Except the LB position, based on last years performance, this looks like a list of little brothers that have to be picked or big brother isn't allowed to play. There's a reason OSU leads the conference in recruiting every year. I know, off season content. Kudos on coming up with something to ruminate on.
Saying that about Moore, Epenesa, and Taylor makes you look uniformed. Those aren’t “little brother” players.
Grab one LB from each team and just hope 3 of them pan out.
Except for Jonathan Taylor. I'd take him.
Can you imagine Rondale Moore in a Ryan Day offense with the other weapons at tOSU around him?
Reminds me of Diggs. I wanted him very bad
Feed the trolls
“Moore had 114 catches for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns...”. For a second, I thought that was his stat line against OSU last year.
I survived Cooper, and I hate Tai Streets.
It's nuts to think that...when it really comes down to what we "need" from another team it might be an LB here or there, Rondale Moore, and Jonathan Taylor (and we don't "need" him but he's just too good to pass up). Our two-deep across the board for the most part includes people better than the best at any one position on these other teams. Unreal.
To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.
Nice article, good selections, but I'm going to sit pat with the cards (Buckeyes) delt.
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
If Moore was at OSU. He would be considered the best WR in the country.
The ugly truth is often downvoted
If Moore was a BUCKEYE, he'd probably be a RS frosh fighting for his place in line this season...
16-2 is SWEET!
Chris Olave played last year, so...
they would have both been behind Parris and Hill (and McCall) last year IMHO.
not sayin' I wouldn't want him, but...
Maybe that's why the Lb's look so bad (outside of 39). Better talent sat behind seniority.
Give me Paddy Fisher with Malik and Baron on the outside at linebacker. I’ll pass on the rest of this list. The only other player even worth a mention is Taylor and even though he is the Doak winner his pass protection would be a liability for Day’s offense.
I think Epenesa would have to be at or near the top of the list.
“The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it.” – Theodore Roosevelt
I'd take Taylor Martinez form Nebraska. We are mega-thin at QB and Fields is unproven at this point in time. Taking a good QB would be prudent.
I do not want Taylor Martinez. I would take Adrian Martinez. ; )
doh! sorry. good catch!
Why Cronk? With a name like Cronk, it has to be good.
Can we steal from Clemson’s roster instead?
"porque las estirpes condenadas a cien años de soledad no tenían una segunda oportunidad sobre la tierra."
The players they'd take would get suspended for PEDs anyway.
Tom Brady lost to John Cooper. Never forget.
You sound like a Michigan fan make excuses of why Ohio State is better.
Clemson is better, because they’ve had better players. 4 DL in first round and elite passer is why they win. Give them credit and hope we get better
Weak minded to do otherwise and make excuses
We don't have to take our clothes off to have a good time, no no
I think I would be looking for more OL. I understand liking the guys we have, but I would like some more game experience.
Moore, Epenesa and Fisher would top my list of the best and biggest difference-making players that were stolen from OSU and would be too good to pass up.
BTW, in case anybody noticed, IMHO, while it's fun to think about raiding the competition and "stealing" their best talent, I personally consider all star recruits/players as Buckeyes first, that is, until they make the tragic decision to join some low-level band of thieves and thereby consign themselves to a desperate life of sorrow, loss, pain and suffering.
sure sure sure and if Orlando Pace and Eddie George were just freshmen again.
Here's my question: Which Buckeye would each of the other Big-10 teams take?
You should start a Forum thread on it, seriously. It would be interesting. My guess is that TTUN would take anyone and PSU would want Young. Meanwhile, Purdue definitely wouldn’t take our LBs, yet.
Any team breaking in a new QB would probably take a flyer on Fields instead of their guy, just because his ceiling is higher. They’d all want Young. Teams needing a WR could do worse than someone like KJ Hill.
Only one DB? Seems like we could use a little more help there.
Get us a new Middle LB. we don’t need to steal one from another team. Play someone besides Borland
slow and small.
