I can't fathom recieving a 7 figure signing bonus. Of course I could never have gone pro in anything except maybe fishing.

I thought the NCAA says you can go pro in life

Pretty sure I still have my amateur status for life. Maybe its immature I'm thinking of.

And yet Haskin's $14 M deal pales in comparison to Kyler Murray's $35 M deal.
Does Dwayne need a new agent?

Great decision to get started early and avoiding contract problems.

Haskins has GOT to get a more excited smile.. seriously man u just got 14.5 million and ur just like “yeah that’s nice i guess. One less thing...”

still, gotta love him and all the best, gunna have to become a skins watcher now

I call Dwayne "baby face" because he always has that calm smile. Even after beating the sh*t out of TTUN he wasn't animated. He's just a mellow dude on the outside, but fierce and focused on the inside.

Seems like just yesterday that he was throwing for 800 yards and 8 TDs vs TTUN. God bless you, 7.

I can't lie. $8.47mil before taxes would burn a giant hole in my pocket. I would need restraint.

Hopefully these guys have enough sense to hire a trustworthy financial guru to help them with their new found wealth

Trustworthy. Ay, there's the rub.

For anyone, I suggest starting early with John Bogle's 10 Rules of Investing, or Warren Buffet's advice to his wife upon his death/her inheritance ( a low cost index fund that follows the S&P 500).

John Bogle (Founder of Vanguard & low cost index funds):  “There is not such a thing as a permanently good investment manager. Investing is 95% luck and 5% skill. And if I’m wrong, it’s 98 and 2."

Ray Dalio's All-Season Portfolio is worth considering.

Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !

I can't believe you got a down vote.  Maybe a bankruptcy lawyer?  Referencing Warren Buffet's advice, the GOAT for investing, great choice.  I tell my kids the same thing (low cost index funds), and give them every article on famous stars who are broke shortly after retiring or sometimes while still playing.

Lawrence Funderburke started some sort of consultancy for sports millionaires I believe. Yep. I think this guy is so focused he’ll be ok. Go Dwayne!!

Congratulations Buckeye. Case Keenum (sp?) Is very good. Experience may give him an early lead.
ROY would be an interesting target.
Best of everything. We're watching as often as possible. Great things are ahead.

Just spent time thinking what I would do with Kendall Sheffield's signing bonus, let alone Haskins.

Congrats gents, and enjoy responsibly

Great for Haskins!!

Lol, does anyone remember a few posters wanting Martell to start and take reps away from Haskins??

I guess the backpack is because he took the cash option for his bonus?

He's going to need a bigger backpack.

Just saw Kyler Murry's deal, yowza. Fully guaranteed, too. I know the latest CBA has a slotting system for NFL draft picks, however I thought QBs got a bump, especially QBs in the top half of the draft. I don't know the other salaries to compare to, but at first glance I'm surprised Haskins is getting paid so much less than Kyler.

It was last year at this time many of you were worried about an unproven Dwayne Haskins being our QB.

Cant wait to see Justin Fields!!!

I'm happy as a Buckeyes fan and a Redskins fan that this didn't turn into some drama. All of my Redskins fan friends are excited to have Haskins, but I tell them "you ain't seen nothing yet". As long as Dwayne is healthy he will devastate the NFC east.

Has anyone heard if Martell is starting this year? Be gentle, just curious.
