Kerry Coombs returns to Ohio State as the team's secondary coach and defensive coordinator.
Whoops. Was this posted too early?

Sees the Hurry Up posted, thinks, “Did I just skip a whole day and sleep until 6:50 pm?”
Didn't know what I clicked on, but it was awesome!
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
10.19!!! Was that electronically timed? That is off the charts...
keep an eye on this one....
Would he be an instant commit and take once offered? Legacy and SPEED. Get him the ball and let him run.
"I was tired of trying to work my way around the back so I just ran him over.” -Joey Bosa, PSU 10/25/14
Hurry'd Up indeed.
Drew Donley inherited good genes...
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Is there another way to get them (yet)? ;>)
Nice! Gotta love getting the Buckeye content early. It will be interesting to see how the 2021 WR class comes together. I would think we are in good shape for Ballard, Harrison Jr., Styles, and perhaps Egbuka. But Donley sure can fly...!

Mattison in red is still a struggle
If I were a defensive recruit I'd be concerned about the longevity of Mattison and Johnson. It's the proverbial "elephant" in the room that nobody wants to speak publicly about. I can assure you it's being used "negatively" against OSU in subtle ways. I know there are a couple of "younger" defensive coaches on the staff but they are new too. This issue needs addressed in the near term for both the program and recruits.
Buckeye since 1952.
If Johnson is grooming a replacement, I'd like to know. Couldn't hurt recruiting to have a Johnson disciple take over.
Isn't Al Washington the Johnson replacement? He was a DL as a player and I believe he had some DL coaching somewhere in his past.
If he can get the LB's playing the way we know they can, would you want to move him to DL? If he can develop them into first round draft choices, I'd leave him there. I'm they are already getting names ready for when the "Day" comes.
(Thank you. Thank you. I'll be here the rest of the week. Please, large bills only.)
Wait, there's a July signing day? I thought early signing was December and regular was February.
Typo on my end. Meant to take out "signing day" and just leave July.
You cannot coach speed. If he legit ran a 10.19, that is world class speed, so why haven't we offered yet?
OK I did a search on H.S. track times and Drew doesn't appear anywhere for 2019 season fastest times. The list stopped at 10.38 so I think it is safe to say that was probably hand timed somewhere. He did not make the Texas state HS track finals either. Still the kids sounds fast even it that was a hand time.
In the last summer olympics, the 8th place finisher in the finals ran 10:08 so 10:19 is definitely world class. In the prelims, some folks were running in the high 10s.
Let's Go Bucks
Wow, the hurry up is really in a hurry now :D
10.19 for a 100 meters is world class speed for anyone, and this is a very young kid in high school. Impressive. Of course speed alone doesn't make a great player, but speed is important.
June is shaping up as a critical month in terms of recruiting, the impact will reverberate for a long time. My guess is a lot of the recruits are waiting to see how the defense shakes out this year before pulling the trigger.
Doug Donly from Cambridge, OH is a blast from the past. I believe that Doug was blazing fast so it must be in the genes.

I won’t be satisfied about defensive recruiting announcements until I see bob weigh in on the recruiting threads.
I’m calm now! You guys promised all these highly ranked defensive recruits that are just about to pull the OSU trigger.
Early release for the Hurry Up! Also probably the most comments that I have seen posted for it in quite a while.
Only bad thing about an early posting of the Hurry Up...no updates from camp day at the WHAC...
That's actually the entire reason it was posted early. Got a full post for you guys on the camp. https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football-recruiting/2019/06/10...
I also believe that the age of 2 of the defensive coaches is a huge problem, Honestly folks were not even really in the picture on any kids who are highly ranked on the defensive side of the ball. You guys brag about getting a crystal ball from a guy predicting that the 20th ranked safety will commit to Ohio State, well we have a commit from the 21st ranked safety already. If you recruit a team full of 20th ranked recruits you will be ranked 20th when the season is over if you are lucky. This year and next when Myer's kids filter out this defense is ....?
