I wonder if the better question is: "Which Buckeye would you want to have your back in a bar fight?"
Tracy Sprinkle as of late; Spellman All-time.
Don't sleep on Tommy.
And don't worry if he has to step in this year and start if unexpected circumstances dictate, because he will step right up and get it done.
In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...
I've always felt better about the Buckeyes when there is a Samoan dude or two on the squad. Those guys just have a combo of size/strength/athleticism that you don't see anywhere else. Just absolute freakish monsters.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
One thing I think has been an issue for our D-line over the years has been goal line situations. I don't see Togiai getting pushed around at the goal line. Have not had a big strong nose tackle in a while. We have had smaller, quicker guys there and that's fine, but when its 4th and 1 or on the goal line, you need a tree stump at tackle.
Thats racist, ... in a good way!!!
Technically it is stereotyping, but those dudes are giant monsters that run fast and lift heavy and have a mean streak a mile long. Case in point: the Haka makes me want to piss myself every time I see it.
True, it is stereotyping in a positive way based on race. Racism is stereotyping in a negative way based on race. That’s why I invented the word combination ‘positive stereotype’.
What’s the opposite of racism? Race promotion? A word needs to be invented to describe this.
Maybe something like racejudice ??
After teaching in Samoa for a few years, many claim the Samoan food helps. Palusami, taro, sapasui, Fa’alifu talo, oka. They fill you up quickly. A lot of coconut cream, taro, and more coconut cream.
So the D-line is in good shape for years to come and Togiai is developing as a huge leader for that group. It's great to be a fan of a program that continues to be great in the present while preparing to be great in the future.
Antwuan Jackson.......a name I forgot about. Is he hurt/in the dog house for something?
it seems like he’s hardly ever mentioned when it comes to the D Line.
There are people ahead of him who are better.
I want a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium..
To clarify I’m wondering what’s led to that? Or was he overrated coming out of HS and JUCO?
Jury is probably still out. 1 year at Auburn, then dominated in JUCO. It's not like LJ stopped developing our DL talent. Having Landers and Hamilton and Cornell all coming back is great for depth, but Tommy, Jackson, and Taron Vincent all have to fight for snaps.
Ultimately its good for the line if they can all continue to develop and keep one another fresh during the season. These are good problems to have.
I think he was hurt last year, but also Tommy's just that good. It will be hard for Jackson to get a significant amount of snaps with the depth.
We ok with that guy in the top right looking creepy or nah?
All jokes aside, go get em Tommy. Looking forward to some added snaps as he works into the rotation this year. Really curious to see what a master like LJ can do with such a strong player.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
We ok with that guy in the top right looking creepy or nah?
I noticed it too
Man, Tommy is such a monster talent! If we are seeing him on the sidelines for the majority of the time then that means BB and Davon are just playing lights out!

Defensive tackle a team strength?
Works for me.
Lead the way, TT.

Buckeyes having depth at positions keeps them competitive if someone goes down. This I like.
Enjoying daily the 62-39 ttun beatdown.
Strongest guy on team-how about some bench and squat stats from the author? I think I read an article where Toiai’s dad said he asked for a Gold’s Gym membership in the 5th grade or something.
Here's the article. https://www.idahostatejournal.com/members/how-highland-s-tommy-togiai-be... . He was 12, and all he wanted was Gold's Gym membership.
There are only defensive linemen named, I hope a couple of our guards and or center are or soon will be in the running for top 5, Price destroying people at the point of attack was a beautiful thing!
I would rather be on hand with 10 men then elsewhere with 10,000 - Timur Lenk
L. Johnson should have a TV show made about him. He's an NFL factory, producing stars every year. Every high school kid coming to the Buckeye's d-line is being taught by a Master a Sensei. Here's to rotating and seeing these guys on the field this year. I can't imagine being an opposing player and having guy's rotating in and out that are all just as good as the guy that went out. Scary. Tommy will be a star beside other stars. GO BUCKS !!!!
The following statement is not fair to TT given the small sample size that we have to go on, but I think he could have a tree in the grove and leave here with the reputation of being one of our best 1-techniques of all time.
His strength and leg drive at the point of contact are elite. One fundamental of defensive linemen is to pursue along the line of scrimmage. A number of times last year I noticed him in on tackles on the sideline at the line of scrimmage. This speaks to his motor and speed, along with his elite strength.
As the year evolves, I think it will be increasingly harder to keep him on the sideline. Elite 1-techniques are a nightmare to an offense and we finally have that SEC- caliber 1-technique that we have been clamoring for for years.
A joy which death alone can still.
Our defensive tackle pipeline is stronger than at any point I can remember.
Now that we're pairing blue-chip defensive tackles with our talented DEs it's going to be a scary line!
Tommy's been one of my top three Buckeye players on the team since he arrived on campus ..... love his energy, strength and attitude ..... he will leave a mark on this team before he's done and he will be playing on Sundays ......
I think Tommy and Taron are going to be the first DT we’ve had go in the first round in a long time. That combo is going to be insane by the time they are seniors. Tyreke Smith and Harrison are going to be unblockable in their own rights in two years. With Tommy and Taron sandwiched in between those two is going to embarrassingly amazing. Think about that D line. Every single one of them may end up being first or second round picks. They are all beasts. That d line in two years will be the best in the country. Combine that with an offense that has Fields, Wilson, Olave, Fleming, Scott Jr, Willams, Gill, Teague and a loaded O line, it’s playoffs or bust in the 20-21 and 21-22 seasons.
Don't listen to Freddy P. Soft
Hopefully power and exceptional strength is important to all coaches and players. Let's show domination on both lines.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but does Togiai and Vincent really need time “wait their turn”? I mean Togiai was near 5-star status by the end of the cycle and he was one if the biggest risers by the end. Vincent was a 5-star throughout his recruitment and now the both won’t be seeing the field until their junior seasons because they’ve been sitting behind two 3-stars who are redshirt seniors. Seems like if they earn it they should get, or were they both just a little overrated coming out that they can’t beat out former 3-stars?

He played quite well on 3rd downs from what I saw in my arm chair.
I would have liked to see some numbers on him; i.e. how much weight he can throw around.
"Cause I couldn't go for three!"
Strong like Bull
OH-IO living in SEC! SEC! Ville
What do you expect, "He's Samoan".
If we’re that deep on the dline maybe we can use them on the oline and pay LJ to coach both lines? Go Bucks
DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW MUCH HE MAXES OUT IN BENCH PRESS?
