In the poll era (since 1936), OSU is by far the class of the B1G:
National Titles: OSU 8, UM 3
B1G Titles: OSU 34, UM 27
Head-to-head: OSU 43, UM 36
Major Bowls (New Year's Six): OSU 20-14, UM 10-16

This guy knows exactly what to say all time to perfection.

Disagree.  No one is perfect.

“It may sound funny to you being an Ohio State guy, but I’m really a big Michigan fan,” Nicklaus said. “I’m a Michigan fan about 11 weeks a year. I want them to come in undefeated.”

What a class act!

You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!

That was a great moment...here's my favorite Jack moment/story though.  Couldn't have happened at the expense of a better person than Johnny Miller either...

You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton

Great post, JK!

Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !

Two great golfers-- the Golden Bear and the Golden Boy.
Two great men away from golf.
Jack still married to Barbara (5 children), Johnny still married to Linda (6 children).

Mahalo for the video clip Kozmo!

When I lived in California the sportscaster on a local TV station mentioned that golf's Golden Bear was from the Golden State.
Not so fast, my friend.

Ua Mau ke Ea o ka 'Aina I ka Pono. The life of the land is preserved in righteousness. (Hawai'i state motto) Aloha nui kakou.

Well, he is an i-dotter, and is living up to it. Atta Buckeye, Jack! GOAT.

His charge from behind to win the 1986 Masters at the age of 46 was a thing of beauty. He is simply the greatest golfer to ever live.

Monclovabuckeye's picture

And shot a 30 on the back nine on Sunday to win it!

I don't give a damn for the whole state of Xichigan.

Man, Ohio State just has some darn fine ambassadors doesn't it?

Jack Nicklaus, one of sportsdom's all-time greats...transcending said greatness beyond the course.

The most outstanding golfer to ever play the game. He is an even better person.

It would have been great toi see the recruiting articles on JN had 11 Warriors been around then.

Stay tuned with Eleven Warriors for additional coverage this week on Ohio State's ties to the Memorial Tournament.

I have never played golf, really have no desire to play golf, but I would love to sit down with Jack to just talk. He seems like a really great guy and a class act, and I am sure I would glean a nugget of knowledge from him from just talking about life.

I think a lot of folks who see dudes like Jack at the top of their sports sort of think he was just born that way. It's really easy to forgot the amount of hard work top level athletes in any sport put in. I remember seeing this (below) once and thinking.. what a grinder..... and it's the type of stuff that doesn't get talked about enough.
