I’m surprised you didn’t include Sam Adams with his planned official next week. Do you not view him as a realistic option to replace Milton and Robinson in the class?
emotionally exhausted and morally bankrupt
I really don't view him as a serious option right now but I could be dead wrong on that one.
Maybe I missed something but I thought Jalen Berger said OSU and Michigan we’re right at the top? Would love to keep the jersey catholic school league pipeline going. I think the writing is on the wall for Milton. him and his family are very pro Georgia. I guess we’ll find out in a couple weeks
He mentioned Berger, but stated he looks Moreno like an athletes than a true RB. So I dont think he was so much being pessimistic about their chances with him, but rather whether he would fill that true RB need anyway
I Knowshon you're right.
Well played, not sure how I missed that auto correct
He and his family
The suspense is playing out slower than a Korean drama. Ugh.

It would really suck if Milton went to Georgia and Robinson went to Texas.
Good news is Milton came into my restaurant with His family and Alford last Saturday. I made them a special frozen buckeye dessert. Hand dipped chocolate cups filled with peanut butter semmifreddo and a peanut brittle tuille. Him and his family were stoked about it so hopefully I did my part to get him here

Too late. Lol
We as fans need to be careful about what we do around recruits. I was invited to a birthday party of a recruit who went to OSU. His Grandmother who at that time worked at the place I got my hair cut. Just to let you know the Brew Crew and Pryor were locks early in the process and Pryor played a few teams in his recruitment. To me from what I know the kid was a jerk.
Also that sounds amazing
My son and I visited the Woody Hayes facility on the weekend that Nicholas Petit-Frere visited.
He was laughing when he saw a little 6 year old kid all the way from Oregon with a Dwayne Haskins jersey on.
I didn’t take a picture of him meeting Nicholas, didn’t want to screw up any recruiting thing, but we did get pictures with coach Day (little did I know then he’d be leading us in > 1 year) Togai, Alabi, Haskins, and several others.
I told Nicholas that nobody else in the country represents a University internationally like we do. I told him if he became a Buckeye, he'll have fans in every single state, all over the world.
You did your part, we all do :D

Thank you, Andrew. This is an article I’ve been hoping you’d write.
Ohio State’s 2020 RB recruiting is a moving target. The situation is fluid. We can hope for the best but with Robinson, Milton and Knighton all seeming to be leaning elsewhere—not panicking, just reading the tea leaves—we need to be prepared for the worst and if “the worst” is Trayanum and Drennen, I can more than live with that. Trayanum is a battering ram whose athleticism and versatility remind me of Jerome Baker, while Drennen offers a nice change of pace ala Curtis Samuel.
Now Kirby is getting deaths of family members into edits? I’m sorry, but that’s pretty inappropriate and slimy. What does that have to do with the University of Georgia?
We’d call that good recruiting and work by our staff and graphics team had we done this.
The sentiment is nice but having the Milton in a Uga jersey is the most self-serving thing I've seen.
i mean seriously, saying we're sorry your grandpa died on this day is nice and appropriate. Jamming your jersey in there is awful IMO.
That jersey is Uga-ly. I'll show myself out.
My aim, then, is to whip the Weasels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom. - William Tecumseh Sherman (with apologies)
Think about it. They had to get this photo from the Milton family, so they probably asked permission from his father before doing so.
Let's be real, the only reason you're complaining is it's in Georgia red and not Scarlet.
If it was the other way around you'd be screaming GENIUS!
My complaint is with the quality of the graphic, it doesn't look very good. Our guys would've done it much better.

