I am humbled by the way this man is honoring his father, thank you good sir for all awareness you are trying to raise and lives you are hoping to save
I do this for the thousands of lives I might save and the one I couldn't

Great story! What an awesome young man.
"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Shit, what a ride!"
Family history is a big factor in heart problems as well as other health problem which I ignored. My father died of the widow maker heart attack. We had completely different life styles where I ate better and exercised so I thought I wouldn't have the same problem. My fate was different from my father's (at the same age as close as a month) by shear luck. I was working as a paramedic and just took a heart attack patient to the hospital and while trying to eat a chicken sandwich on the run, I choked and vagaled out in the hospital. Since my LAD was almost closed I stayed out for a while. I woke up after a helicopter ride in Vanderbilt with two stents and very little heart muscle damage. I'm now all over my nephew who is getting to that age. Don't ignore family history. I'm sorry this young man lost his father and is trying to help the situation.
Great for Denzel to start this program. Heart disease is the no 1 cause of death in America. My brother died from a heart attack at a young age. Family history and diet are major reasons. Google the 10 worst foods for heart health and you will see. My family grew up eating all of those foods. I learned and now run marathons. Thanks, Mr. Ward.
Absolutely tragic that nobody knew how to used the AED. Glad that he's putting effort into educating people about CPR and AEDs. They may save a life some day.
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
Very impressive young man.. His father would be very proud.

Inspiring read - applaud the Ward's initiative here in honoring their late husband/father.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Wonderful tribute to Mr. Ward by Denzel.
great job denzel!
A man with a passion to make a difference can change the world. Strong work Denzel!
Great to see a young man use his platform to help others. A lot of good things coming from Buckeyes the past couples weeks. Ward, the Days with their foundation, Malcolm Jenkins helping those in need in Jersey. It's nice when players and coaches have all of the accolades on the field, but there's something special when they take it to the next level off the field. Go Bucks!
The older I get, the more I appreciate the quality of the many people associated with The Ohio State University. The Ward family is exemplary. It's a pleasure to see Denzel follow in the footsteps of his dad and people like Archie Griffin and Jack Nicklaus, humanitarians, who preceded him in the athletic program at the university. I am confident that the Ward's efforts to educate people about heart disease, provide resources, like defibrillators, and teach and mentor young people will save and enrich lives in the months and years to come.
