Great summary. Very informative. Thank you.
Did he charge you for listening to him?
Perfect scenario, day wins 2 Natty's in the next 3 years, nfl calls day, urban gets the coaching itch and leads osu to 10 straight Natty's and rides off into the sunset with osu being an unstoppable juggernaut. The end.
150-0 does have a nice ring to it... or 20 rings
That's a Buckeye touchdown!
I have no doubt Meyer gets the coaching itch again closer to the start of the 2019 season. But as far as him taking another head coaching job goes I think his family may have a lot to say about that. Shelley has openly said she wants him to be done coaching for the sake of his health (which having to deal with people like Brett McMurphy all the time as head coach at a major CFB program won't help there) and right now everybody in his family is in Columbus (with the exception of Nate who is at UC). I think for the time being he stays put (especially considering Meyer is approaching 60 years old and has said before he doesn't want to coach into his 60s). As far as AJ Hawk's Notre Dame comment goes I think Brian Kelly might have something to say about that happening. Kelly bought himself at least a few more years in South Bend with the way last season went. Plus Shelley hates South Bend and has said she doesn't want to live there again.
Thanks Hetuck. Great stuff.
All I’m saying is, if Meyer gets the coaching itch I’m going to need him to hire Zach Smith again so he gets rid of all his OSU gear before the next time he gets arrested.
That won't happen. If he did that he'd be sentencing his family to years of hell courtesy of Brett McMurphy and the media mob.
Screw Notre Dame. I don't like the fact Notre Dame did not want to join the B1G but gets to cherry pick games against B1G teams, sometimes several B1G teams, each year. Beating the Irish is not that monumental anymore, anyway.
Thanks for sharing Hetuck.

Urban is young relatively speaking. He could rest for 4-5 years and still coach somewhere else for 5-7 years easily.
He's inching closer and closer to 60. And Meyer has openly said in the past he doesn't want to be coaching when he's in his 60s.
1/5 in the transfer portal? Wow.
Exactly my thoughts.

The fact he had the precise waiver numbers tells me he is part of an NCAA working group. I expect changes after the year experience.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
I may have rounded up a bit, but he said "over 2,000." There are 130 FBS schools x 85 scholarships = 11,050 players. It is still an astounding figure & players can still enter for next season. See Florida mess.
I wanted to be sure on the 2,000 figure. I went back to re-listen to that portion and he used 2,000 three times. That number is astounding. I think we will see considerable backtracking on transfer freedom. Mandatory year of no competition is the obvious remedy.
That would defeat the purpose of the portal in the first place. I think a better remedy would be transfers would have a deadline to enter the portal. Like March or April. That way you dont have guys leaving after spring games or during the summer leading up to fall camp and leaving teams short 2 QBs like we had to deal with. Without Gunner Hoak we were looking at the possibility of Chugonov being our starter if Justin Fields gets hurt.

I’ll admit I haven’t listened so I’m asking questions in the blind. Was he specifically talking about football players in the transfer portal? It’s for all sports right? 1 in 5 or 1-6 seems pretty high to me unless that’s 2000 in all sports that the portal is available for.
Let's Go BUCKEYES!!!!!
Nice thread. Thanks Hetuck.
Nothing cleanses the soul like a no call pass interference.
Nice summary. Thanx for the post.
That said, Gene Smith will NEVER dig himself out of the PR hole he dug for himself with the gross mishadling of the Tressel mess...at least with me.
Calling it amateur hour is too good a label.
