It'll never happen, but ginn would get his hair blown back, what he has left of it.

Really impressive time on that 400m relay split.

That anchor leg was more than really impressive. You can hear it in the commentators voices. Almost the fastest 400 ever run by a high schooler.

I have never seen someone come from that far back to take the lead before.  I can’t believe he didn’t burn himself up in 300 yds just making up ground.

In Maryland there state meet for young girls of 12 to 14 years of age had a impossible come from behind win.

I once saw a girl, after already winning the Ohio Div 1 state 1600m run, go from LAST to FIRST in the last 150m of the 800.  It was nuts seeing her pick off 15 girls one by one.  Maureen Ferris from Magnificat, I believe was her name.  Circa 1993.

EDIT:  She didn't win the 1600m run, but did place 6th.

I tried same& couldn’t pull it off

You definitely hear the crowd cheer when you try to catch someone like that on a relay - none of them really care when you  don’t run them down - you’re event was the 100. Vomit immediately

There are many many men in the nfl faster than ginn, at least a half a dozen which are buckeyes.

HS

I don’t believe Ginn ever specified the distance. Over the distance preferable to Ginn, there may not be many that could take him.

Thought I read somewhere goal post to goal post so 120 yards.

Its Matthew Boling. Hey it would be fun to watch.

I was going to post about Boling the other day. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more impressive high school athlete in my lifetime. He would dust Teddy in the 100 meters.

This is definitely where I parked my car.

I don’t think Ted Ginn could have ever ran a 10.13 auto.  It’s remarkably fast.  Over 40 it might be close in his prime but Boling is probably a future olympic level athlete at 400 and 200 meters.

Ginn ran 45.2 split after his senior year in Nike nationals. Bolling ran alleged 44.74 split, which was really a 45.4. Ginn wins.

HS

How about the 100m and 200m times?

HS
rkylet83's picture

He ran a 44.74 on video.  I love Teddy Ginn and think he’s an amazing athlete but he’d be in over his head here.

I posted this story last night....not sure why it got deleted multiple times.  I'm sure I did something wrong, but not sure what it was.

I posted this story last night....not sure why it got deleted multiple times.  I'm sure I did something wrong, but not sure what it was.

You posted twice with vague title and nothing but a link. Those were deleted because you need more than just a link for a forum topic, as otherwise it’s just a comment.

Then you asked to have the topic deleted after you posted a topic that asked why your other two topics were deleted, and a moderator obliged. In that thread, people explained that you should avoid linking and running. You even responded “Thank you, didn’t know that we had commenting rules”, or something similar.

This was nothing personal against you. The site just likes to have some substance to the post. I think that the OP here did a good job as an example. They created a decent headline and then pulled in some quotes or info from the article as well, so that that the reader doesn’t have to do all of the work. At least give people a taste for what the article is about. If you don’t care enough to do that, then why should someone else care to read your topic?

Would be fun to watch.

Not sure what the DVs all over this thread are for. It’s ok to say Ginn might not be the fastest person alive.

HS
Silver Sniper's picture

lol. Not that it matters much but people use the DVs to represent their opinions and not to stop the jack-holes from violating the commenting policy. Oh well, what can you do.

I thought that Teddy was challenging other football players, specifically WRs. Does this Boling kid even play football?

If not, this is like an NHL enforcer saying that he could whip any other player in the NHL and a MMA pro responds, “I’m your huckleberry.”

HS
Scarlet_Lutefisk's picture

That is what I thought originally, probably because somewhere in an article it said he claimed to be the fastest man in the NFL.

HS
logamaniac's picture

I mean it’s a highschool kid and he’s challenging him for fun.  I don’t think either one would take a fun race too seriously so what does it matter?   It’s a feel good story.

The issue that could stop this from ever happening is that Teddy posed the proposition as a "bet".  Meaning that the young man would have to put up $10k of his own money.  Of course, they could always run for free...but if I were Teddy I wouldn't risk pulling a hammy for something that doesn't pay out.

So, does this kid Bowling play football? Or is he focused on just track?

Phenomenal athlete, in any event.

Id assume Ginn would never get any legitimate takers because anyony capable of competing from high school/college might be under some NCAA rule that prohibits "gambling" and any professional athlete has an insurance policy or employment contract stipulation that their multimillion dollar payday would be voided if they did.