Nah that'd be in bad taste either way
What really sucks is that all those kids are from so far away. Yeah Ohio State has a national pull but it's still hard to pull 5 star kids from thousands of miles away. Would be nice if one of those kids were from the Midwest.
Milton's four visits are us LSU, UGA and Bama. So wherever he goes it is a long haul. Baton Rouge at 1993 miles is the closest. Columbus is a little over 2300. When you go that far away an extra 400 miles is irrelevant. Your point with him and distance is wrong.
Hes not wrong. You just used one example that fits your narrative. You're fake news.
Fellas, fellas ...
Jesus. Do you want a list of 5 stars on the west coast or even in the south who never considered us due to distance? Or just gloat because Milton is an exception where distance doesnt seem to matter?
When Milton is the subject of the conversation, all the others in your list are not relevant as to whether or not Milton will consider us.
While that is correct for that one kid... Those other schools have the advantage of being in the warm weather of the south. It's a hard pull to get kids from warm weather regions up/over to the Midwest...some of these kids have never physically seen snow.
And yes I know we recruit Texas and Florida very well...but it still doesn't mean it is easy.
Didn't say it is easy. The point with Milton is we are not at a distance disadvantage. That is all I'm saying.
Yes but we are talking about that one kid. So the point is valid for this conversation
I’ll be pretty darn disappointed and it would be a shame if we can’t pull a 5 star RB when we really need it and have the playing time available.
I think Crowley and Teague will have something to say about a 2020 back coming in and playing right away.
I'm a big fan of the Knighton kid. He has a burst that the other backs just dont appear to have (except maybe Robinson). He may not be as big but he looks big enough and he runs with an attitude. Anxious to see who joins this lethal offensive class..
And we haven’t had a 5 star RB since Beanie Wells. Gotta be a 4 star gem out there. Worked for us well with guys like Hyde, Zeke, and JK.
Zelda wasn’t a 4star coming it but he was going out. That’s what matters.
If you meant Zeke, he was a 4 star coming in and a 5 star going out. This is exactly my point. There has to be a 4 star out there flying below the 5 star radar.
Blasted autocorrect. I guess Zeke has a ways to go before Zelda is no longer an autocorrect. It’s also what happens when I post without cheeters.
I’m getting there. Eyes hurting more and more being on here. Getting more and more farsighted. I got some, but don’t use them on the tablet yet.
How about a “Jonathan Taylor” type? If I’m a RB, I would go with anyone but LSU. They rode Fournette into the ground and his NFL career has suffered for it.
Yep. But we got to hear commentators call him "a grown man" with very serious expressions on their faces over and over. That appeals to the recruits
Only because he found the Triforce.
Maybe I'm overlooking someone, but Beanie was probably the last big-time RB to come out of an Ohio high school. That makes it tougher for us, but it is still odd that we've had so much trouble given the status of the program, history with great running backs, etc. We've been in it for top-self guys in recent years but haven't been able to seal the deal. Heck, even Portal State and the Great Pumpkin landed not one, but two, of the guys we were after in last year's class. Now I'm depressed. Maybe I need a Snickers. Happy Father's Day everyone.
Shouldn’t be too tough for us. Our last 4 RBs, including our upcoming departure with JK, will be in the NFL. We chose guys like Zeke and JK, probably even over the 5 star kids. Like I said in another comment, too, there’s gotta be another 4 star gem out there.
We should be able to get our guy. Happy Father’s Day!
MSU Scott of Hubbard broke many Ohio rushing records. Smith of Howland TTUN had his records beaten by Scott. Trudaunt sp. of Liberty in the NFL now played for the TTUN too. Larkin was having a nice career until for health reasons had to give up football. The kid from Liberty was from a troubled family and heard he wasn't cool either. His dad pulled a gun on his X wifes husband during a scrimmage game. Imagine sitting next to him at the Shoe.
Trayanum is a must-get but I actually think he's a better linebacker prospect.
Could he a be a bullet dude too?
Yes. Have you watched his film? That seems like it would be his best position, assuming he doesn't get to big. While he's not tall, he seems like he has a frame that can add weight.
Too much talk about RBs while Day and his staff are failing us with defensive recruits!
Spooner asked this in the recruiting thread, if we miss out on both Milton and Robinson do we circle back around on EJ Smith? He seemed to have a high interest in OSU and has visited more than once. But I haven't heard him mentioned at all for a while.
Fields of Dreams
I think Spooner was asking that if we miss on Knighton. I’m not AE (who would know better) but I don’t think Knighton or Smith is viewed as an every down back. I’m not sure Smith fills the same role as Milton/Robinson.
All the others probably have 5 stars sitting in waiting. You may be a 2020 top 5 RB but the 2019 5 stars will have been there for a year. We have JK and some fine young talent behind him. We need a new addition for the near future.
Zamir White was 2019 number 1 RB with same measurables. Georgia has last years best.
Not sweating this one at all given that we have Master Teague and Mr. Crowley ready to step in. Those guys are for real.
Like what I’ve seen from both of these guys.
I think OSU needs a former Buckeye RB. one from the NFL on the coaching staff. Not sure if any are available though.. We shouldn't have to beg for these guys, this is OSU. They should want to come and we choose the ones we need.
"When you're part of a team, you stand up for your teammates. Your loyalty is to them. You protect them through good and bad, because they'd do the same for you." Yogi Berra
There are a lot of great programs out there. We aren’t the only one. Hiring an ex NFL RB to just recruit and his only resume is only that is not smart. Wouldn’t e smart AT ALL!
Oh, not just for recruiting, you must have misunderstood. That's what people said about LB, then Vrable happened. That's what they said at WR, now Hartline has them at a different level, Vrable did the same to the LB's.Good development and a strong bloodline takes the pain out of recruiting.
All signs point to Hartline being a home run hire, but we'll see how much the WRs new level had to do with Haskins. They'll have to be at an event higher level to help Fields get settled.
Good point. Sadly, like Vrable, he probably won't be here long.
You cats worry to much about the rb position. Sure there are a few 5 star kids floating around but every year there are 50 or more rb's that could come here and be great. When have we ever had a bad one here not in my life time and I'm 70 years old. 50 states in this country and each one has a number 1 we will be fine just trying to get a elite one who in the truth of the matter not that much better than no,50 in the listing of back's. Is there a team in the B10 that doesn't have a good rb?
Very true. The RB position is very important, but as long as you get someone reasonably good out of high school, he'll soon be great due mainly to coaching, S&C, and the rest of the team around him.
I've always wondered what it would look like to take one of the guys who can take an otherwise bad team and carry them on his back like Tevin Coleman or Melvin Gordon, but put him on an actual complete team like OSU.
I've posted this in the 2020 class thread as well, but I think Blake Corum makes some noise before all is said and done.
So you said pessimistic Ohio State fans? No way
Could there be some trepidation on the part of the recruits because Alford had his name out there as a coach for another school? I can't remember whether is was to be an OC or a head coach.
Send the Earth Reverberating
Seems to me Milton’s dad is in love with UGA, but not sure Kendall feels as ecstatic. Hopefully, dad will let the kid make the pick... I still am holding out hope that everything gets sorted out after the visits and he chooses the good guys....
I can't blame him, I'd want my son competing for #2 in his league and likely missing the playoffs every season too.
