Could we get OSU to bring in the football freshmen and basketball freshmen at the same time and have staff and alumni conduct an “America’s Got Talent”, “The Voice” or some other type of talent competition between the two groups?

Plastic bottle flipping, kewl custom T’s, 3 point contest, dunks contest (Dawand Jones vs. Diallo), etc.

It would be Jones vs Carton, Cartons got HOPS. He won the dunk contest at an all American game.

This is an awesome idea, you should probably send a tweet or something to the athletic department and make it happen.

Great class for Holtmann.  The future is bright.

The offseason is the longest season.

Dive on into these workouts boys. Got big plans and the talent is there, but none of it matters if you don’t put in the hours in the offseason!

Possibly dumb question, but what are the practice limits over the summer for basketball? Can they meet with coaches at all or is contact off limits?

HS

Obviously they can talk with players on their team. Just like if you play AAU or something like that, you can talk with your coach. Practice is limited by coaches, there are no limits to the number of practices.

Excited to see what this group can do this year. I have to say though that if we only loose the one senior for next year I have really high hopes of that team going deep into the NCAA trny... I mean Elite 8  at a minimum  if not deeper.....Who knows this year they may get Elite 8 deep...

It's all about playing D and making shots. If our snipers, Duane and Justin, hit  40% of their 3's, we will be a dangerous team........

OSU basketball went stagnant for a few years. And even being stagnant was overachieving. Welcome to the reawakening of a very solid program! Can’t wait to beat -ichigan at there best sport

Just guesses from past news. Caron 3, Liddell 32, Gaffney 0, Diallo 12, Sueing 14. Kids like single digits and low teens. Hondo 5 and Lucas 11 are in the rafters

Thanks, Buck8690. You were right on all but Diallo.

This is an exciting group that can and will contribute a lot next season. We need help at center, forward and guard and these guys will have to step in there. With the schedule we have, some of these guys that play extended minutes will be exposed for the young players that they are, but as we get into January and February, we will know what we have that we can count on. I don't see how Carton, Liddel and Diallo don't log considerable time this season. We could do some damage at the Big 10 tourny.

Before or after we hoist the BIG 10 trophy in the air for all to see?

I am really excited about this season.  With all the experience coming back, and these talent freshmen to provide quality minutes, there is no reason why this team can't make a significant run in the regular and post season.

My only concern, and I hate to even type it, is that we could lose another key player during the preseason if anyone perceives their role changing or minutes diminishing.
