That’s pretty cool. What do they cost?  I’d be willing to pay a modest premium for that convenience.

Yeah, I’ll bet their definition of modest is the same as mine.

There's actually a few flights that leave on Friday and return on Sunday. Cheapest is $401 roundtrip.

Just checked and that $401 is actually for this direct flight. That’s a good price.

This is such a great idea. When I was a student I would have used this every game United made available.

Go Bucks!

As someone who works in the aviation industry, I will say airlines have started to do this more and more over the last few years, especially for the big fan bases that travel (OSU, ND, Bama). They recognize that connecting is a hassle (a lot can go wrong!) and people are generally willing to pay a little more to fly non-stop to these big games.

Seems like this should’ve already been happening.

The United price is a decent price.  Flew to Lincoln 2 years ago.  Prices really increased as game day approached.  From Columbus to Lincoln, the cheapest prices were in the $700 range--and that was the "cheap" category.  I booked my flight for this years game in January, and it was in the $400 range as is this flight.  The real sticker shock is the hotel prices.  Lincoln is a small town.  But, there are some really nice hotels within a short walking distance to the stadium.  These are going for around $500 a night!  And some are sold out right now.  If you are looking for the cheapest way to spend the weekend in Lincoln, my advice is to book a flight to Omaha, get a car there, find a much cheaper hotel, and drive the 60 miles or so to Lincoln.  Then park your car in one of the parking garages downtown and walk the short distance to the stadium.  Even if you could buy a stadium parking permit, it would be a parking nightmare around the stadium.  But, if you can afford the trip and have never been there, by all means go to Lincoln.  If you are wearing OSU outfits, lots of folks will verbally welcome you to Lincoln and some will actually wish you luck in the game.  Hell, I was walking to the stadium 2 years ago, and someone invited me to their tailgate!  Very nice people there!  GO BUCKS!
