and moaning if he fails to live up to Kevin's lofty expectations. He is after all following the two best qb's in osu history. Those are some big shoes to fill.
I don’t think taking too many elite WRs is a problem at all. I think they’ve all realized that they don’t need 1500 yards every season to get drafted. Putting themselves in positions to generate good film (while avoiding double teams) is a much smarter move long term.
I was just about to post the same sentiment - I wonder if we will get to see a drunk Baker Mayfield again with CJ on the beat... that would be a video of videos!

I've wondered about that for years as well. It would be interesting to see a longer clip, and to know WTF were those guys doing?

Watching this triggered a childhood 4th of July flashback, before firecrackers were easy to come by; we would smack a whole roll of caps with a hammer. It makes my ears ring just remembering that. (Does anyone under 40 even remember cap guns?)

Joe Nicchi is now a small hero of mine. A guy with an ice cream truck who tells “influencers” to screw off and buy their damn ice cream. Man am I glad that I am nowhere near LA if this is the kind of crap that happens there because of Instagram, etc.
There is no reason to think that Fields can’t throw it and throw it well. I loved TP when he came to OSU of course, but while he could throw he wasn’t a passer by any stretch. Justin Fields looks for all the world like a true passer who can also run. We shall see soon enough.

I've read several articles where companies are complaining they get requests from "influencers" for free hotel rooms, meals, etc. and are fed up with it.

I broke out laughing at the original quote (and you have to love UK news outlets for printing it). Next time I'm out that way I'm definitely looking him up for a cone.
Good for the ice cream guy. A little ironic I suppose, as he noted.
After yesterdays celebration, it is interesting to note that had the 2nd Continental Congress been successful, events in 1776 and beyond might have been delayed for some time. What if Fat George had actually read the petition?
A small but vocal sect of Ohio State football fans have decided based on a small portion of a fake football game that took place three months after he joined the team that Justin Fields sucks at throwing the football.
Now let's pile some hype on him based off of one camp from two years ago.
Yea I noticed that too. The scrimmage in a stadium full of fans against other CFB players doesn't count, but the camp workout in an empty field against other 17 year olds is clearly what we can judge him on.
I do think he'll be great though, so I'm going to let my confirmation bias focus solely on the good stuff.
I’m not saying that’s the only thing to hype and evaluate him on (I mentioned is high school tape and time at Georgia too). My point is there’s more to look at than just his spring game numbers, including an example when he was by far the most best passer in a group that includes a guy that would go No. 1 overall if he was draft eligible. People are acting like he can’t throw based on one example, so I’m providing a foil example when he was literally the best passer among his peers.
That's like your fiance calmly dropping that she almost got engaged to someone else, still talks to them daily and is planning to visit them in five months.
Ya know, when you put it like that, it hits a little different. Gotta like where the Buckeyes stand with Ricks.

Spring Game giants: Taurian Washington, Bam Childress, Torrance Gibson. Three SPring game MVPs that totaled 1 career TD in uniform -- Washington caught an Antonio Henton (!!!) pass for a TD in his first game as a freshman vs. Youngstown State, and never saw the end zone again. Childress, 0 touchdowns in four years; Gibson, I don't think ever took the field for the Buckeyes. Spring Games are SO deceptive. They are basically opportunities for under-depth chart players to make a statement, to show what they've got ... NOT for the "cream of the crop" to dominate.

I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!

Cam Newton: 2,854 yards passing, 66%, 30 TDs, 4:1 TD to INT ratio, 1,473 yards and 20 TDs rushing.
Kyler Murray: 4,361 yards passing, 69%, 42 TDs, 6:1 TD to INT ratio, 1,001 yards and 12 TDs rushing.
How soon we forget.

There are going to be THREE Quarterbacks who played in the state of Georgia, at the Downtown Athletic Club when they give out the Heisman:
Jake Fromm
Jacob Eason
Justin Fields
Write it down.
