Do you guys hate Marchand yet? #ToldYaSo

GREAT WIN!!!!!!

Should be interesting to see if the league takes a look at the Marchand hit. A check to the back area is dirty but usually gets a pass, but a check that's a blow to the head is dirty and suspension worthy imo. No reason for that at all...

Continue to be amazed at how loud Nationwide gets during big games. The towels and the noise level were insane. Crazy to hear the national folks say how it's one of the hardest and loudest places to play in the NHL...

Bob has been fantastic and the Duchene deal has been a godsend. Keep it rolling boys!!!! 10 more wins!!!!

Go CBJ!

Go Bucks!

Unreal.  This league needs to take action

Two Marchand penalties have resulted in two important power play goals. The NBC commentator called him "selfish."

Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

Marchand's rap sheet. If the league doesn't act, the fix is in.

I highly doubt they will suspend him. I think he will just receive a fine.

Marchand needs suspended for the rest of the series. Cheap ass.

There's no points for second place, gentlemen.

Bob was amazing.  Hoping this continued run in playoffs provides some incentive for him to stay in Cbus ...and Bread Man too.  Go Jackets !!

HS

Can't afford everyone, but I'd make an eight-year offer to Bob. No one else can and his talent can't be replaced. Duchene second. Have to leave cap space for Jones down the road.

Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

Yep. Keep Bob and Duchene...let Bread walk. That would be pretty great if they could do that.

Stay golden, Ponyboy.

Unfortunately, Bob and Bread have the same agent. Package deal, sunshine, and no state income tax.

Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

Panthers are going to get them both I'm afraid. You don't hire Coach Q for 6 mil a year if you aren't going to get him players

Stay golden, Ponyboy.

Yea let Bob go, will not be worth the money he requests. Nice to see him play hard in a contract year, but my mind was made up after watching him flounder in past postseasons. He is only in it for the $$.

Seems like CBJ will have around 15M to spend. You have to sign Zach and a few of the role players. Key will be imo you let Ryan Murray walk and move Wennberg and that ugly $5M contract and it frees up over $7M of basically dead roster money. That gives you over $20M to spend on Zach, smaller deals and gets you to Duchene and probably one other big spend without having to do too much else. They would have to get creative to keep Bob, Duchene and Panarin ( moving Foligno or Dubinsky). Could probably save a few bucks if you resigned Bob by letting Kinkaid and Korpi walk and then bringing in one of the top tier kids on a peanuts deal.

Go Bucks!

The Murray experience needs to end. He just cannot stay healthy. Agree about Wennberg. Just not enough production to justify that contract.

I think Dubinsky could be moved also. They seem to have enough bottom 6 depth to make that move work.

IF the can keep Bob and Duchene that would be a homerun. But I think it is already cast that Bob and Bread are leaving together for Florida. They seem to want that life style and the Panthers can sign them both for cheaper because there is no state tax in Florida. Allows an 8 or 9 mill deal there to be the same as an 11 mill deal in Columbus.

Stay golden, Ponyboy.

HS
tcm1968's picture

You get taxed at the local rate. So half the games would be outside of Florida and taxed ( not exactly half since some games would be in Tampa/Dallas/Vegas). Vice versa you play for the CBJ and every game in Dallas, Vegas, Miami and Tampa would be no state tax for those games.

CBJ have played 8 games this season in non-tax states....

Florida Panther players still playing 30+ games where they are taxed out of state... Clearly, CBJ not the same as Florida but the tax thing is a little overrated imo...

Go Bucks!

I'm defintely only a casual hockey fan but this is awesome. Long way to go but I'm excited about how this team is playing.

The total team defensive effort in the last 6-7 minutes was incredible....they were relentless as a team keeping that puck out of the goal....stellar goalie play by Bob but as he said after the game his teammates played great around him down there.  What a win.

TBH Game 4 might just be the series. Columbus gets that one and I think it is over. Don't want to go back to Boston tied 2-2.

Stay golden, Ponyboy.

Right.  Up 3-1, with the way Bob has been performing.  It would be very difficult to then beat him 3 straight games.

And to think during the regular season many Jackets fans were calling for Tort's head. I wonder if they still feel that way with the way this playoff run is going so far lol.

I would like to attend one Buckeye football game when every fan is standing and going nuts like they were last night at Nationwide. I’ve been to some big games in The Shoe, but have never seen every fan on their feet. And I wasn’t there, but wow, it was loud on TV.

HS
actionstanleyjackson's picture

What kinda makes me upset is the national media is just now seeing how good Columbus is of a hockey town. Well they have been this way for years. Games are very well supported, fans are loud and engaged.

I get upset at the whole where did these guys and these fans come from attitude some other fanbases and media members have. Maybe they should pay more attention to other teams like the CBJ.

If anything, this run should get the CBJ a Winter's Classic game at the shoe. It is long overdue and the place would be filled.

Stay golden, Ponyboy.

Two best fan experiences in town are Crew and CBJ.. Not sure it's even close. Both those are tops in their respective leagues and home OSU football and basketball are probably middle of the pack experiences in just the b10..

Obviously, a big part of it is OSU's "biggest" games are on the road in the football playoffs, B10 championships and march madness.  CBJ also does a MUCH better job with the in-game experience. OSU has just become pretty stale..

I'm not sure basketball will ever come around but i'd bet $$$$ if you put a playoff game in the shoe that stadium would be rocking..

Go Bucks!

HS
tcm1968's picture

Agree to disagree.. Have been to all 4 events in the past year... OSU basketball arena is a flat out morgue. I could have shouted across the arena and someone could have heard me. I'm not a soccer guy outside of the World Cup and Olympics but Crew stadium gets rocking. Team USA loves to play there because of the atmosphere/crowd. Nationwide is rocking most nights and even more so in the playoffs.. OSU football games ( especially early in the season) are a straight snooze fest crowd wise most games.

I'm not implying those fans bases care or love their team more.... just that in terms of hockey the CBJ arena experience is top 5.. same for soccer... OSU isn't close to that in either sport..

Go Bucks!
